Rage quitting foos crashing Mortis

Been playing with the new game mode and when players that get downed quit the game mode goes back to character menu @FatsharkStrawHat

This is a great game mode yet dealing with this rage quit issue on even last wave has become an issue that needs to be fixed

Rage quitting is already an issue across all games and platforms yet this is an issue that needs measures to protect other players considering their continuity in gameplay

Mortis is fun I see that new players or those who think quitting is positive (unless they need to handle real life situations) is a very important thing to fix if they quit upon some fail at a whim

Thank you for this!

Any thoughts on what might help? (This is a genuine question! I worry it comes off bad :joy: )

How about adding a collective strike system that removes access?

The lead designer would surely love that

Some games, Marvel Rivals for example, “punish” players for rage-quitting. Personally I think doing something about serial rage-quitters would be acceptable, even if some might find this “controversial”. The problem starts when people get punished for stuff which was a result of the game or mods stability.

Unranked. No penalty for leaving. Considered casual mode.

Ranked. Timed penalty of not being able to match make again i.e. X number of mins. Now you just need to decide the “benefits” of ranked mode. Maintaining karma rating to show off as badges beside player name i.e. More orange weapons, higher quality stat weapons, more resources etc. Has to be of benefit whatever decided. Now you know the people in this ranked game, want to win and accept consequences.

So people get “choice”.

However I wouldn’t blanket this penalty across the game.

If forced to stay in a match when not motivated and want to avoid penalty arising from leaving and that includes AFK detection, then they might just go half effort, not care much, just get to the end, let everyone die sooner just to finish it etc.

I would rather let people leave if they are not motivated than force them to stay and not care. Then open the slot to someone else to join who could potentially be more motivated.

Hard enough dealing with reports of abuse, now you would have to deal with AFK reports of people forced to stay within mission as additional support overhead.

Thank you as well! So far it seems like the only thing that works is much like what was patched in for handling the usual quit issues that happened on Auric Maelstroms and for Havocs

Other than that I am enjoying the new game mode and had fun using my Ogryn after rebuilding the talents to fit with the new rework

Fairly smooth so far otherwise
