You dropped like two posts in this thread alone doing just that.
The reality is that I can deliver an argument along with an insult. “Ad hominem” is deriving an argument from an insult, so you can say that if you want but it doesn’t apply. I also don’t veil them, I straight up asked you if you’re just here to have a whinge about evil scoreboard nazis.
You’ve yet to actually engage with the point that scoreboards cause toxicity. You’re more interested in discussing how much you don’t like people who like scoreboards. I pointed that out. You consistently keep dropping every point that actually relates to the scoreboard causing toxicity. Like the mention of how VT2 wasn’t really more toxic than DT when it came to rushers and kill chasers is totally ignored in favor of discussing personality traits.
As is often the case, I think people like you who see negativity and malice everywhere are very negative and malicious themselves.
Yeah, delivering a sound argument that might have some mean words in it is better than just veiled insults. It shows that you’re actually trying to contribute to the debate, and it can even enhance the dialogue. Sometimes to be truthful you just have to be brutal.
I do my best on these Forums to regulate myself, I really do. I just can’t stand it when people opt to resort to an emotional involvement regarding a Topic as their entire argument and THEN proceed to refuse to address another’s concerns, input or inquiries. Stuff like this is EXACTLY why I have those mean inner commentary that contrasts with what I actually say on these Forums.
I personally find the VT2 official one way better than the one modders made. I appreciate they made it but it’s hard to read and ugly, and I ended up disabling all the needless bloat statistics like “amount of time ammo crate held” (who cares) anyways and ended up with the same stuff the VT2 one shows.
Give me a crisp, clean scoreboard with pertinent info that’s accessible in the morning star with green circles including circles on who took the most damage/died the most. I want to know! I want to know and i want the options to adjust my scoreboard so i can see the relavent info i want to see.
Give me the meanest, forum discourse destroying scoreboard possible. Give me a scoreboard that makes me feel bad inside and insults my mother I would literally rather know how well or bad i did in a mission.
Speaking of statistics, something I want a lot is a statistics page/NPC that can tell you things like how many times you died total, which class you die the most on, which weapon you have the most kills/highest winrate with, etc etc. I love that kind of stuff, I still remember when TF2 would show you those things on loadscreens. Very cool
Just cause I’m bad at expressing what I mean, something like this but with relevant stats for Darktide:
For what it’s worth I think Fatshark does already collect a lot of info of this sort, the player just can’t get it. It’s for them to aggregate and balance with
their underperformance are plainly visible, numbers or not.
numbers just make it easier to shut them bottomfeeders up once they run their mouth being made aware that they in fact were a detriment to the run.
like clutching to ressources past the tipping point, dropping every 10 feet, not killing sheet while dumping ammo into everything.
bad performance shouldnt be able to be hidden if 3 other people have to make up for it.
1 dude sucking at the game and getting pulled along being polite, fine by me.
the usual emokiddy on his zoom zealot playing absolute dog should get face planted into the very to teach him his misbehavior.
this isnt charity, there’s no mandatory place on a team for people out of their league.
far to many people were raised soft and under the illusion others have to put up with them.
i wonder how they make it through life, being a performance driven society after all…
but dont sweat it, in around 1000 matches i only had to nosedip 2-3 special cases to shut them up.
back in the day of good ol lan parties this kinda mouthing off ended reaaaally quickly btw, makes me miss the analog days
I said in the past, maybe the fix is an official personal scoreboard available to you after the match when you left the strike team, this way you can’t say boo-urns to them and they can’t either to you.
Release the kraken!
I took the liberty of pre-flagging all your posts, YW.
Yes, I want to learn from my mistakes and maybe even lend some constructive advice to others in order to help them do the same. Whether I am polite or not about said advice is really up to them, as you said:
There are obviously lines I won’t cross, but still… being nice isn’t always the most appropriate representation of kindness. I value brutal honesty over comforting deception, always.
