I don’t think. Solo had dropped to “not their priority” a long time before this move.
In fact, I think it is the contrary. This is cause they decided that there won’t be solo implemented that they made them private.
I don’t have them and I also don’t want them reverted. They were put on private in the first place because enough people complained about them ruining public games. By all means I hope FS redesigns them into stuff that griefs less then takes them off private but if they’re staying as they are, yeah private is better overall.

They should put the auric survivor and loner penances as private games then, along with loads of others 
Let’s face it, there’s heaps of penances that can harm the player experience since hestia, so I don’t see the harm in these reverting.
That said, a better solution would be to move that really cool psycher outfit (literally the coolest one), along with any other cosmetics to different public penances and simply give points to private penances.
Not missing out on nice cosmetics would likely make many of us much less salty about this stupid scenario.

Players obsession over penances cant really be falted to FS, but the specific ones that encourage bad-play, IE solo-ing, beating the map in 20 mins can be. I dont mind the group play penances, if its annoying I just never complete it.

100% agree. Penance rewards are nothing burgers. I will say I have tried new builds to complete some, so the penance system does have value to me.
If penance rewards had aquilas or 80% gear buffs then I can see this being an issue. But they dont, so its whatever.
Abusable “title” makes me giggle. Those are players that need to be carried the most. , but they will just alt-f4 before we get a chance to save em anyways.

I do not think you will find a lot of players that will argue against putting survivor titles into private only lobbies.
Some nice cosmetics are tied to the private only penances. If it was just points at stake then I’d care less but missing out on nice cosmetics (the best free psycher outfit imo… Black and gold!) isn’t cool.

Making a penance private only is lazy design. They should just think of a better way to change the penance itself.
I don’t think any penances should be private only unless there is a solo mode.

FS actually did provide a means for social interaction in the game. Discord is certainly easier and a more likely method to find a group, but you can always just ask in the hub. I’ve seen it quit a bit and even helped a couple of times. Admittedly for the easier ones, like the psyker monster one.
I recall a bunch of people begging for carries through the Twins hard mode and, nah, I’m not that amazing.

some social interaction isn’t the same as being able to just go into an LFG and join a game that wants to get the penance or something, all we have is a basic chat system that doesn’t even have a way to tell where you are in your words like you do on a website, people don’t wanna just backspace to edit, that takes too long.

Nah, OP is right. These penances should be deleted from the game, be de-privatised, or at least removed from any and all of those penances which amount to “complete all these other penances”.
It really is a kick in the nuts to get locked out of multiple penances on multiple classes because you need one that you can’t possibly get outside of a premade group.
This game’s inbuilt social systems aren’t nearly good enough for that to be a thing, and no, discord isn’t an answer.

They just need to implement that stupid solo mode so everyone can get them at their leisure.
Personally I’ve had enough of zealots and other people doing random stuff in random lobbies in an attempt to get some stupid penance that half the playerbase probably don’t even care about.
that and they should change them so that they don’t have to grief other players for a penance that is required for master of war stuff and then and only then should they deprivate them because private penaces are stupid as all hell.

To me it was initially annoying until I got to ask around on groups on social media on Facebook/Messenger groups, Discord (for those who do), and isnt there a vast community on Steam anyway for PC gamers?
