It would be nice to know if this is being considered or is a straight up hard no, or what. Because its getting really tired finding weps that would be fun on a different class, and not knowing if its worth getting for that or not. Especially with the rng absolutely loving not giving me weps that are good for the class im logged in as, but showing me stuff id love on a diff class. its actually incredibly frustrating.
Is this being considered or is it just nope not gonna happen?
tbh the ability to share weapons and resources would mitigate alot of the problems that currently exist with the rng and individual classes being such massive time sinks for those that dont wanna be locked into just having one good character.
If i was able to play as much as i like on whatever class i feel like playing, and know that if i get something good, or build resources that i dont need on that class, but can use them to build up the others. Id be way more invested and itd be much more fun. I dont understand why progress and resources cant be shared between classes on the same account.
either make a menu all classes on the same account can access that we can put equipment into, or if you wanna be extra good about it, make a side room with some bunks, story wise it could be shared quarters for our characters and put a stash in there that we can drop gear and resources and any of our characters can use them. make it something that opens up once you get 2 characters to 30, heck make it when youve got all 4 to 30, thats fine too, maybe a bit extreme, but make it a thing. i mean they are not rejects at that point, but acknowledged members of the inquistors retinue. give them quarters, bunks and a stash.
Hedge (I think?) did talk about it. Can’t remember the exact words and can’t be bothered searching, but the message was basically “we hear you and we’re looking into it”.
100%! But then you’d have lots of characters and you’d be less likely to buy skins for them. Can’t have that.
I believe the closed beta had shared weapons between characters? Might be remembering incorrectly, or it was just shared between the same class?
It was one or the other anyway.
So they’ve most likely decided that more grinding makes you play longer, sharing is counter to grinding more, so they probably won’t do that.
Point of the gameplay loop is make you feel miserable and starved for sometging new, which forces you into the cashshop to get something new and shiny.
More grinding and more rng helps that.
I could see them opening up to weapon sharing down the line though, but only if they start mass producing weapons like warframe did/does.
no the exact opposite for me, id be more inclined to spend more. thing is the poeple with money to spend, such as myself, work for that money, and have lives. So toning down the weekly time resources means more satisfaction and likely hood of actually spendiing money to deck them out.
For sure, I’d be way more likely to buy skins (when I see some I like, so far it’s a bit meh) if it wasn’t pushing me so hard to just play one character.
exactly my point. because i like switching and dont wanna be locked into one clas, thats actually made me not want to buy anything from the shop, becuase i like to switch around but the game doesnt seem to want me to be able to do that. I dont want buy some good drip for a character that im so so on anyway, i mean the cosmetics arent that great so far. and i dont know if im gonna get much use out of it. If i knew id have more freeedom between classes and gear and resources acquired, it wouldnt bother me so much to buy some stuff to make em look cool knowing i’ll still use it alot, because i can get them decked out even if i find myself playing a different class more.
It’s pretty stupid, since game after game has shown that it’s a small percentage of the playerbase that spends the majority of money on this sort of junk. In this game that group is going to correlate with the group of people who play lots of characters, so you’d think they’d try to make life good for those people.
youre point about the purpose being to starve players for something new and shiny, doesnt work the way they seem to want it to though. getting a new look doesnt change anything. new weps to try and play around with, actually getting weps that suit the playstyle you want, or a playstyle you wanna try, thats what holds players. the cosmetics are just to make you look cool. and that looking cool thing is subjective. they havent been that great, and not everyones gonna like whats in the shop.
There is no point buying stuff to make my characters look marginally cooler, if im strugging to even see weps that live up to how that character should play.
right now my psyker has a knife in the daily shop that isnt amazing stat wise, its average but has amazing blessings and perks. if it was on my zealot id get id no questions asked. but he hardly ever sees force weapons that are even worth considering. in fact i havent seen a single force weapon show up on my psyker that even makes me wonder if i want it or not. but he often gets amazing weps for vet or zealot, and its just wasted. meanwhile my vet and zealot never see anything as good as what my psyker gets. super frustrating. psyker cant get weps for himself, the other classes get rubbish in comparison to what my psykers seen.
FRUSTRATING ASF
might just go play drg for the holidays. this game has no respect for my time and id rather spend my time on a game that doesnt crap on me. for putting my tim,e into it
im too lazy to find it, but I know for a fact that in a dev post they said that they were looking into account wide resources and money, however they arent sure on how they would do it.
other than that idk
Maybe, but I am seeing a whole lot of cashshop cosmetics running around the mourning star and in my game lobbies, so I’d say it’s working just fine.
Consider this. Changes in gameplay is the most important aspect to us all, it is what you just described and what you feel is lacking.
If they gave you a buy button to simply buy a godroll staff for 10euro, would you?
If you did, what would you do then? The purpose of playing at the moment is getting a godroll or a specific blessing or weapon you wanna try.
Simply playing each mission over and over and over for the hell of it, probably isn’t what’s keeping people around. The chase is.
So the best thing is to sell you something that doesn’t actually change the grind, but makes you feel better and makes you feel better than your fellow teammates, and changes things a bit.
It’s the same feeling of going shopping when you feel down. That new shirt is gonna make you feel great. Won’t change anything, but you’ll feel great, until you realize it didn’t change nothing and so you buy pants instead. Hehe
nothing i said was about buying a godroll. I would hate that. what im talking about is just sharing the ability to progress find things across the lvl 30 characters i have. they are getting options for things i dont want on themselves, but would totally buy and send over to another class. I dont want to buy godrolls. I want to have the ability to share good weapons i find. Frame of referance, my psyker has pages to scroll through of emporers gifts. they are all guns. Im not going to use those on my psyker. i may try a gun psyker build with a nice recon las but it isnt how i want to play that class. if i could share some of of those with my vet and zealot however, it wouldnt annoy me so much everytime i get an emperors gift and its another autogun. am i making sense?
