Ranged team damage needed in t5

ranged team damage needed in t5 to encourage a more team positive play style from ogryns.

less than 10% of ogryn are even trying not to walk directly thru anyone who is shooting, this problem is doubly worse when they block sharpshooter from maintaining his ult.

asking nicely, if they would just walk to the side is 90% of the time met with irrational entitled rage, for daring to imply that they are doing something not conducive to team play and victory.

TBH Did vets announce beforehand he wishes to use his ult or just expects the ogryn to read his thoughts… ?

this is silly, if the shooter has the gun out and is shooting, they also have to announce it?

why cant the ogryn look where he is going and not walk directly through someone who is shooting?

im not going to clutter up voice chat every time i shoot my gun, and announce every reload either.

just put in team damage, then they will have to stop.

I have never had someone ask nicely. I try to stay out of the way of vets and try to be a team player in general. I’ve leveled every class so I know the simple ways to not be a toxic teammate. That being said I cannot read minds. When I play vet I expect to have to work around my teammates, when I play ogryn I try to cover my team and keep everyone up. But everytime someone has voiced an issue to me it has always been in a mocking, or just flat out unkind manor. So while I agree people should be kind and not walk into the line of fire if they can help it, I just want to say people should also expect to work around their teammates a bit as well. Accidents happen.

serious question how hard is it not to walk directly through a person who is shooting indy, on a scale of 1 to 10.

I personally find that i never walk thru someone directly when they are shooting, i would say its a zero out of ten in difficulty, but im used to games with team damage.

you don’t understand how people are motivated, and how selfish people are. the only solution is team damage.

The problem is that Ogryn is melee focused so he needs to get closer every now and then, he needs to move forward to do it’s thing, even more if you are using the boomstick or the rippergun, you simply need to go forward, that means most of the time to get in the way of everyone else.

The only “non-toxic” way to play ogryn, is to stay behind with a ranged weapon that allows it and engage in melee only when enemies get into close combat with the team, which is boring AF.

This game has a lot of stretch corridors, its complicated for ogryns to not get in the way, and I know it’s frustrating when I play vet, but that’s how the game has been designed. Badly.

I completely agree, it’s an easy thing to stay out of people’s way. Learned from VT2 how to avoid team damage. Hence why I said accidents happen. Sometimes the person spins around and starts shooting a different way, you dodge a crusher and find out you got in the way of a spay, on occasion some people spray at things your already in melee with. You can end up with teammates that are bad about shooting their fellow man. I wasn’t trying to make an excuse for people who are not practicing due diligence, just trying to say that sometimes the gunner isn’t being diligent themselves.

to indy and hrod, why not stop defending bad players with all these equivocations, playing devils advocate, and exceptions to the rule?

just support turning on team damage for tier 5.

I admit less than 10% of ogryn players try not to block ranged fire, and I observe that most of them fail to accomplish this goal to any reasonable standard.

the existence of this 10% does not negate the 90% that will only stop doing this when they take damage from the shooters they indiscriminately block.

they don’t stop when you ask nicely, they say a whole bunch of toxic things and make fun of you, then do it more.

just say you support turning on team damage, don’t try to find the exception to the rule, this type of thinking is a bad habit to have, it will lead you into bad situations irl.

I will step away as I see I am unwelcome here.

or you could just admit you were wrong and support the premise.

people these days think being wrong is a bad thing, but it’s actually the only way you grow, when you admit it.

Ogryns will happily walk through you so they can stand in front of you and shoot their stubber. This is not a “Ogryns need to be in melee” exclusive problem. Ogryns are also famously good at walking until you’re inside them, and then just stopping.

Taking damage from allies will go unnoticed for all of the players running in your line of fire.

It will just cause more damage to your team.

I’m not defending bad players, I’m saying that in top of that there is a problem with the game design.

I support turning on team damage in all difficulties. I’ve done it since day 1 and people told me that it would be toxic and that the game is good without it.
If FF is enabled, then you will see how no one plays ogryn anymore, the size of the ogryn is the problem, zealots rush forward all the time but they don’t block your whole screen while doing so.

The situation here reminds me a lot to SpaceHulk Deathwing. If you haven’t played it, imagine that everything is full of narrow corridors and the whole team are ogryns with FF on, plus the most powerful weapons on the game have a long area of damage and do a LOT of FF damage.
What happened? Pleople stopped using those weapons because FF was unavoidable, and eventually stopped playing the entire game because it was boring (for many reasons, but that’s one of them).

Anyway, I want the FF on, so the bad game design is exposed, plus the bad players. You misunedrstood me.

That’s a special kind of mfer lol

They should make a hardcore mode with full friendly fire, including grenades, melee, and magic.

100% respect, i apologize for misunderstanding you. thank you for clarifying.

Space Hulk had terrible combat, boring classes and weapons, and boring enemies. Darktide is what Space Hulk should’ve been.

Shooter ALWAYS have their gun out and how TF ogryns supposed to know where the vet aiming at ? TBF all ult have voice lines but if im correct not standarized (in a range of bastion 20 - 20 → this is for cadia… all over to → HeAdD hUnTinG)

if ogryn blocks the vet is either

A, vet and his team already in a choke.
B, vet just as dumbfounded over his position as the ogryn front of him…

perfect example of the mindset of the ogryn, thank you for showing that the only thing which will solve this problem is turning on team damage.

when you walk through a full auto bolter and die 100 times in a row, eventually you will learn to walk around the vet when hes shooting.

My first lv30 and most played class was vet :upside_down_face:

however you clearly have internalized an ogryn mindset.
