Time for another overwhelmingly negative it seems, this company doesnt get it any other way.

I wonder how the ratings would look, if we had

  • good crafitng (modifier upgrades, perk selection, lock removal, targeted blessing unlocks)
  • acc wide shared ressources (and weapons?)
  • free mission/modifier selection for private lobbies (too many options to be practical for pub lobbies)
  • always 1 available damnation HI STG mission
  • a bunch of mod functions integrated into the base game

Let‘s see what those „qol improvements“ in tomorrow’s update are gonna be.
All of the above could be qualified as accessibility/qol improvements, so who knows what we get…

I am a bit surprised that they seemingly did not try to fix most of these issues before skulls… Skulls could have been great advertising if the game was good by now.

Would be nice to have most of those improvements to be in, but I feel that they would have been more open about whats coming if that would’ve been the case. Why not advertise about something people have been asking for?

I also hope those improvements will be extended to the social tab, retry on failed missions and a returned stay in group function.

I think it would be better, if FS were more open about what they are working on, and things like that.

Then again, i can understand why they would not mention any big changes in the skulls trailer.
Not mentioning any big changes could be a good idea from a business perspective, assuming that they want to gain as many new players as possible, and assuming that a lot of potential new players do not look at steam reviews.

If you advertise your product to a customer who does not know anything about your product, you would likely not advertise by saying „we fixed many issues with our product“, because that includes telling your potential customer that there are/were problems in the first place.

You would more likely try to avoid mentioning the existence of any kind of problems, and advertise by saying „new content and qol improvements“.

Being open and honest will work for some people, but it won‘t work for others.
Sometimes, doing something kinda dumb is a reasonable thing to do, when dealing with enough people.
Prices like 9.99€ exist after all. Many people are intelligent enough to notice that it is basically 10€, but there are enough people who think „oh wow it is only 9€“ that it is a common practice.

At least i hope that this is the explanation for it.
Maybe i am too optimistic.

A roadmap would be nice to have. I suppose bringing out glaring flaws and potential fixes to said flaws might not be a good look for new players. Guess we’ll see what they have in store for tomorrow… I’m just hoping that they won’t break anything major.

is even anyone from FS reading this forum? i see very little interaction from their side…

it sounds a bit like echo chamber that everyone from FS just ignores. killing reviews and tanking rating seems to be the only way for them to notice (see what happene last time)…

i would change my mind if ever someone from FS would interact with our posts, but that happening is like scoring 380 PS, with PC on first go

I honestly find it surprising, how little interaction there is, even in the comments below comm links and patchnotes.
We get like 2 maybe 3 responses and that‘s it.

I would appreciate a high rate of interaction at least for 1-2 hrs after an announcement is posted.

clearly ratings are too good for them to consider that engaging with rejects is worthwhile, once ratings tank they will make another community pool

on a plus side at least they are honest with who we are at each commlink

I’d flip my review in an instant and never shut up IRL about how solid the game is. That’s, at least for me, what would happen…
As it is now, I cannot recommend the game. And that’s what my review will continue to state.

This time rating drop feels undeserved. They did indeed showed that feedback is ignored and not addressed any glaring issues that game have… But they did continued trickle of content, at least some work is done.
Anyway it feels now game will be stuck for long balancing between Mixed and Mostly Negative from now on.

Imagine being this salty over mostly minor issues.
Well if they’re happy to scare new players away like that, so be it. But then I don’t want to hear any more of this “Game is dead” talk.
Review tanking and then saying “The Game is dead” is essentially just fulfilling your own prophecy at that point. :joy:

Just like in the 90’s where a bunch of hedge fund managers went all in betting against the British Pound, just to turn around and say “Oh no the British Pound lost in value, how did that happen?!”.
Oldest and lamest magic trick in the book.

More like a failed and messy attempt at mercy killing. Like that episode of Robot chicken when Gary the Stormtrooper tried to mercy kill an evok he ran-by by his speeder.

I meant in a way how ridiculous that review bombing looks and provided a cultural reverence.

I doubt it. We rarely get responses. It’d be more insulting if they did and then willfully ignored everyone

TBF when they were more active, we got gems like “Immeasurably complex” and “This is not CoD, and never was intended to be”.

Besides the crafting having dead ends and locks (that needs to be improved), most of that stuff is for people who are already hooked on the game. What’s driving away the majority is much simpler, like the play loop, broken socials, lack of cross play on PC (not having a console release hurts too) and the extremely buggy release. It’s improved a lot but a lot of people were driven off because of that too.

Fatshark are more than welcome to start earning some good will back from the community with removal of content gating/ frustration mechanics. Fixing bugs is another can of worms but crappy intentional designs can be changed provided they grow a heart a la Grinch style.
