Plasteel, movement speed, the REAL NUMBERS, and the broken dreams of the playerbase

How many did not complain?

About 100k.

They just quit without bothering to point out the problems.

Seriously, why do you guys white knight for problems? It’s not like they stop existing because you get in the way of conversations. It’s not going to make the game more successful if you manage to blunt the complaints. It’s not going to get the players who left to return. It’s not going to make Fat Shark more money by hiding the problems.

Game needs a lot of work, and getting in the way of the calls to fix it only makes the game less successful.

why are you so dumb. most games lose a large chunk of their playerbase over the course of the first year because that’s how the game industry works. nobody’s white knighting, you’re just being totally insane. there’s no chance fatshark will listen to anyone’s reasonable complaints when you’re running all over screeching about your personal butthurt.

in conclusion, nerf zealot’s move speed. it was intended to allow them to close to melee and return faster but clearly it’s not something the playerbase is able to use so let’s spare the community the problems of bad actors by slowing them down.

Dude, you white knight for a corp that has been really lazy about fixing things in obvious need and you ask anyone else that?

dude, you made ragethread over how fast you collect mats for mostly pointless weapon reroll system. go play something that doesn’t trigger your obcession with number goes up.

The existence of problems doesn’t mean we have to agree with your proposed “fix”.

So you admit the system is terribad?

i said the reroll system is pointless, weapons are mostly fine to begin with. your need to project is bad.

lol. It’s the worst crafting in the history of gaming, and you know it, and even though you know it you defend it all the time… but even so your admissions of it’s terrible nature still bleed through.

The real question is why they won’t fix it, but hey, if they won’t fix it, maybe they will fix the other problems like plasteel gathering and run speed so we can deal with the bigger problem they won’t fix.

Prob not, but hey, might as well ask.

I know, but I still wonder why someone wants to defend the worst crafting in gaming history.

They don’t rly want and they can’t. It’s a kind of people that will argue just because they think opposing some social or community consensus makes them look cool, like some giga brain villain.

Maybe if they had a point, but they don’t, and all they can do is attack the people making the posts, which tells you everything you need to know about their stance on things.

I mostly agree with the chest, plasteel, anti lock things here.
However I would really enjoy a Human character Heavy stubber LMG like the dreg Gunners have - and if that has the lowest sprint speed (and just no mobility stat at all, replace with like cleave plz plz)

I’d be happy with being slower for awesome horde clear and ammo.
The Agripinna Braced is my fave as the closest thing but not the same.

Actually no. They left because there is too much content available and nothing to chase.
All stuff is available in first 20 hours of gameplay.
Too little of meta progression.

The craftign stuff is what it is, but I disagree everyone needs their movespeed buffed. You don’t actually provide any reasoning for this. You just keep repeating that it needs to happen. Why does it need to happen?
Movement speed is a pretty serious balance factor in this game. Being able to outrun enemies is an absolutely unparallelled defensive buff. Just putting this on every weapon will absolutely break the game and make it a joke.

Because vet/psyker/orgyrn feel slow with a decent loadout, and feeling slow is feeling bad, and feeling bad is bad for fun.

And that’s without being slow being bad for coherency, bad for team, bad for gathering.

We can already mostly outrun enemies, just not with what we’d like to bring. All this changes is we are less likely to say ‘screw darktide,’ like so many already have.

I agree.

Saying that I think that the knife like weapons have a huge advantage against other melee weapons because of that. Lowering the gap imo could help to make other melee weapons more competetive. Instead more movement speed could be distributed in each character’s tree to compensate and archive higher mobility for an investment. This way the knife would still be the fastest weapon but to reach the current knife’s mobility, the players would have to invest into the movement speed. That would also allow them to boost mobility with other weapons if they desire so and are willing to pay the price.

That would be awesome. Right now most of the vet psyker and ogryn’s weapons top out at 0.25, with many being -0.25. (note the negative.)

If we could bring what we want and manage 0.60 (columnus autogun) it would be a massive increase in utility.

And except for not ending up stuck alone, this really isn’t about the fighting. It’s about all the stuff around it, like gathering and being able to get back to the group after it. (and getting to a good spot as the fighting starts up.)

This weekend I’ll try to get some video for comparison on move speeds into this thread.

Based on what’ve suggested the knife would not be single solution to mobility on every character even though it still would be the best choice with no movement speed investment. Other weapons would be closer to each other because knife would be slower than it is right now. However players would have an option to invest more into the movement speed.

Saying that, extra mobility still should be something optional. So for example instead of being able to gain 10% extra movement speed on Vet’s tree it would be around 20% split into 4 nodes. Also the bonuses should be rather flat then percentage based and lets say one of them melee only specific. Just to give you an idea.

Anyway I’m afraid you having problem with not having time to pick up stuff or ending up stuck alone isn’t problem with the mobility but rather problem with the lack of awareness of your team mates. I feel you, you’re not alone to encounted these types of players. There are two solutions:

  1. Find at least one or more friends to play with regularly.
  2. Learn to play better so that you don’t need to rely on other players as much.

Edit: One more thing. Don’t try to keep up with people who like to rush ahead alone. Stick with players who want to stick together. Because it should be the other way around. In order to succeed, the player ahead should look back and wait for the rest of the party or return back to them if needed or die because he’s an idiot.
