Talking about scoreboard:
I should not start talking about Overwatch do i?
Nah scoreboard doesn’t do anything, It just nice to see BIG numbers ya know, But if people use it for toxic behavior way, You can’t do anything about it, It’s the same way if you don’t have scoreboard, They will scream at you for not DOING better then him. lmao
Damn those Overwatch 2 players scream at me, Why i don’t do enough damage and get yelled.
Just blame the Competitive players that play Darktide and Vermintide, Scoreboard or not, They aren’t the blame, It’s the players
Selfish is the key word here. Someone who joins a difficulty they are dozens of hours from being anywhere near ready is inherently selfish, as much as any typical Main Character, they both treat the rest of the team as NPCs and a means to an end. Neither group values the team’s time or the fact they are fellow human beings; it’s not an either-or you can dislike both groups.
Just to say about that the idea that Scoreboard can be a way to show who are the good players, is pure and absolute non sense.
There are players that are skilled, that I don’t want to play them. Why? Cause they have never learnt the word “Team”.
By the way, scoreboard is able to provide you datas of what it works, and what doesn’t.
I often switch to a new weapon. One scoreboard means nothing. Several, after practicing with the weapon means something.
That’s why I know that the achlys combat axe clearly should get a slight buff. Cause I compared with its sisters, and the sisters are better. This is the scoreboard that has shown it to me.
However, seeing someone having not the highest damages, or even the grey one, doesn’t mean the guy has not contributed. The inversion exists, that’s not why the guy did greatest damages that he was a good element of the team. That’s pure non sense to say the contrary.
However, seeing someone having done highest amount of damages, has not gone down, has rescued all etc. This means something.
Seeing a guy that you can see going down 9 - 10 times, means something.
But you should always use the scoreboard to get your own metrics, discuss balancing… but other than that, it should never be used to be harmful toward an other player.
I don’t care that sometimes we find bad players. After all, they need to progress. However, if the player expects just to be carried from the beginning to the end and obviously not ready, then yes here I am less indulgent.
And I prefer 100 times someone that will pay attention to others, than a group that just rush.
Today did a great mission with random. The difference to what I get when I regularly play? the guys played as team. The total damages were all around 450k for the 4. No death cause we have not pushed too much, while not being also too slow. That’s great when you play something like that.
And I prefer that to the selfish guy that rushes and try to kill all what he can. I don’t care that he is skilled… I prefer to have a teammate.
heh
Easy fix, Remove Chat/Voice Chat.
The real problem is, High Skilled players playing with Skilled players but the High Skilled players insults those Skilled Players that they play bad with scoreboard stats, That’s all.
A fix for it, is just, Go play ALONE! or Hope TO DEAR GOD! You find your matching public group. And not meet those “HIGHLY TRAFFICKING TRYHARDERS” talk bad about you or maybe YOU! Blame others for being bad
I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but even just an official end-of-match screen (none during match), even if only accessible after the strike team has disbanded (no feedback from others) would be valuable information to have.
Sounds like an idea, But people love to see live-numbers go up when they play, It seems like you talking about a mod called “Power DI”, The mod just shows massive data framework after finishing a mission.
Seen this idea thrown around quite a bit, tbh it’s a very decent solution to the issue. Not sure why people can’t agree on that.
This is just incoherent noise. Not sure why you wrote it like that since your next post is perfectly comprehensible.
you’re implying that this topic is still relevant to many people, but in reality we who keep talking about it are always the same few dregs.
i’d bet that at large people adopted a moderate/compromise opinion, are waiting for FS to do something or just downloaded mods to compensate and moved on with their lifes
I guess with Fatshark’s attitude towards the community it truly doesn’t matter what all of the five people on these forums have to say. You’re right, the implication here was likely unintentional on my part.
FS’s modus operandi is a total enigma, that is true
Huh? Ignorant, What’s your problem?
And which post? lol
Do you know what’s toxic to the community? Every other month or so someone getting on to complain about mods and very often the scoreboard specifically because of the scoreboard’s supposed toxicity. It starts another fire storm every time.
Am I being elitist? Yes, fine, you caught me. But I’m also getting really freaking tired of having this conversation over and over again.
And since you’re about to ask, no I won’t just ignore it when someone tries to condemn an aspect of the game that (a) adds significantly to my enjoyment of the game (mods and the scoreboard), (b) is well within the bounds of Fatshark’s modding policy and (c) is a BS argument in the first place.
Regarding point (c): I’m coming up on 800 hours and I’ve seen a scoreboard maybe mentioned in pubs 10 times. And half of those have been players congratulating others for posting impressive numbers. Cases of the scoreboard breeding toxicity are nearly non-existent from what I’ve experienced.
So if it’s elitist to defend something I feel strongly about when it’s disparaged by others, whatever. I’m aware I’m being blunt but this a fabricated problem through and through.
I think the blame is PvE Game and it’s progression system and the rewards are the same all the time, That’s why people love numbers and talk trash about others. But I can see the problem with scoreboard. But i can’t really… see a problem with that like, a gameplay wise. But that’s what left 4 dead 2 became, Stats and skill. Scoreboard is just an assist to see who is really better for higher paced skills. At the end of the day, Is finishing the map and not losing. But trash talking is just what we as humans love to blame on. And feel good about themselves.
Nah i get it, It’s better that we have more friendly community but i don’t think neither darktide or vermintide has an escape or a solution from the competitivity the game gets.
This was one of the first mods I was interested in now I don’t even have a variant of it in my loader (but 70+ mods many vintage some held for collector status only yes I am joking). Its pretty easy to tell whose getting pasted and whose doing well already.
But I have seen maybe like…4 people be irritating through this mod specifically. They would have gotten muted long before they started droning on about scoreboards because those people are just obnoxious regardless. This isn’t a uniquely damaging tool in their already brain damaged state.
that’s a good alternative to mastering the art of ignoring people.
You’re right about that. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against mod support. It’s good the way it is… well aside from some cheats but we’re not talking about that here.
By the time I saw this thread though, the original post has been hidden and the discussion shifted to talking about scoreboard. Your original post talks about scoreboard and doesn’t mention mod support in the slightest. So if what you wrote now is true and the problem you have is the mod support debate, then… I can see that. But your original post doesn’t sound like that was the point you were trying to convey. It’s a pretty clear rant on a lack of built-in scoreboard, and if there is indeed some kind of context lost through the hiding of the thread post, then I think it’d be a good thing to amend your response to include it.
Nah, I actually like what you did here. The problem of mod support can be said to be fabricated, but to say the same about the potential built-in scoreboard… well, that’d require data that only Fatshark has. So it’d be a dishonest take to state it as a fact.
