I think it would be really cool if you made map selection similar to Vermintide 2. Let us pick our own levels and our own difficulty.
Many times, there is only one level 4 hazard level available for like an hour. Therefore, even when we do quickplay, my friends and I are forced to do the same level over and over again. It would be much more fun if we could just choose our levels and difficulty.
I posted something similar, asking if we could select difficulty ranges for Quick Play (1-5, 2-4, 4-5), and to be able to select/unselect things like More/Less Specials, Hounds, etc.
Seems to me that there are many flaws in the current lobby system.
Unpopular opinion, the random map options are a good thing. But, there needs to be a few absolutes. Always needs to be a grim and a script mission, and at more then one difficulty. Few other things like that.
The good on the random means I don’t have to do one mission all day because someone else figured out it was optimized and everyone just grinds that.
If they kept it like Vermintide 2, then quickplay would still be a thing. And there would be incentives to choose quickplay, such as a higher chance to get an emperors gift at the end of the mission or something along those lines.
Def need more rewards for doing things you aren’t that happy with, like more dogs, quickplay, someone else’s grim mission. Dunno why they don’t already consider special modifiers to be worth more money. Except ‘low intensity’ that might get you less… Though it shouldn’t if randomed.
that was never a problem in VT1 and VT2 so it also wouldn’t be a problem here, in VT2 the quickest map was Screaming bell and you didn’t ever see it more represented than others on the lobby browser(in my over 1.5k hours of experience) so it’s an imagined problem. The mission system as it stands now is actively hurting the game, 2 weeks and I still didn’t have a chance to play the new Throneside map on Damnation and every time a friend logged in hoping to see it on any difficulty he found nothing, people are complaining everywhere about it.
All maps should be available and you should have the option of choosing the difficulty while you don’t choose secondary objectives and modifiers just like in DRG from where this system was badly copied from without really comprehending why that system works there
