Poll: What should the devs focus on?

That’d be interesting to see. I don’t doubt it’s more significant than the hero power change would call for. I just wanted to underline that the buff to enemies attack speed and damage is completely unjustified.

Is Geneviève Dieudonné a gold order apprentice ? If yes, this is the character we need. If no, forget her.

Wait, did someone say Skink? My bot alerted me.

@Froh, Gold Order would be cool, but I’m all about that Astromancy life. :dark_sunglasses: I wanna Chain Lightning a horde and scream “UNLIMITED POWWWEEER!”

Nah, but seriously, the first thing I want to see is stability issues fixed, so I can actually play again. Maybe the last hotfix helped, but I’ve not been seeing anyone saying so. Between that, how busy I’ve been, and my demoralization at this game, I haven’t gotten on to check.

Regarding the poll; weapon crafting is probably the worst system in the game - Deeds are arguably worse in terms of function, but they’re optional content, so it’s not as glaring. Fixing crafting will be important if they want to keep attracting - and keeping - new players. I have the stuff I want, and I don’t bother to reroll anymore, so it’s not that valuable to me anymore.

Mostly I want new maps. I don’t care if they’re asset-flips like Bogenhafen seemed to be. Just give me new stuff to do that actually loops into the real game. Trait and Property balancing would be nice. Talents . . . I think they took a half-step forward and six to the side with the rework, but I’m kind of afraid of having them mess with it anymore.

NEw Maps
and make the game as before patch 2.0
fix legend, it’s too difficult, hordes+patrols+monsters+500 specials all together out of thin air

Apologies I didn’t read the post properly. My bad, though I still think putting it in the poll would have served to throw impetus behind how bad we think it is. I’m seeing discussions of ‘working as intended’ and ‘it just works’ and if these aren’t bugs… well.

I really don’t want anything else, I just want the game working. After that orcs and/or versus.

I’ll put this idea into the wild: if what I hear about weave crafting system is true and it’s great integration of it into ability to craft base weapons would be a MAJOR selling point for WoM.

Yes, I think it’s true. In the Beta it was so good (and so flexible from a progression standpoint) that I took it for granted that they’d be bringing something like it to the base game.

I think making a main systems update be tied to a DLC is a bad idea, though.

Nah, what I’m thinking is alternative crafting system that gives you chance to make stuff using weave resources with weave specific skins tied to it.

I don’t hate core crafting, though QoL is needed, but having alternative even if it’s behind paywall. All you need is to make seasonal weave be rewarding with new illusions and weaves refarmable at whatever difficulty you can play them.

To be perfectly honest. I’d rather just have the weave crafting ported over. And I say this with 100+ red dust and all reds. Just give us that system for the base game and completely get rid of the old one with storing weapons and rerolling.

You unlock the weapons from leveling up or DLC challenges, same way they’re unlocked now. Once you have them, you pick what stats you want based on your level. So if your max level, you can have max stats regardless if you have a red weapon or not.

Then just leave the loot boxes in game but only have cosmetics in them. Simple, easy, effective. And this way you won’t have people playing for hundreds of hours and still not have a max Stat weapon that they want.

Buy most importantly, it could open up new breakpoints. Maybe you only need 6% skaven to 1 shot skaven specials? Then you can put the rest into chaos and infantry to hit leech breakpoints and so on. It would be such a better system.

WoM is to Vermintide what DoW3 was to Dawn of War series.

They spent what, 9 months to make a game mode nobody wanted. Now they will spend another 3-6 months to fix it.
And any of you expects them making new content in that time? Uhh, sure…
One content drought will chain into another one while they try to unf*ck what WoM created.

I think you’re probably right. I’d like them to just abandon Weaves instead of sinking more into them. Slash the price of the DLC, focus on bug fixes and creating some actual new content - even just a single free map from recycled assets would be a great peace offering. Finally fixing broken game systems is another big deal.

Plus, they are a company, so they will have at least some consideration going into what they’ll bring down the line. Never a bad time to point out what you want in the future, I think.

Not how it’ll go, I’m think they’ll spend more time on Weaves, but we can hope.

…that is uncomfortably accurate.

