Hi there.
I have been stuck on trying to do the Psyker’s “Cliffhanger” penance. To those Psyker players in the past, how did you do it? I’ve seen online from other people how they did it, but each time I’ve tried them, I have gotten absolutely nowhere.
I’ve used the Voidstrike’s AoE blast effect, I’ve used the Smite’s push, I’ve used the sword’s push, I’ve used Venting Shriek. And the closest, the CLOSEST, I have gotten is 5/7.
How the entire hell. Do I do. This penance.
Not to mention how stupid it is. Almost every other penance that psyker has actually makes sense from a real gameplay perspective.
Killing a poxhound mid pounce is difficult but if you just aim for each poxhound and time it right, it’s easy enough.
Killing three elites by succumbing to Perils of the Warp is a bit counterproductive, as it then leads to you being incapacitated.
Killing 25 mutants/pox hounds/trappers before they incapacitate or trap a teammate also makes sense, it helps the team.
But taking a player out of the real gameplay loop and requiring them to stand by a ledge to way for a horde. It makes no sense. No GD sense.
I’ve done it before the penance updates using the force sword push attack on a horde near a ledge. My team was aware that I was going for it and funnelled the horde to the ledge.

Funnel them there and Greatsword swing. Hopefully with new DLC class and game update on mission board you might be just choose this mission or wait until next cycle it shows up.
I did it on the start of clandestum gloriana with the horde that sometimes spawn behind you, I had a force sword and venting shriek (I don’t remember which of them got the job done) this penance is a pain in the arse but you just have to keep trying and you will get it eventually.
Not as bad as Malleus Monstorum or whatever the brain burst a monster to death one is called. That one is completely unobtainable thorugh normal play thanks to being a private penance. A category shared by Just A Flesh Wound for Zealot.
Get a shield Ogryn on comms in a private game and ask them to taunt a horde and bring them to a ledge, using trauma staff (dont charge it all the way) on top of venting shriek should do the trick
On top of the spots everyone already mentioned in this thread, there’s an early narrow bridge on Chasm Logistratum map. Ogryn can bring the horde to that bridge and stack them there, and you just use shriek from the side, while standing on the “main” bridge

Count your blessings, it used to be 20 instead of just 7.
As others have said before, vigil station the bridge to the mid tower at the end event is your go to.
This is probably the best way to do it. Psyker can load up on 1 Stamina + 3 Stam regen through curios and spam push attack like no other class can. Force sword knockback is great, not to mention the player is protected while blocking so there’s that. Probably the most consistent method.
Vigil station end with a shriek push got mine. That’s not currently an option. But others have dropped suggestions in here.
I mainly want to say: Let your team know. I’ve never seen anyone be shitty in pubs if you just let them know up front (unless its a penance you shouldn’t be doing in pubs).
I think you had to push off even more before. I think I pushed off some with Trauma staff just in some organic gameplay. Gl.
I did it with an unbuffed Psyker shriek. Let a horde build up near a ledge, dodge behind it, then shriek them off the ledge. Throw in some weapon pushing for good measure.
If you want to do the penance only for the points, you really don’t have to because in a month we will probably get 60 new penances for the new class. I really hate the Psyker penances too.

Got mine through pure luck, not even sure where I did it.

A bit of a sit-rep.
I finished it on the Clandestium Gloriana mission (the snow mission with Swagger). I had an Ogryn with taunt and a shield get a horde aggro’d onto him and did a Venting Shriek at around 90% peril. Got it.
Even though I got it does not mean it’s a good penance. I think it discourages players from playing the game organically in most instances, as not many missions have ledges that are also viable for players to try and get heretics off of.
