Assassins, special sounds, backstab sound still not working correctly and it’s the base game.
The current wonky targeting of enemies is form WoM, just as vanishing/reapperaing enemies, enemies spawning from thin air, enemies spawning anywhere that is not in a LoS of a character.
And there is still more.
I don’t complain about the free market, I complain about the quality of the product I purchased and expect it to be fixed. Just how long am I supposed to wait?
I think FS has no idea what they are doing and desperately try to rake in as much money as they can, while they can.
I do protest by not buying anything from FS until they raise the quality of their product.
Are you actually just sitting around waiting for that stuff to be fixed? Maybe you shouldn’t buy games before they’re confirmed 99% bug-free.
If that was the case all new content would be stuffed into commendation chests, the chests would be added to the Emporium and Shillings would be available for purchase with real cash.
Some of these are bugs, and some of them are not. However, even if they were all bugs, you’re logic is that you are owed free labor until all bugs are removed from a game. Name a single game that is completely bug free. It doesn’t exist. By your logic, I am owed free labor from every dev of every game I’ve ever bought. I don’t think indentured servitude is the best path forward for game development. If you don’t like the game, that’s fine. But don’t act like you’re owed free content bc you don’t like a game. Judging by your activity on the forums, you’ve definitely got your money’s worth out of this game.
Nothing wrong with being against a paywalled career tho. Like i’ll probably buy it, still i’m a bit wary(if thats the correct word) about their decision.
The thing is, I cannot use the product I purchased. There are no dedicated servers that I can enjoy with my friends, there is no easy way to play an earlier version of the game legitimately. First of all, the ‘released’ game was not something I’d call a release, but that’s a blurry line. But further development actually made the product even worse. How do you call that? A scam, a false advertisement? I’m not a lawyer, so I just call it вullshit and stop supporting FS with money until they fix their game.
Not saying it’s right - just adding a point of view to the discussion.
Nice Strawman,
Palesz has a point though. There ARE bugs that have been in the game for a long time, and still yet to be fixed. You act as if its HIS fault, not FS’s, because “he should of known better to buy this game while it currently has bugs”. Its the responsibility of the developer to have a functioning game that they’re selling. All games have bugs, it happens. But those bugs not getting fixed after a long time warrants a discussion and his feelings are understandable and valid. If I pay for a product, I expect that product to work. I shouldn’t have to pay for additional content in order for them to fix what was previously in the game. You are correct, no one is “owed” free content, what we are owed though, is a properly functioning game that we paid for.
I’m confused as to why? What should be paywalled? How do you expect a game to last 5 years if there are no future purchases after the original purchase? Would you prefer they charge subscription like WoW? There has to be some form of continuous income. Otherwise, you’re asking devs to work for free.
Are you saying you can’t play the patch in existence at the time you purchased the game? So on one hand you’re asking for updates and bug fixes, etc., but on the other hand, you’re complaining that you aren’t still playing the same patch you were when you bought the game. Or do you literally mean you can’t play the game? In that case, I would reach out to FS Support because you have some sort of issue.
Very few, but yes. There have been some persistent bugs. That doesn’t mean that you don’t have the product you payed for.
This is exactly the exaggeration you need to make in order for your argument to hold water. If the game were literally not functioning, you would be correct. However, that is objectively not true. The game does largely function as intended. Many of the bugs people complain about are just a lack of understanding of game mechanics. Many are bugs. In any case, my point was that you aren’t entitled to a free career
(or any free additional content) simply because bugs exist. Do you have a counter-argument for the actual point I made?
I think you understood me perfectly and are being intentionally obtuse about the actal point I made. If that is the kind of a discussion you want to have, than I’ll pass.
I’m sure I’ll regret it, but there you go: my point was that there is no option to not include the mainstream changes FS keeps making to the base game into your local copy of it and still be able to play it. There are no servers, no real lobby versioning (that I know of) etc. You literally cannot play the original version of the game or any of its intermediate versions, hence:
As in “you cannot enter the same river twice”. Is that an interpretation?
Sure. That’s your subjective opinion. But you do see the issue with asking for updates and then saying you got scammed because FS updated the game, right? You’re arguing with yourself.
That is exactly what I stated and how I stated it, thank you.
I’m not and I don’t because I’m not asking for anything - I was stating what would draw some money from my bank account and transfer it to FS’s and what wouldn’t.
Out of curiousity: Is there any online-coop game were this is possible? If yes, which ones? If no, why should we be able to do it here?
I guess your opinion which is fine. But I just want to say once that I think that the game has improved with nearly every patch (minus bugs) that came. Combat and Talents 2.0 is a vast improvement to before. Just my opinion, obviously.
Yes, strict server versioning with universal heartbeat for online authentication is working in Minecraft from day 1 for example. You can choose every single version of the game in the launcher freely.
Factorio supports server versioning so you can participate in betas and play online too.
Those games do not have a progression tied to the account (although MC has capes and skins), but I don’t really see how that might poses a problem.
Other than that, I’m not a very avid online gamer, so maybe someone else could chime in on this one.
Some aspects do get improved while others do get worse. The perception of balance of those is indeed subjective, but the lack of a real versioning system coupled with a questionable development track record FS has doesn’t really help - you literally never know what breaks the next time the game gets updated. And that same thing can be heard from the devs themselves, which is fun.
There is no distinction between adding content and changing content, so the options you have as a buyer are pretty crappy.
