yet there are people who defend that system is great and they have no issues with. if that bunch of people also buys cosmetics then FS has their work cut out for them
The thing I’m most curious about is the chinese market. I don’t know if we can get much info on them, but I have a feeling the reason they’re taking so long with addressing crafting is because it’s doing well in china. Is it possible to dev 2 different versions of the crafting system for two markets?
Yeah, of course it is. I wonder how they’re handling all the 40k skulls otherwise.
So, in order to make an ‘unbiased’ poll, you need to word things very specifically. E.G. you have 4 options. You have a strongly against, against, strongly in favor, in favor. However, you have them worded wrong.
“I dislike everything about the crafting system and it needs to be reworked” This is your strongly against.
“I dislike most of the crafting system” This is your against.
“I dislike certain parts of it but I like it overall” This is your in favor.
“I like the crafting system as it is” This is your strongly in favor.
There is no neutral option.
So, looking at this, you have 3 separate “I dislike” as your start. Even the in favor option starts with ‘I dislike.’
Simply put, your poll is strongly biased against the crafting system. Which, I agree with that premise, but it doesn’t make for a neutral poll.
An unbiased poll would be something like this:
I strongly dislike the crafting system.
I dislike the crafting system.
My opinions on the crafting system are neutral.
I like the crafting system.
I strongly like the crafting system.
I have no opinion on the crafting system.
These options don’t suggest the system is bad, they can express the degree of how bad things are without leading the person you’re polling. I could ‘dislike certain parts of it but I like it overall,’ but think it needs a rework. Which would naturally draw me to the only option that posits reworking.
Plus, if I think the crafting system is perfect, ‘I like the crafting system as it is,’ isn’t very strong in this assertion and could draw people away from this answer, searching for a stronger agreement. Which isn’t there.
End result is the poll is definitely biased and would be thrown out of a scientific questionaire.
That said, my personalized answer would be: “I dislike the crafting system so much that I quit the game over it, and refuse to play it because of the crafting system.”
Not gonna lie. I don’t like it. Way too much randomness required and unnecessary effort.

