Played Freewkend, EasyAntiCheat and Crashes = No buy

Well, I made the link due to the fact he only joined the forums a few hours ago. And there’s other people on the steam page with the name “Captain” giving negative reviews around the same time. And since he’s asking for Anti-Cheat to be removed as well.

Well, if you refuse to try and do what the support staff are telling you to do. Not much they can do, eh? As Beardeddragon said, perhaps going through the steps on Anti-cheats website will help as well. Simply posting the GUID for the crashes and your console log/crash logs would allow the Staff to help you as well.

@beardeddragon1225 yea i booked marked them for when I get home, thanks

Please do try out what @beardeddragon1225 recommended above, in addition to repairing Easy Anti-Cheat (instructions here).

If unsuccessful, please create a post over at http://forums.fatsharkgames.com/c/tech or http://fatsharkgames.com/support. It would be appreciated if you could attach screenshots of any errors being displayed and also contain your issues in one post, which will ensure quicker response times.

no… because it was this past weekend that I reinstalled and re-validated my files for the 5th time and still crashed 9/10 games.

Consistent corruption errors can be caused by anything from a virus to mismatched RAM speeds - sometimes simply verifying integrity isn’t enough. There’s a post on it here.

will do

Wow what a cover, can’t have any issues with the game or reviews if everyone is apart of a (((HACKER GROUP))) and the developers have insider knowledge of the PLOT of giving the game bad reviews.

Well, I think that the majority of the thread might be a little tightly wound around other issues, but I think the information you might want to take away is that it could be that your data is throwing errors; perhaps it’s even the Anti-Cheat engine that needs to be reinstalled (as @FatsharkJulia has mentioned above).

@Flinlock was telling my crew about an issue similar to it last night, and some reinstallations might be necessary. However, that being said, the game is online-multiplayer, so an anti-cheat engine is practically necessary for most people to enjoy the game in peace

It also doesn’t help that Windows computers are sponges for junkware of all sorts, so it’s very easy to wind up with things running in the background that can trip EAC. Either false positives or actual bad stuff that the user is unaware of because it came bundled with something else… and if people do any modding or other more acceptable hackery with other games, those tools will of course trip EAC. Makes troubleshooting a nightmare at the very least!

Since you replied on the thread I linked, I assume you’ve read it. If you haven’t, here’s a repost,

“The person the devs are refering to openly admitted to having cheat software on his PC for other games, and had a VAC ban.”

Basically a guy was hacking, got caught, couldn’t play anymore. Got his buddies to come on and add negative reviews. You made a thread around the exact same time all of this happened, with a username that is similar to a steam review around the same time as well. I connected the dots… Apologies if it wasn’t you.

Regardless, try some of the trouble shooting listed in this thread. As I stated before, I have well over 1k hours, in a discord group with nearly 100 other players, who have around 1k hours as well. That’s a lot of game time, yet none of us have experienced this issue. Seems strange…

As promised, sent a support ticket, played for 3 hours with no issues, completedy daily quests on legend. Went to play Quiet Drink, loaded into the game.

instant crash,

Given the amount of crash reports in the technical support forums, I know for a fact my computer is not at fault and a lot of people share my problems. V1 works perfect as it always has, all my other steam games work fine, only V2 crashes incessantly, preventing me from enjoying the new map.
All the above links to try and resolve the EAC issue is typical and solves nothing. Unless the insinuation here is that a lot of the player base owns faulty hardware or more ppl are trying to cheat the game than expected.

The above crash screen is what comes up nearly every time I crash.

I just wanted to add; I tried the game over the weekend and enjoyed the game so much I bought it. It crashes a lot and connections to peers drop a lot too. I still like the game enough to keep playing, but why do people come in to threads like this only to tell people they are obviously cheating or need to run trouble shooting for the packaged anti cheat software themselves? I really hope this isn’t a general representation of the community. If people have issues with the game, why not just move on to another thread if you can’t offer a solution or add a similar experience for the devs to see? Smh.

Have you tried doing any of the trouble shooting yet? Even the simple EAC reinstall?

Try reinstalling EAC: \Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe - Repair Service

Are you expecting the Devs to remote control his PC and trouble shoot it for him? And probably because people were hacking and admitted to hacking, made statements pretty close to the OP around the same time as the OP.

I appreciate all the help but I know a thing or two about troubleshooting software. The first theories that involve reinstallation are almost always not the root cause and thus a pointless step. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to get a product to work, said product needs to work out of the gate.

I said I tried all the links provided above by Julia and another poster, everything was a fresh install and EAC repaired, only thing I’m NOT doing is reinstalling windows. I’ve already stated the logical reasons behind this. And again, I’m playing VANILLA, no mods, I can’t even play legit without crashing…

Side note:
This may be a bug? But no complaints here. I mentioned I only officially completed Quiet Drink twice, and none of them on Legendary. I noticed today that all the times I crashed trying to play the map, all the Art and Beer I collected counted and did not require me to finish the map. Thus I completed the event quests for the new portrait frames without actually finishing the map. Interesting?

If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to comment on this specific sentence.

In the instance of Vermintide 2, I agree that there is likely something else going on. The installation is really reliable. If you mean “in-general”, the reason so many people recommend it… is because it works a lot of the time.

Reinstalling is one of the best ways to fix software based issues because, for the most part, the clean-install is usually the most stable. If 99.9% of people can install it and it runs on the first attempt, it is likely that there is another variable causing the problem.

Yes I’m fully aware @Torantolis, I said I know a thing or two. The typical steps are usually checked before I start researching for forum answers. When I see loads of other ppl who share my frustration, I know I am justified when I say there’s nothing wrong with my end, it’s the game’s fault.

If these simple steps solved my issues, I wouldn’t make such a big fuss about this.
