and its ok to have an unpopular opinion sometimes. they should still remove it for everyone else though.

It does tend to make for some very un-fun experiences… particularly when connection to the server is… not perfect it makes hounds among the more difficult (sometimes outright unfairly impossible when they are facing the opposite direction from you and somehow manage to pounce directly on your face) of the disablers to reliably evade.

I now know the timing to smack em with muh bonk stick SAH.

Definitely not my favorite. Would be much better if it was just dog spawns, not that now dogs spawn in packs as well.

fatshark plz

I think the dog mode is funny. It’s also just plain an easier version of high intensity. Dog mode is more specialists (but only dogs), while high intensity is more specialists along with more of everything else.

It’s just a wild mix things up mode which by itself is fine. The real issue is that players can’t just chose normal missions to run and have to only use the bounty board missions. We still can’t just select a normal mission map+difficulty and there are also no quick play filters like toggling hazard conditions out yet.

Overall the real issue is that we just have to wait for the Devs to add more mission select options which will take painful waiting.

Not everyone. I really like it. The dogs need a bit of tuning, but that doesn’t mean that the event is bad.

Never assume that you speak for anybody but yourself. It does not strengthen your case.

I like it, in most cases it punishes only solo “tourists” who split from the squad. Admittedly I would rather be able to set conditions manually at will instead of relying on the terrible RNG mission creator.

Maybe if the spawn cues don’t die half the time. Yes I know every special wave comes with 2 dogs, and they do have approach sounds, but sometimes they appear out of doors silently just as you pass and insta-pounces you.

Dogs are dogs, so they are rather easy to deal with this is a list of stuff you can do.

  • Travel in pairs. (4 man cohesion is only necessary for bosses/defense or large horde/elite spawns)

  • Highlight it when you see it, if it has already pounced on you, you can still highlight it to let your team know.

  • Like dogs in RL Pox hounds are not good at climbing, jump on a table/crate/ladder they cant reach you.

  • If you are sure it is going to get you, light a nearby barrel or throw a grenade at the floor, itll interrupt him.

  • It is very easy to stagger, a couple shots will stop it in its tracks, or force it to run/change target.

  • It has a big head, so weakspot hits can kill it before it reaches you.

  • You can time melee push to stop it. It has to be right before he lands on you.

  • On occasions if you want to get cocky and live dangerously you can try to time the swing, and sometimes it oneshots him right before he pounces.

  • Psyker can crouch beside a crate and spam his force sword interrupt, it has a rather large radius, and can keep interrupting it until a teammate kills it or notices it.

  • Psyker lightning staff stops it in its tracks, making dogs and everything else trivial.

  • Ogrynn box is instakill, wherever it hits it.

  • Dont stand near doors, if you are passing one, aim your weapon at it, till you are no longer next to it.

As for any bugs, changes, the only thing I see wrong with it, is the occasional ragdoll/physics thing where he flies into the air lol. He also sometimes falls thru the floor, its can be annoying or funny depending on the situation.

Are the sounds being drowned out by everything else, or they are not playing at all?

That’s actually not really great advice since you can swing though walls.
I just stand next to doorways at a slight angle and they will jump and hit the door frame then you club them down.

Especially good if you can just camp the door while a horde in attacking you since you know where it’s gonna come from and don’t even need to dodge.

Not playing at all. It’ll be quiet, then you just suddenly hear the dogs running at you, no ominous noise, no howling.

I swear there was a small hot fix that vastly improved the player’s ability to hit hounds. They’ve become very easy to fend off even with hordes closing in. Before, I couldn’t knock a hound away once they started a bounce, now I can knock them out of the air with quick attack.

They’ve become a small annoyance rather than a big issue. Most teams I’ve played on stop in their tracks to wait for incoming hounds to ensure things go smooth. I don’t share your dread.

i have no problems dealing with dogs that have proper spawns. half of them have no sound queue or broken undodgeable animations. they need to be dodgeable. however it seems the cheap servers fs uses arent stable enough for that. and that sucks.
there are plenty of ways to deal with them. but if i need scrips and my teammates are “good” they sprint to the end of the mission and dont look for scrips. so i’ll go look by myself. nobody ever sticks to me. even if i comm. they stick together like npcs on tracks. thats fine ill just make them come back for me if i get pounced. or fs can remove the event already because nobody likes it.

Yes, if working properly, I have figured out the heavy swing timing on a dog leap. the issue is when I make the hit, and it somehow glances.

This and my poor habit of trying to push the dog, like it’s an assassin rat.

You know you in a good group when you hear the dog and everyone stops and turns around and waits.

They spawn in pairs, but they can spawn in pairs 3 times in a row in short order, I’ve had situations where we’ve been attacked by 6-8 hounds at a time with 2 muties, 4 flamers and 2 snipers combined with an untold number of chaff infantry and ranged units. It’s insane and you CANT survive such a situation.

They are also among the of mobs that ignore hitboxes and dodges, as they magnet on you, even if you’re well out of the way.

Even if you smack them, they can still pounce on you right after at point-blank range, with no chance in hell to protect yourself. At least the mutie has the decency to let you go after a bit of stomping.

They also have no collision with other mobs, meaning that even if there’s literally no room to move, they can still get to you, which is absolutely moronic.

Dogs have the ability to fly to space and then land right next to you, instantly -also not giving you a chance. Since they’re not affected by fall dmg, it’s a massive problem.

They should fix these issues before doing an event that literally ruins the player experience. THEY.ARE.NOT.FUN
