you don’t need to use the scoreboard mod. or you can use it, but not care a lot about what it shows. i have it mostly for evaluating my own performance.
You just outed yourself as incredibly selfish and toxic.
With that attitude, you would deserve to get banned from multiplayer.
I said that people should learn from an adequate challenge.
You responded by asking me if i learned to swim in a puddle.
Me assuming that you did not understand what i said, is not an ad hominem.
It is the most generous way to judge your response.
nope, you don’t know me at all, you just make a lot of assumptions and claim moral high ground.
you can find whatever you want toxic, I prefer to learn on highest difficulty because I’m a quick learner, and don’t need handholding. I rather fail a couple of times for the accelerated learning environment.
that says way more about your character than mine.
ad hominem: to attack a person rather than the argument.
Correct response: I don’t see the correlation
false response: you didn’t understand
How does that not make sense? You don’t improve by skipping levels and going 2 levels above your “weight class”, you go to the next one, get good, then move up, get good->move up…
Gatekeeping is precisely needed to prevent people from cutting the line, it was needed a year ago and even more so now.
People clearly cannot self-police in this game no matter how many carrots were offered them, time for some sticks.
Modding in Darktide: (Some people be like)
“Remove it, I don’t care about the otherside, Better blame the devs that they don’t work hard enough”
INSTEAD! Let the community play around with mods and let them make their own experience while the devs work in their own peacefully time until they are happy to announce updates.
Mod support means, The game has chance to live much longer because the community can make stuff for the game itself.
Mod support means, People want more instead of being patient, They want NOW! Some great people who make, And their is the users that WISH mods like what they make.
But if you have problems with mods, Go play solo or play with a friend only. If you really have problem with that.
I understand the toxic players that use mods to BE better, And just blame others all the time and neither do i like it. What can you do about it? Left 4 Dead 2 has that problem even without mods. So i don’t see a problem with mods. It’s just the playerbase is just that competitive.
Edit: Not to forgot and point out, Of course it comes with negative effects like using mods that cheat for you and tell you things you don’t suppose to know or assist you from death, Yea i get it. That’s why i recommend you play solo or with friends. But if you want to play public, Play public. Don’t listen to nobody and just play for fun. BUT if you are competitive, What are you doing? Go make yourself a group that are good. And go play Auric Maelstorm lmao
At least we have freewill! Thanks for fatshark. Not like Nintendo jess.
I’d argue that the tide games are 90% muscle memory and reflexes, getting accustomed to slower pacing would actually be detrimental to a certain degree.
There are enough granular difficulties that you can get acclimated to every higher tier without being so overwhelmed and detrimental that your team would be better off with a bot.
This is not a new issue, but by all accounts worse now. Malice->Damnation Auric HiSTG+Maelstrom tourists has been a thing for a year, this is not health for the game or the community. It breeds contempt, resentment and I’m sure has made many better players just not bother playing.
Partial blame goes to the all the “carrying noobs is fun for me” “they’re difficulty modifiers” crowd, the outcome here was predictable.
lololol no one has ever jumped difficulties and “damaged the health of the game” because of some rando on Reddit (forget about these forums, that all of 100 people read) saying they actually enjoy carrying and don’t mind lesser-skilled players in their games.
I don’t understand that sentiment at all, i simply cannot feel resentment towards someone of a lower skill level than mine, regardless of how much that person drags down the success chances.
I consider players who do actually have the skill but consciously choose to play selfish a million times more detrimental, because a team oriented noob will acquire the skills necessary in due time, but a selfish veteran most likely won’t transform into a paragon of teamplay.
that’s not how skill works, trying crap you aren’t ready for is a big part of improving beause you learn what you can’t do yet.
well in theory. most people seem to go to reddit and get angry about “player agency” instead. it used to be “quality of life” but people caught on to that bring a lie.
The second part of the post wasn’t specifically aimed at you, just at the ongoing discussion. I’m just amazed that after what, 9 years of tide games people still think scoreboards have some sort of effect. I sure don’t notice a difference between how VT and DT are played or what people choose to call out.
