Do you think it would be possible to create a mod that would give us the option to assign a secondary keybinds? I have no idea why FS didn’t add secondary keybind options into the core game in the first place, but well… nevermind.
I second this.
Sometimes its useful to bind attack to Mousewheel up (Dual daggers/axes for example) to avoid RSI. But in doing so of course you lose the precision and muscle memory of just having it on leftclick, and you can’t hold it.
That makes it a health and safety issue Fatshark. Now you HAVE to implement it
I’ve found this little mod, waiting for approval:

PS: pls… my fingers hurt
I third this. I would love to reload/vent with a second key on my mouse. That would free up my left hand for dodging while venting while still allowing me to reload with R, which by now is basically imprinted in my reflexes. I could make an autohotkey script, but I’m not quite sure what the community and the dev’s positions are on the issue, and I’m also lazy.
AHK is allowed as long as you don’t automate stuff…
In other words, making an “alternate keybind” is ok, but making a “qq swap hammer slam auto repeat script” is not.
I thought so, but tbh, I’m hesitant to run AHK knowing that the anti cheat system is monitoring me, even if everyone agrees what I’m doing is fundamentally ok
And who enforces that?
AHK isn’t built for repetitive hold or overlaying commands and bugs out a lot in that regard.
But the thing that kills real use of such commands is the inability to specify that you want to do a light or heavy attack not to mention push-followups. Without that distinction you cannot really add any cross weapon system that isn’t more awkward to use than the standard.
I haven’t heard of any issues using AHK with EAC in Vermintide 2. I wrote a script to open lootboxes which worked without trouble. I also run a script to make swiftbow work like boltstaff (hold down to shoot) to ease RSI issues. We openly embrace this kind of thing on the Vermintide subreddit, while banning scripts that farm the game or otherwise drastically change the game (e.g. auto-pinging is pretty scummy).
I’m pretty sure you could get the timing worked out in AHK if you were motivated enough. People have scripted simple compound actions (e.g. dodge, pull potion, dodge, drink potion, dodge, equip weapon) before. That level of automating the game isn’t allowed or encouraged on the reddit, though. Thankfully, as you say, there’s not really much point in doing that kind of thing since you really will do better timing your actions yourself in general.
Well tbh, I don’t think anyone does (Including EAC). I was just stating what the apparent policy was.
YES!
I hate not to see secondary bindings in a PC game.
What are we - a censored console?
