Proposed solution about Power Sword nerf

My take on the power sword nerf is a bit subjective because I happen to have the power cycler blessing. With it, it still feels stronger than probably every single melee weapon in the game. The problem really is that power cycler is a super super rare blessing, and that such a game changer blessing shouldn’t have existed in the first place. It is a bit too strong of a blessing and is too unfair for those who don’t have it. Problem is, they can’t remove it now, and are stuck with it. If they remove it, all the players that have spent hundred of hours farming specifically this blessing - and obtained it - will feel like FS is really spitting in their faces.

Question is: are there other blessings that totally change the gameplay of a weapon and that are needed for it to perform well? Things like “brutal momentum” and “infernus” immediately come to mind, for instance. However, those blessings have different tiers, and thus are more broadly available. the rarity of the higher tiers only increasing the level of the bonus it gives. “brutal momentum” have 4 tiers: you can find tier 1 and 2 in the armoury exchange. For “infernus”, it is a bit harder because it only has tier 3 and 4. Still, tier 3 “infernus” feels waaay less out of reach than “power cycler”!

—> Why not adding a tier 3 “power cycler” that gives one more empowered attack instead of the two extra attacks given by the tier 4? I have tested it in damnation high intensity with my T4 “power cycler”, pretending that I had only two empowered swings after activation, and it works well. Activate, two heavy swings, repeat. This way, you would make the blessing more easily obtainable, while still letting those who have the tier 4 have a slight bonus. Everyone happy! Think on it, Fatshark

The only thing which will ever fix the power weapons in general is a resource system / a battery. All of them should have number of charges to spend, which either should recharge over time or be replacable with ammo style batterry pickups.

You could also come with some cooldown, 100% heat while charging in fast 2-3 times in a row, or -15% damage per charged strike if you run something like powercycler on PS. (First strike 100% damage, 2nd 85% damage, 3rd 70% damage… since it´s losing chargepower over time or so.)

I mean the cons on FS / chainweapons are fine aswell. Options to have some drawbacks for hordeclear specials shouldn´t be hard to find.

Having a battery would be actually the worst possibility in my eyes. It´ll be always broken or useless, or just not player-friendly in different ways.

Good idea

My preference

I like also.

My proposal is simple to introduce.
2 swings as base + 2 swings with PC (would not mind a PC T3 with +1 swing)
And a cooldown between two activation of 3 seconds

I will repeat it here… The PS with PC is really strong… Too much

Careful now. These suggestions might be too radical. Some “influencer” is going to call us “forum warriors, losers, weirdos, elitists and idiots”. Just quoting a creator, not my words :upside_down_face:

Ironically, he is on the ball when he stops venting and talks about the RNG and how he would fix it.

If the great malding of patch #7 breaks the damn crafting locks then, by God, let the rage flow.

Or maybe there should be just flat damage redcution for energized stirkes with PC. Damage reduction should be signifficant at some point so you can’t fully compensate it with rampage. So you choose between higher damage, frequent reactivations VS lower damage, but longer duration
