1800 hours later I FINALLY experienced a person talking about the scoreboard

1875 hours to be more precise. No, this isn’t a post asking for the scoreboard. I just have an extremely hard time believing the anti-scoreboard crowd and their toxicity arguments.

I am curious - how often do you guys deal with the supposed toxicity presented by the mere existence of a scoreboard?

Maybe once in 5k hours.

Even then they didn’t actually mention the scoreboard directly, just said another player (me) had not contributed much (which was true).

Edit: Number of times someone criticised other players but the scoreboard showed that they were the useless one? Many, but rare since I left Heresy.

ah this strawman will not die. how many threads over the last 3 years and its still going strong. our arguments against the scorboard are not toxicity.

That’s an interesting take because every single reply on those posts has 100% devolved into an argument involving toxicity and the worry of being compared to others.

To be honest, I had a direct experience that I used to scoreboard against a player who was bullying someone else about their performance (like really bad bullying). Once the facts were laid out, he went very quiet. only once in 3k hours tho.

On the main topic, I think the issue is being inflated by a small number of users. That’s just my feeling.

I think what’s toxic is when I want my character to say “for the emperor” and they say something bogus like “for Atoma”

we are rejects from a prison ship and are all mostly from a different planet, I have a hard time believing we are on board to save Atoma rather than just trying to stay alive for the inquisition.

Did you mean: Cryonic Rod?

Yup, it’s just a small number of people who keep claiming the issue was players using the score board to shame others. We all know it wasn’t but they won’t accept the reality. New players were chasing green circles and the new player experience sucked because of it.

Its the same argument that people try to use to defend alt+f4 abuse.

In 2160 hours of gameplay never not even once, I have only seen people say positive things though that isn’t common either.

Guilty of using the scoreboard to say positive things. When I see someone absolutely crush it, I like to send a compliment at the end about how much damage they did, or how little damage they took.

yeah because of the pro scoreboard side continually going there no matter how few people say.

well ive been very vocal in most of those threads and apparently you never read a single one of those posts

Strawmen all the way down. It’s really sad.

Statistical feedback is good. Statistical feedback should be part of the base game. If a player feels strong negative emotions about the feedback, there’s a good chance they should drop a difficulty level. That’s not toxic, that’s just logical.

If the truth is your enemy, that is something to think about.

Agreed with a slight addition, accurate complete reliable statistical data, in the hands of a wide group of experts, can be good.

the issue i have is that the a scoreboard is none of these. Inaccurate redundant and miss leading stats are of no use to anyone.

exactly!

I would love to see Power DI in the base game, it’s actually useful. New players chasing green circles is not useful, and it is actually toxic to how the game should be played… aka, why it was removed.

3k hours - nobody ever mentioned the scoreboard,
besides me and that was telling another guy he did an awesome job
and I know that guy personally.

In 2.5 years, only once.

Some guy was boasting top damage. I had to tell him his 2K damage taken is like falling off a tree and hitting every branch on the way down.
