I’m not sure if that Twitter/X comment really will end up being canon or not, but I know this, if they really are going to retcon the lore to introduce female custodes, then they couldn’t have chosen a more lazy and uninspired way of doing it.

While I dislike how they did it and apart from being annoyed, I cant say I care much about femstodies. Not something I will lose sleep over.
Im genuinely still more upset they destroyed the old world to make way for AoS. Some of the new models are absolutely mindblowing tho!

Canonically, the Emperor likes African Psyker girls who betray him… so the female Custodes are likely to just be his new besties

Yeah I’m in the same boat.
I’m not against the idea of femstodies, but I really dislike how it was done. There could have been an interesting story arc to the inclusion of them, instead they scrapped any real story telling with a retcon of “Oh they were always there even though all lore had explained it was an all boys club from the sons of noble lines or traitors from the unification wars”
That and it’s quite obvious they’re doing it for the sex appeal. The thirst is real with this retcon.

Yeah. I do find myself agreeing with you on how it was done.
If they try to do this with Astartes it would turn out SIGNIFICANTLY worse because it would bring up an INSANE amount of questions like “Why were the all of the Primarchs males?”, “Why were all of the important Astartes males until the 42nd Millennium?”, etc.
Female Astartes would logically require a female Primarch as well and the only way to do introduce female Primarchs would be to just lazily slap “female” on the lost Primarchs and somehow reintroduce them. I’m sorry, GW… but I am just NOT in favour of that happening unless you guys can actually think up a cool and enticing reason for it.
For female Custodes I can kinda just turn the other cheek… but it was still very lazy.

Kind of. It sadly also makes a portion of that half have a tantrum. Some people have a real fear of women.
One of my faves is that women are the irrational ones (although yes, there are many of those too). In my experience men can be the most irrational. I mean, just look what happens when boobaah, men turn in to apes, one of our brains turn off and we become almost a different creature.
Its at the point now where you almost cannot try and have a diverse inclusion in a game without a segment of the population (both men and women) losing their shmitt. Sometimes its understandable, especially regarding, imo, historical source material.
I often give up and just throw my hands in the air and find something more productive to think about. It will turn out alright in the end. Stress less is a motto I try to stick by.
