(Poll) In regards to grinding in the itemization rework

No reason for RNG at all.

If we can upgrade the stats anyway, the why RNG them?

It makes no sense.

Exactly because itā€™s the progenitor, the following games gave more depth to gameplay addig classes and weapon upgrades. Letā€™s not confuse havig evrything maxed out with having no weapon customization at all.

Of those games I can only give you partial credit for GTFO.

I donā€™t like the RNG stats part either. The most interesting part of this game for me is going for the breakpoints. But the mastery progression system to unlock all the blessing and being able to get any combination of blessings and perks that I want is great!

I would not. The amount of over 370 that Iā€™ve gotten wasnā€™t even close to enough, especially since all but 3 of them have had damage as their dump stat. Respectfully, screw having the base stats of weapons be RNG dependent, and if what I think of the new system is true, screw having the maximum power of a weapon be RNG.

Padding and addiction. If weā€™re going to eventually get the ā€˜maximumā€™ rolls anyways, itā€™s there to artificially extend the play time chasing that item and to give the addicts their dopamine hit whenever they get it.

Man we can go for circles on this but thereā€™s no point, so to make it succinct: Vermintide was more fun when you had everything maxed and could freely switch between setups without issue; thereā€™s also a reason why Chaos Wastes is such a popular mode since it completely bypasses the progression systems and instead gives you strong gear via playing and interacting with the game not by grinding; just like in Left 4 Dead where you found weapons by playing.

I dont mind putting in time to get something as long as the end result is guaranteed and not left to RNG. So long as they fix that I donā€™t mind if it takes a while to max the weapon.

That is the problem with whole god damn industry. When will people learn that there should be no artificial mechanic to extend game play. The game should be good enough from the offset and that people will want to continue playing, because itā€™s good fun.

Itā€™s the idiotic BS that has happened to gaming recentlyā€¦

I donā€™t have a problem with crafting involving going out to collect resources etc, it kinda makes sense, but it shouldnā€™t be there to artificially extend play time, it should be there to enhance the game and something that fits in with the lore of the game.

The poll is asking, how much work you would want to put in after reaching lvl 30 as a new player.
None of the options make the suggestion to reset or not to reset any of the progres that players made before a change to the system.

Your suggested option is not relevant to the poll.
It would require a separate poll about a different question.

Agreed, and this system will work exactly like in Vermintide, once you get your 380 weapon you are set to go for life. Not to mention this is very similar to how the athanor worked, the most praised crafting system to my knowledge.

Would be great if the new system had a way to re arrange the stats of the weapon as you see fit, to mitigate the borderline situations you mentioned. Still to my experience, i get a 370ish weapon around evry 100kis spent, being mission rewards at 40k each even not doing side missions, you should get a 370 evry 3 succesful missionā€¦ Once I got lucky enough i donā€™t have to worry about it anymore. One layer of RNG vs 5 layers itā€™s a big improvement.

It isnā€™t. Anthanor didnā€™t have randomness to its design. All stats are set and highly customizable. Youā€™re not rolling on anything:

Traits are also automatically unlocked:

Every single trait is available with no obfuscation layer.

As for the mastery essence, if you already played Cataclysm you would have naturally accrued a ridiculous amount since any level played in Cata grants essence. I have over 3 million just from playing:

On top of also having every single thing unlocked with the system too.

Itā€™s very relevant to the poll. The present poll suggests that everyone is happy to re-grind the blessings they already have. Iā€™m not, and I doubt Iā€™m alone on this one.

Except of the stats part you will have evrything available to you just by playing the game.

No it does not. As i said, this question is not covered by the poll at all.
Stop making things up.

Itā€™s very relevant to the poll. The present poll does not give an option to indicate that you are not happy to re-grind the blessings you already have. Iā€™m not, and I doubt Iā€™m alone on this one.

Happy now?

The difference in this though is that people already spent a lot of their time on Darktideā€™s dystopian casino system; thus Fatshark should honor time spent and not force people to re-grind all over again. I sincerely feel for the players that invested into Darktideā€™s system only to have that invalidated by the upcoming rework. Itā€™s a very simple fix: either make the itemization part of the core leveling experience so everything is unlocked by max level or donā€™t force people to grind.

Itā€™s in bad taste to be told to go grind.

You have testimonials in this very thread of people saying they are not going to be happy if theyā€™ll be forced to grind on the lower difficulties with subpar weapons just to get back to where they were originally.

I think you probably do not understand the words that we are using here.

Is the question ā€œdo you want to keep your progress, or would you be fine with a partial/full reset?ā€ relevant?
Yes it is.

Is the question relevant in the context of this specific poll, which is asking something that is completely independent of that?
No it is not.

Not a single option mentioned in the poll, suggests that anything would be reset or that anyone would be for or against reseting anything that is already earned.

The poll specifically asks about what people would like as progresion WHEN REACHING LVL 30 AS A NEW PLAYER.
That automatically means that your opinion on reseting or not reseting previously earned progress is completely irrelevant to this question.

I understand it fully, but the first poll if any we should run is ā€œAre you happy to lose some progression such as blessing etc due to the new itemisation system being introduced?ā€ ā€œYes or Noā€.

You question is absolutely important, I think we are just might be missing important data about how players feel about the new system transition.

its really hard to say without actually trying the system.

but of things i know ie the game is perfectly playable with base grey weapons im not particularly worried.

They should, and they have said that they would take in consideration the time invested. @Hank_jw himself, even not being able to discuss much because under NDA tried to reassure us.

And regardless of the existing players situation this update represents a huge step up in all the future weapons acquisition.
I know that faith in Fatshark is at his lowest possible, but right now have a great trak record of getting things right so I feel I must be fair and give them credit when itā€™s due.

I understand but If we see something as a possible issue, i.e them still wanting to retain RNG, the whole spending 5-8 hours per weapon family, the whole infatuation with grind; these types of issues, well, we need to make it abundantly clear that this can be a problem. I know you may or may not agree with me but this is about making sure Fatshark gets it right this time.
