The change in private games on Penance for Preacher (it’s just a flesh wound) made this even more harder than it needs to be. I was fine asking players when loading in now I have to find players in mourning star which is server divided so only a handful of players get to see.
finding the right mission is also a problem only a handful of mission has a track record of success but now you gotta find players at the right time.
really bad implementation.
The game chat should be across servers if you want this implemented.
They need to remove that.
There is no justification to forbid us to complete the penance in normal game
I have one Ogryn penance I could not do cause of their decision, unwanted, unasked, unwaited to restrict penances to a private game.
I don’t play discord, I play Darktide.
To be honest a lot of redditors were complaining that pepople were ruining their games. I agree it’s a stupid change though, especially since we can’t even start solo lobbies

Any person that try to say what he thinks can be downvoted a lot before anything can be discussed.
Seems like what is written here in forum gets ignored by team.
Especially in the feedback section i would expect more activity of the community management.

But it looks like reddit is the thing to communitcate with the right people of fatshark, so stupid, but to be honest, its long ago, that there was a not stupid thing comming from fatshark, dont know whats up in that company and especially in the responsibility section of the hierarchy.
Private-only penances is such a bad idea. Most penance hunters are no-life trolls who grind alone anyway. At least most rare frame hunters I have met in game are. I don’t care about penances really, I got most of them already from just playing the game anyway, because I used to play a lot. I play a lot less now, after seeing what Fatshark is doing with this could-have-been-great game. But forcing players to group up if they don’t feel like it, that’s just bad idea.
I hate the Discord cesspit. Even this forum has an astonishing amount of internet trolls. I only play private games with IRL friends or nice folk I meet in-game. But most of the time I just want to jump in and play a couple of games by myself. They way I like to play. No weird-voice strangers on coms, no BS.

Exactly. Those penances should be renamed “I have friends that play this game”. Just like most rare frames should be named “I have no skill, but I grind a lot”.
Its not that hard, i dd it in a normal game. Asked the group if its ok when i am doing a boss alone if we got a spawn. Nurgle Beast spawned and i kited the beast around while brainbursting.
You need to have luck for randoms which are kind and not trolling you but there is nothing “skill based”.
The player base is already so small that the idea of FORCING people to have friends and create private lobbies for the specific purpose of doing penances that are now locked out of pub play is asinine…
Prior to this patch I helped people complete their penances all the time. All they had to do was ASK. “can we complete this in 20 minutes”, “sure”, and off we go.
This is the worst possible way they could have solved this “problem”. They should have changed the requirements to be easier AND promote more teamplay instead of forcing us to play like a jackass.
As someone who does play Darktide with others on Discord, I was honestly surprised to see them do this. Darktide’s current implementation of a social chat and/or looking for people to play with in-game is extremely lackluster. It’s unrealistic now for many people to attempt these penances.
And solo private play still does not exist, 6 months after launch.
Not only does solo play not exist but they also removed the opt-in “keep a party together after a mission” feature shortly after launch because “it wasn’t working properly”. Now we have nothing.
The psyker boss solo-kill penance is now essentially impossible for me to do. It has to be in a private lobby and it MUST have four human players because even a single bot will open fire and ruin it for you. Since all of my friends quit darktide long ago I have no one to play with and the game has no social features for finding groups. It’s all just a mess of poorly thought out and implemented features.
