Literally the title. In my opinion there is so much missing from this game and so many misguided design descisions present to the point where I implore you to either call it an early access, because that’s what this is gonna be at the 30th November or just postpone the release another year. If this is gonna be the full release state then I guarantee I will not be the only one to refund.
There are things missing from the game and that’s their plan. They are releasing the game in stages so once we are at the final release date, we will all have the full game.
With the amount of stuff missing in terms of Ui alone and the combat feeling as fluid as a slideshow this is simply untrue. This is an unfinished halfbaked product and it is not just a matter of stuff missing entirely but also vital aspects of parts that have already been implemented either being horribly designed or incomplete. Those aren’t issues that you fix with further releases, but further developement and I am not willing to pay for a game whose feature set is essentially early access.
Me personally - I’ll wait and see throughout the preorder beta, whether they address any of those gripes suffienctly (mainly combat being really clunky) and if they don’t I’ll refund and see in two years whether they’ve improved or not.
I’ve been voicing the same thing to my mate yesterday.
I can excuse technical bugs as release comes up.
What I can’t excuse are systems that reveal of poor design when there have been better similar systems designed by the same developpers (or other games as well bc there is no hubris, right?)
So we paying only the amount of money for the stages that are currently finished?
This going to be a 250 bucks game?
I support the motion and i would suggest that every customer gets 20 bucks in premium currency back as the current game seems as a 20 bucks product not a 40 one.
This is also a good notion why i would not recommend this game to friends as the price does not fully reflect the amount of content and polish you get compared to other games or games already out on the market. But one could argue that this is now AAA territory and EA does it too so…
It means that we are currently not playing the full release version. The further into the beta, the more stuff gets added until everything gets added in the release version.
I’m down for them delaying it as long as I can keep playing with my buds.
Pretty much this for me. But I seriously doubt they’re going to delay any more. They pretty much need to hit the Xmas season. The last delay gave them as much time as was possible in 2022.
Now, they’re publishing the game themselves so in theory the power to delay rests with them as opposed to an external publisher. I just don’t see that happening.
The problem i have is, its not the missing content thats the issue here. its the mechanics of the game itself that are a problem.
-Ranged and melee combantents still need tuning, ranged units are brutal with their stagger and knock backs, and the amount of damage they are doing to players.
-Class tuning is needed, a lot of the classes feel lack luster or are just out right broken or dont flow at all, or becuase of the way enemies work in the game, you end up getting shoe horned into one style of play and thats it. Example being ogryn basically play a slab shield tank in higher difficulties because its really the only thing to do.
-Extreme balance issues with rezing players, being near impossible to do since ranged and melee interrupt you, and you dont get to block melee like you do in VT. Meaning if you are in the middle of a horde, emeries are still around, or in an endless wave section you need minimum 2 people to rez one person if you are NOT the ogryn.
-Animations are causing issues, things like always having to ready your weapon in beofre you can shoot make some weapons completely unusable or viable in the game. Great example of this is the vets laz gun with the charged up shot, if you do not have it out when you use your ability you waste almost half the time of your ability just getting the gun ready.
-Lack of animation canceling. This is resulting in combat feeling SUPER sluggish, and like wielding a mallet.
There are just so many mechanical problems with the game, not just technical issues. The biggest being, Fatshark for some reason decided to try and reinvent the wheel here. All the community wanted, and needed was literally take every mechanic you had in VT2 and bring it into warhammer 40k, thats it, thats all that needed to be done, but instead we got a lot of things that just leaves me wondering WHY, why did they do this?