@Argonaut14
i like this idea you had. if the devs started really considering it then im a tad bit worried that someone at their table would cheerfully suggest micro-transactions in game … at first for cosmetics but later pay to win stuff. i dont know. i really like your idea but just something about this starts giving me a nervous feeling…

I think at this point what i’d prefer more than anything is for them to trim the game of some of its fat. They spread out in too many directions with the game’s design and despite it being way too late I find myself wondering how much more unique the careers would have been allowed to feel if there were only two per character. Certainly it would have been easier for them to come up with appropriate talents for each, no more putting in really bizarre niche choices just to meet 3 per row. I suppose the alternative could be changing the number of talents a career has, but I suspect people would hate to lose those options, too - even if some characters do still have fairly restrictive options.

Since those are both 100% a no-go, I was partially wondering how useful it’d be to enforce more weapon restrictions between a character’s careers. You could start balancing them around who they’re allowed for to give them just as much value as another weapon without it feeling redundant. Weapons that are struggling can be made really useful and built around a career and its talents/passives, perhaps in a less hamfisted way this time.

Personally, I think the whole ‘building for breakpoints’ thing is tiresome because if it’s a thing the weapon can do reliably then people are obviously going to build for it - in the same way that swift slaying and stacking crit chance has been the most consistently useful way to play because of how effortlessly the aggression loop is rewarded. I would be happy with the removal of properties alltogether, perhaps making some of them permanent effects on weapons by default(less headaches, more getting into the game for smashing rats; obviously I would also like to see all of these qualities listed in the game somewhere so I don’t have to look them up elsewhere).

At that point you’re free to just give characters more minor traits to work with instead, stuff like from the first game but with the power of hindsight being able to adjust the ones that were also really dominant there. Actually fixing the ones currently in the game, too. I used to love the first game’s version of heroic intervention(safety in numbers?), and in this one it’s evidently a waste of an item slot. If you have enough item slots per weapon like in the first game, even the strong traits won’t feel restrictive because you’d still have a couple other spots to pick more niche options to suit your playstyle. At the very least I think more general traits would benefit the game a lot more than ‘crit chance’ or ‘+stamina’ - not when those things could and should just be on weapons by default. If nothing else, please remove ‘curse resist’. I can’t imagine anyone has ever enjoyed having this in the game, although now that i’ve said it i’m sure someone is going to prove me wrong.

I just hate how boring time in the keep is. The less I see of the place, the better. Relatedly, since i’m still asking for stuff from the first game, maybe we could also get the end-screen from that to just retry the map or pick a new one instead of having to load in and out of the keep like a bunch of idiots. It’s been a year and a half - i’m okay with cutting that part out at this point.

Trimming the fat would be:

vanilla map play - base maps with nothing on top
modded map play - base maps with any modifier to be selectable currently existing in the game, including winds
weaves - for those who crave these

And this would still fragment according to difficulty.

IMO - other than an effective rebalancing of the systems post 2.0, I believe that maps and cosmetics are what will keep players returning (just look at Payday 2 for example). Perhaps open up the workshop to user created cosmetics that get officially sanctioned by FS? There’ll be no shortage of talented players submitting content.

lolol

With the state of sanctioning mods that already are robbing passionate players of QoL?
I mean no disrespect, but it sounds like a terrible idea given sanctioning mods isn’t happening, clearly improving players experience is very low on the priority list. (Unless you want to boast on the cheaterboards over the rest of us plebs, that they prioritize. :> )

I’m completely baffled why are they still refusing to add new cosmetics/skins. I swear to god, if I could ask them only one question and get an honest answer, it would be that one.

MAXIMAL focus to gief people reason to play content.

What FShark can do:

1. Events: Awesome concept low reward, improve it (its cannot to be same reward as normal map)
2. Catacyslm: Legend chest after big trouble just not go along.
3. Deeds: awesome feature but need its own category in group finder
4. Weaves: make spacial cosmetic which has chance to drop in weaves only, biger number, better chance. gief people reason to play weaves.
5. Paragon levels rewards: It will be nice if gief portait if someone over-level +50 right?, or at least “something”.
6. In additon: Add alot of cosmetic in game: hats, jackets, portaits, make some of them regular drop but also make some of them ultra rare, also make some cosmetic to have better chance with dificulty.
7. New enchants: sure why not but not buff players and nerf content in process, be careful !

8. More keep decorations: Add mason NPC in keep, backstory; Franz: “there is dire times, anything descended in madness this keep is your only safe home in world, lets try to make it cozzy there is rich guy who lost his family he offers one brick to each slayed enemy, Olysha will teleport brick in, talk to him to collect bricks and repair keep”. This will add some flavour and customization, anyone will like to repair different part of keep.

-If you out of ideas employ me please

-If you do that Im sure people will have significant reason to keep going throustrong text content, and it they wont get bored even after long time if done correctly.