I made a comment on somebody else’s mention of the inherent bias, but the thing is there’s not enough bias here to swing it into the 95% range of disfavor that it’s in. I don’t think the lack of a neutral option tips the scales much. The individual metrics can be off by like 5%, but the overall disfavor is overwhelmingly beyond the point of bias, so it’s really rather moot to try and make an argument that the bias is creating an influential impact on the outcome (considering the point of the poll is to outline the overall satisfaction rather than create specific data points for individual metrics).
Somethings I got lucky with, Others, not so much.
Some weapons with specific configs are far harder to attain than others.
The most significant example that comes to my mind, is that I created my zealot to specifically use thunder hammers.
Well an ideal thunder-hammer has a lot of requirements, stats in the right places, right perks, Thrust being mandatory, slaughterer/Headtaker being the best complements and every other blessing being hot garbage.
Closest I’ve managed to get to that is an Ironhelm with a locked skullcrusher. I’ve tried multiple times to attain the upgrade, many resources, who knows how many hours down the drain. Even now I do not have a Crucis that comes close to that Ironhelm, and Hadron sure seems to love bricking all the Crucis’s I give her.
I ask someone I know, how did he come by his Thunderhammer, he says, I spent about 4 million dockets on brunts to get bases, then I spent about 30-40k plasteel and this was the outcome. First off, I can’t begin to imagine the amount of time required to attain that amount of capital to replicate this, But secondly even if I did, it’d be horrible.
On the one hand, if successful, I just spent stuff that takes ages to earn for a singular weapon as I wanted it, which is abysmal. On the other hand, if I spent all that and didn’t get what I wanted at the end, I’d just not touch the game anymore.
Some people get lucky and attain the ideal setups everyone knows and talks about by sheer accident, and some people manage to circumvent it via brute force, therefore highlighting how abysmal it is to replicate this process with multiple characters, and some people try to brute force it, get nothing, and just walk away.
If ever there was a system that made people get pissed off over someone elses good luck, or made people depressed over their own luck, this is it.
I don’t believe it’ll get revamped anytime soon, that’s asking for too much. But they know what they can do to alleviate the frustration for a long long time. There’s just no indication they will do just that.
Damn straight!
Welcome to the battle.
I mentioned it earlier above…
Although it doesn’t account for “neutral feelings” but if you’re completely indifferent, the poll doesn’t matter to you to even answer or read on the topic. And neutral/indifference in this context I think is the same. As well as that for a major system in your video game taking up most of the out of game experience and hub, if you have neutral/indifferent feelings towards it… that is a failure for the developers. Anything in the game you buy for fun you are indifferent to that is a major and necessary component that necessitates your interaction is a failure for you as well as them.
It’s a system you don’t get to spend much time in.
If you spend 15 mins to bulk buy same weapon, filter out to keep ones with decent stats.
Next crafting perks/blessings to start the RNG.
Those 15 mins of crafting is equivalent of hours of mission time to recouperate the dockets/materials spent. So not really spending much time crafting, having fun trying new builds.
It’s few hours doing missions. Then few minutes to use up the entire earned dockets/materials.
In Division 2 I would spend hours and more time on putting on builds, try out in testing area. More time doing that than in actual missions itself. Endless variety. It made the gameplay loop more interesting to try out different approaches with new builds.
Relative to outside missions, crafting takes the most amount of time out of all other hub activities. If you don’t have the perk re-roll mod you can spend significantly longer ![]()
Haha fun ways to play. Some people buy from armory until they get one weapon something near 380. Then work on it.
I bulk buy until I get few of that weapon near 380. Then go through crafting variants of the same weapon to try different perks/blessing combos. i.e. one butcher 3 with defensive blessings and another butcher 3 with offensive blessings. One of each weapon is not enough for me. I want variants of the same weapon!
Well the no cost re-roll does take the longest. But you know what I mean it’s not an enjoyable task. Longer for the sake of being longer. But maybe it’s like their own idea of a mini game, you’re not losing dockets/materials but you’re losing time in your life, maybe that’s the trade!
It’s like RPG games with open world, fetch quests. People love to say you can get 100hrs out of this RPG! Yea but it’s mostly long for the wrong reasons.
Or Hearts of iron 4. In C&C you can set units to guard mode for an area, few clicks, but in Hearts of Iron 4 you have to follow a system of assignments and orders. Complexity for the sake of complexity.
Taking longer to achieve same thing…
Yeah, my personal record with Reroll Until Rarity is 451 attempts for 25% Flak…
I am not clicking 451x2 times while listening to Haddy. Sorry FS.
Imagine what console players will do without mods if FS doesn’t create a builtin solution to this.
As per: Can you at least give a ballpark on the Xbox release? - #8 by FASAStampede
The memes. We are not ready. FS are not ready…
It will be glorious.

It’s that 22.5% toughness regen. Finally, ugh I want 30% regen. Lets keep going, 22.5% again!
Yay 15% sniper resistancec. Ah man, just had a curio with 20% sniper resistance… Let me reroll spam the other one to get 20% as well. It was fun first few times…
Also you want to mute the “PRAISE THE #@$!#@@”.

Can you imagine if they port the current state of PC over to Xbox. Probably that’s what is holding back PC development alongside.
Missed opportunity of this whole time exclusivity for Playstation though.
They would definitely tone down the AI director for Xbox due to lack rapid movement or allow native support of mouse and keyboard.

This is why cross-play won’t exist I think.

Yea true. In Rainbow Six Extraction PvE Coop crossplay. I saw alot of console mid-mission rage quitters (It shows their platform symbol next to their names). That game was way more difficult than Darktide.
Division 2 PvE Coop when initially release, it isn’t cross play. But console players said the raids had exact same difficulty as PC for enemies health and DPS, so they toned it down.
I mean have already have several difficulties, so not a bad thing if consoles faced the same challenges. Just give them extra magic powers that keyboard/mouse do not have…Aim Assist ![]()
Rookie numbers… I had over 1200 when I wanted 30% toughness reg.
Poor console players are not ready for the 3h marathon to reroll just a single perk
