PSA for nVidia owners: New Drivers are out

In case you struggle with performance. Last one made a big impact on performance for Darktide and made the game playable on DLSS.
Give it a shot if you still struggle with frames.

Which version are you running?
I regard each new version with caution.
Sometimes they are really broken.

I was thinking the same, things are running pretty stable for me since the last update. I’m hesitant to roll the dice lol

Indeed I’ve installed 526.98, which was rolled out around the time DT did. It said, improved performance with DT, I guess it provided.
I’d risk another driver update only for a sure thing

Did a clean update yesterday, tanked my FPS.

If this isn’t a troll post meant to aggravate, please provide metrics. What are your lows, average, and max fps. How does the game perform with hordes or in other intensive areas. What are your computer specifications? Could you upload images or videos using MSI Afterburner? The software is free to download and is by far the most comprehensive utility available to end users for performance reports. Saying,“performance is better” doesn’t provide much data. Additionally is this isolated to updating drivers or something else? I am leery when it comes to Nvidia Drivers.

For reference here’s what my performance is like:
My computer specs are as follows:

  • Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
  • 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12700KF, 3600 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)
  • 32 GB RAM
  • 453 GB SSD
  • Windows 11

First video is me walking around the hub:

Actual gameplay (frame drops during hordes were down to 50s):

Too lazy/busy to actually do it.
I have i78700k, rtx2080ti.
I experience from 30 to 80 fps regardless of what I’m seeing (combat or just staring at the wall), GPU usage goes from 50% to 80%, higher load usually gives better FPS.

Sounds like you were running a pretty old driver before this. The game has been playable on DLSS since day one for me.

And I hardly believe the latest driver (the one we got half a day ago) makes any meaningful difference when nvidia already released a darktide specific driver a week ago.

Not so sure aobut that. I had the “darktide” drivers as well and I wasn’t happy with the RT performance so far. Since yesterdays drivers it is 60-80 fps with RT Medium on…
Beauty of PC, I guess, everyone has a different config, what does not work for you may work for others.

Well, newish drivers got me in the end: I’m having bsods and all sort of similar unfun nonsense.
So, update at your own risk.

How are the new drivers?
Did performance improve, stay the same or degrade?

Last I updated my drivers, performance in Darktide went down.
