I have 2500+ hours. My desire to play the game has never waned until Ogryn and Arbites updates. We’ve just got too many broken levels of OP in the game right now.

I remember playing KF1or Left4Dead, and when someone severely underlevelled/unskilled joined the high difficulty and died instantly, they would get laughed at and vote-kicked. But now, thanks to the “modern” mentality, it is a skill issue on your end for not wanting to carry leeches.

I legit haven’t seen a single successful vote-kick in Darktide, even when the guy was openly griefing. For example, during the first Havoc season a guy was doing very poorly in a 30+ LVL run, he died like 3 times in a row during the final section of the Smelter, and when I pinged the objective and medkit and typed “GO HERE” in caps, he started non-stop raging in the voice chat, because me and other Zealot “do not help him with the horde”. He just stood afk (there was no point in rescuing him) and whined in the chat. And my teammates were confused why I want to kick him

Either way, this goes two-ways sadly. There are plenty of boomers who compulsevily try to blame-shift on the one who points at the problem with their smug “maybe it’s you the cause” comment. Remember how stealth + knife Zealot broke and still break the game by doing nothing but dump extra aggro on the team while running around and stabbing random poxwalkers? Well, apparently it is a skill issue on my part and I just want to be babysitted, that what boomers tried to convince me on this topic  It couldn’t be that I don’t want to output x2 of the intended damage and do all the job while the knife Zealot watches from the cuck corner and comes in to “clutch” in the situation they created

Your experience in Malice and Heresy has nothing to do with balance changes, it’s simply due to the poor quality of players. Please keep that in mind.
This isn’t limited to this game; most players have no real desire to improve and aren’t trying to get better. They just want something easy and fun, and that’s enough for them.

I can’t speak for Europe or America, but in the Asian region where I usually play, cultural tendencies make it rare to find truly cooperative players.
Most people only care about themselves. If a mission fails, they blame others or even throw insults. If they go down or die, they quickly abandon the mission and move on to the next match.
It’s full of selfish players who give up easily, so expecting high-quality teammates from random matchmaking is a waste of time.

If you need supportive teammates on lower difficulties, I strongly recommend finding like-minded friends through Discord or similar communities.

As for me, I’ve always had the mindset that if a mission fails, it’s my fault, if I were better, I could have carried the whole thing on my own.
I’ve never expected anything from other players. Even when I’m the last one standing, I’ve never relied on OP. I’ve simply honed my knowledge and skills through effort and experience.
To be extreme, if you can get good enough to solo every mission, then your gameplay experience will no longer be ruined by the actions of others.

lets say the conversation was on the short end
but i answered the door a bit too late, they threw the flyer in my mailbox already :joy:
heretics !

playing with buddy pirx helps shift the majority, we use it very sparingly though.
really remember i can one psyker with artifact-name, totally oblivious to the game as a whole and not getting into the airlock.

well, poof he went.
there was one other, ages ago but i cant recall what class it was…

otherwise we use “it” as comedic relief and something to spice runs up.
couldnt tell what they talk about when the mic symbol flashes up, everyone´s a mute for me :face_without_mouth:

Last one I saw was actually me when I just started playing. Still in Heresy I think. Just randomly kicked ~5mins into a mission, no explanation, no chat beforehand, nothing had really even happened yet.
I assume it was a premade because I had nothing else to go on.

Last one I tried was an, i assumed, griefer. Could have maybe been having issues. But they didn’t move or chat for a solid 5 mins as we all waited in an elevator. No one else would vote for the kick so I left.

Egh, I dread the day when I would have to hop onto Havoc to have challenging combat…
I would have to deal with BS lobby system, rank decay, lobby host who would kick me for not using what he like, teammates that I might not even be able to communicate with because it’s Asia server.

I used to stick with just Damnation before since I like to have some chill matchs before doing other stuff, but after the powercreep hit I moved to Auric and now I still have to race with other player to get to kill something.

We were happy too before the game’s combat flow and nuance got destroyed by powercreep.

Is that what agreeing with people is to you? I don’t think that’s warranted at all. I’m done responding to you, obviously you’ve closed yourself off to reason since the moment that you started flinging ad hominems at people. Heck, I should’ve just let you be and not given you the pleasure of engagement. It was good entertainment while it lasted, at least. Buona giornata.

LOL, of course you don’t need permission. It just makes you a piece of… work …like you’ve demonstrated clearly.

I’ll still be playing in a year (most likely). You’ll be done when they nerf your “fun.”

I’d offer to exchange character names with you to block so we don’t meet, but I don’t think I’ll have that problem if Arbites can’t get you past damnation.

Absolutely the same on EU for me, before the Arbites and mission board rework Auric was pretty much unplayable because people just joined, died and left. I don’t remember when was the last time I played an Auric mission from start to finish with the same teammates. Backfilling into the doomed runs several times in a row didn’t help either. Havoc 20-30 has unironically been easier than Auric because the randoms there (usially) actually play the game.

As was discussed in other thread, if we could see the status of the mission we’re about to drop into and the gear used by the players, that would eliminate a lot of frustration. I certainly woudn’t take Lasgun ES Vet even into the “easy mode” Auric if I know that half of the team is currently dead and/or using like green gear with the worst build possible. This actually raises the question why these situations are STILL so common when the game has apparently became “too easy”.

Darktide is a game that emphasizes complex combat and skill-based gameplay, and that’s exactly why it has attracted players who enjoy that kind of challenge. More than being drawn to the 40K or Warhammer IP itself, many are likely here because they’re captivated by the combat system Fatshark created. That’s why, even though the game was released in a broken state, even though updates are slow, and even though Fatshark has betrayed our expectations time and time again, people complain loudly, but very few actually quit. Because there simply isn’t another game like this on Earth.

And now, the game we love is being ruined by beginners who just started playing recently, and by lazy players who think “it’s just a PvE game, as long as it’s fun, who cares.” If this game collapses, there’s no replacement. We either go back to VT2 or give up entirely. So of course there’s going to be strong backlash. To me, this is a war.

I’d actually kill for a clutch opportunity as of late.

Funny enough, the last Auric anything I failed was no-Arbites of course.

It was my Psyker, a ~TL 160 full ranged vet, and 2 ~TL 40 psykers on Silo Cluster Inferno mod.

All 3 of them had gone down at least once by the first med station.
I asked in chat if they were having an aha moment that “other classes weren’t as braindead as Arbites.”

To my surprise, they didn’t get mad but admitted as much and were joking about it.

I took an unfortunate tumble into a pool of flames and we lost on the push to the last objective.

Still more fun than walking the dog and picking up their waste.

agreed,
worst of all is the “noon-shift”, for various reasons my “awake and there time” circles around 12-20:00, at one point drowsiness takes over.

and boy oh boy, the material you get at daytime is… something else :joy:

so basically when cortisone wont let me sleep i play something singleplayer at least until 12 cause before that its sheer horror… after 6-8 hours battery´s spend though so i´m not really a good teammate after that :man_shrugging:
