Playable characters

Not sure this is a Eldar Ranger.

Didnt know they use Purity Seals, but you never know right?!

I’ll go with Psyker aswell, since we need a “Mage” in this Game aswell!

NAh its not a Psyker, he has a Sniperrifle. If you look closely you can see the barrel on his lower right feet!

The hooded character is most likely an Imperium Psyker, Eldar don’t sport purity seal (would look weird when they consider the human as lower than them) and the thing he is holding is a staff (not a sniper if you look at how he is holding it

So imma guess you aint a 40k regular.
These are Inquisitorial agents

  1. Is just a sniper of some sort, in a rag.
  2. Stormtrooper possibly just a well equipped acolyte.
  3. Ogryn/Bullgryn
  4. Pyroclast due to the brazier on his back very likely a priest of the imperial cult.

If you look at his hand and how he hold his “sniper” i doesn’t make sense, i think it’s a psyker staff

Based on the head 4 looks vaguely Kriegsman-like.

Could also be a cleric given their love of cleansing flame.

I’m a 40K regular, I just don’t touch the more obscure Imperium factions since I’m an Eldar player.

I’m just going to say it outright. We don’t care about the primitives.

Ah yes, you damn space elves definitely have the moral high horse here after prancing about so hard it birthed Slaanesh.

Thank God, hoping they weren’t those generic no characters from trailer. Doubt they’d let Eldar in with inquisition but I’d hope.

For the love of The god emperor make Saltz a voice actor for dark tide too!

Youre right, that would make total sense! Good Eye!

Hey, nice to know that! What Craftworld? I played (and still have) an Eldrad themed Ulthwe army 4th edition in a nice box about 3 meters away from me.

For those worried about an Eldar being too Kerillian-like; the solution is simple, just write another character who is also Eldar. Just like an Inquisitor character could be written to be true to the role but not exactly Saltzpyre, the same could be done with an Eldar. He/She could attempt to be genuinely supportive while coming off condescending, or simply aloof and strange, or very much a straight man.

Looking forward to what they do with the guardsmen character. Could have 3 or 4 different careers based on different regiments. I’m thinking:

  • Catachan: Focus on stealth and close range weaponry (melee and flamers)
  • DKOK: Entrenchment with deployable cover and mounted weaponry
  • Cadian: Starter character with lots of versatility and skills focusing on pure firepower.

Would also like to see survivability be a mix of health, mobility, healing items, defensive gear, damage reduction and consumable armour plates which would absorb a whole hit like IB’s passive

Got my own army called the Azure Dragons
Needless to say, it’s got a lot of blue in it.

Well the Inquisition is a very varied group divised in 2 group Radical and Puritan:

Radical
There are for example a Group that is specialised in the use of Xenos against the enemy of the Imperium, be it in the form of Familiar/pet or acolyte (Usually as a Mercenary)

Puritan

They are not as accepting and anything less than human should be destroyed on sight

I think Vermintide 2 character and career system is very likely will be used.
For example:
2 - Cadian (Kasrkin?), Katachan(Melee?) e.t.c.
3 - Heavy weapon Ogryn, Melee Ogryn , e.t.c.
Like careers in Vermintide 2, to create as many characters as possible to satisfy all possible desires.

And because it is a start of the game, it is possible to create more than 4-5 characters, without conflicting with their lore. They will definitely have they own hystory and will start conversations about it.

Its probably best I post my suggestions here.

Warrior - Generalist fighter
Scum/Desperado - Dirty tricks
Tech-Priest - slow tank
Psycher - various shenanigans
Ministorium Priest - short range dps
Assassin - quick but fragile dps
Arbites - disabler and horde control

Given the spread of stuff and the ammount of material in the Dark Heresy 40k RPGs I would think it might be a good idea to base it off that stuff. That will essentially help to avoid a “codex narrow vision” as in being reduced to the codices for what we can play.

Now I got thrilled for a Dark Heresy game. :frowning:

As long as the characters are a diverse group of species, and not just human, human, human, human, human, ogryn, I would be happy.

There’s more than enough WH40K games where the entire focus is on humans.
