We need to have a fully shared, account-level inventory and resource sharing between characters.
The lack of a shared inventory -or even shared resources for that matter- is seriously hampering my enjoyment of the game. I have a character made for each class, but I’ve not played on anything except Veteran because I don’t want to have to farm up all the resources I need 4 times and have everything separate as if I’m playing on different accounts. It just adds a senseless amount of grind in a game where there’s already quite a bit of grind.
Vermintide did this extremely well: lockboxes were account-level and you could open them on whichever character you wanted to get their weapons. There’s no real reason to keep everything at the character level in Darktide except to artificially pad out play time and increase the grind to truly absurd levels.
This is especially damning if they are hoping people will buy new class DLC’s. Not only will you have to level them from 1-30 again but also farm all the ordos, plastic and diamonds, dockets, etc. Pretty sure their sales of any extra classes will be directly hampered by this.
The lack of shared resources is actually one of the reason why i am less inclined to play. Even when i am with my friends, i often find myself dreading having to play Character X because i need resources on Character X… despite being in the mood to rather play Character Y. Meanwhile Character Y is drowning in resources, which i don’t really need on Character Y anymore… but my Group of friends need me to play Character Y because they want to run damnation and Character X is worse doing what Character Y does.
Or to put it more blatently. My Group wants me to play my Veteran, because they are happy with their Ogryns, Zealots and Psykers, but i really need resources on my Ogryn to buy and upgrade items for my Ogryn or my Psyker… and i am constantly in this stupid negotiation period where we have to do a “one for you one for me” type of deal so i can farm some resources on the other chars… instead of just playing the game.
I am so tired of the grind. Its nothing but grind, grind, grind… and no character feels like they are getting somewhere. I am constantly looking at plasteel levels and am like “yeah, i wish i could transfer some from my Vet over to this char”
