Issue Description: The game will crash seemingly at random. I have analyzed several of the crash dumps and sometimes they point to access violations sometimes they point to render device errors. Unfortunately, the crasher hasn’t output any more dump files but the console logs of the last two times I’ve tried to run the game both pose this error, “[D3D12_RENDER_DEVICE] SL Error: '[04.12.2022 10-18-00][streamline][error]commoninterface.h:336[set] Setting ‘common’ constants with the same frame index several times per frame, this needs to be fixed!” I am at a loss and have tried several ways to fix this issue. This issue was not present during my beta testing in both the 2nd wave of testers and the pre-order testers so I am not entirely sure what is happening.
Steps to Reproduce: The crashing appears to happen at random with no correspondence to what is actually happening in the game. No error is displayed on the screen and it is a clean crash (i.e. no stuttering, hanging, or attempted recovery of the application)
Platform: Steam
Player ID:76561198074753996
Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone: 12/04/2022 10:18 AM Eastern Standard Time
Reproduction Rate: Constant, the game will not run without experiencing this issue
These Crash dumps are not from the two games I tried today, they came from 3 days earlier. I am unsure if the errors present in these logs are connected with the errors I’ve spotted in the console logs but if it helps I have attached them.
After Reviewing the old Console logs, the corresponding console log files for the dump files provided provide a different error than the one i am having issues with. So, they are of no use.
Following a total reinstall of the game, I managed to solve this error. It may have been caused by a corrupted file during an update or switch from beta build to release build. Either way, it is most likely resolved.
Thank you for responding, I understand you guys are busy with several bugs. I will continue to update this thread with any new information I have found.
it appears the line I first suspected as a fatal error actually isn’t. This line of the console log is just the last available log before the game crashes. At this moment I am entirely unsure as to why it is crashing so suddenly.
At this moment it appears as if the game is closing with no reliable reason as to why. Windows reliability isn’t logging a crash in the application either.
I see you’re on 527.37. I couldn’t go more than 1-2 minutes in game on that version and rolled back to 526.98. I’ve completed 3 games with only 1 crash since then.
I decided to check to see if EAC was triggering a false positive on the system so I attempted to run the game with nothing but essential apps (i.e. Discord, Steam, Windows things only) and the game has run fine with no crashes for 3 games consecutively. My friend and I compared apps and determined it may be an issue with a Razor utility (Suspected Chroma or Cortex) and EAC not getting along. I am not sure if this is entirely the case but the after completely closing all the Razor applications the game has run fine with no issues.
I can confirm my suspicion. I ran a game with my system running as normal (All background apps open and doing their thing) and about halfway through I experienced a crash with no error. I disabled Cortex and Synapse and I was able to do 3 missions with no issues. I do not know what the issue is or how it happens, but what I do know is that, if you are experiencing a crash, it may be worthwhile to try and run the game without the razor utilities running. I expect it is something to do with Razor and EAC but I do not know.
