Just had another Auric game where a console vet with fireteam aura died before the second medicae station and left, nobody replaced till the end of the mission. Glad the bot has scavenger aura!
“Hurr-durr, wai people leave games?”
Because most of the people i talk about(And most of which seem to be on this thread, trying to bash leavers) are playing like these teammates:
Not my clip but a great example of people from which players leave
Homie, you won’t find someone more sympathetic to the absolute frustration of not getting unnetted like this.
But if you leave after this happens, you’re still the problem and a blight on the game.
This is an issue in a plethora of games, and in my opinion the best way to alleviate it is to have good ways to repopulate the games.
There will always be people who don’t feel like staying.
Laggy game - leave.
Irl stuff - leave.
People rushing when you can’t - leave.
People being extremely slow - leave.
Penance to not die - leave.
Spawn in and be insta-killed, 1 player with 1 hp and 2 bots (everyone else has likely died and left) - leave.
Map that you’ve played 4 times in a row because quickplay isn’t quite what you would have liked and now you’re fed up - leave.
Player that is an absolute **** - leave.
What ever the reason for people leaving, punishing people to make them do something they don’t want to doesn’t work all that well.
If I was working at FS or another studio i.e. Respawn (apex legends) I’d look into what make players leave and see what you could do.
Lower the time before a new player could join? Set a flexible 5:th player slot for if someone joins and then a disconnected player returns? Work on the bots to bridge the gap? Let players invite others? Incentivise players to stay somehow, stacking bonuses on the next games? Quicker “go again” options for staying with the team and replaying the mission.
Statistics: are there any missions that are over represented? Any specific areas? A class? A difficulty? Using what gear? Which skills?
Baseline is that there will likely always be reasons for people leaving.
Will be abused AF
People play at different paces, sucks when lobbies fall apart.
How do you know how people here play?
Proof? Got wikipedia link or something?
nah, but maybe a wikifeet link
Does it ever get tiring, having literally the worst takes of all time? People are bashing leavers, because obviously there’s a backfill issue with Quickplay at the moment & you can thank Fatshark for that as well. Meaning when you leave, it takes awhile before somebody else joins. When somebody abandons your team, the last time somebody joined a game I was in it took around the 10-15min mark, that’s obviously a long time. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two & two together as to why people are shtting on them. They can absolutely fk over your games. Geez, I wonder why people hate them? Hmm, it’s a magical mystery ride, I guess. If they backfilled fast enough, I wouldn’t give less of a sht if they decided to leave. As others mentioned, that doesn’t mean a penalty system cannot exist simultaneously. Again, if the game backfilled pretty fast… I wouldn’t even care about a penalty system, tbh. It’s unfortunate there’s shtty players out there, but that’s a part of the game & life. Suck it up buttercup. Leaves to me are vastly more annoying than anything else, at least in my eyes at this point in time.
Sorry, if itruth is something you consider “worst”
Getting caught in the net is your own fault, not your teammates’. Blaming them as “uncooperative” and quitting the game is the very definition of a cowardly, bad player.
Honestly, if you’re the type to quit over something this minor, just uninstall the game and never come back. I have no desire to ever play with people like that again.
I know people struggling to read, but you failed even to look at the video… Bruh, bro. Just bruh.
I’m not a native speaker, so sorry if my meaning doesn’t come across clearly.
Me neither.
Look at the video and at the recording guy’s teammates.
Of course, I’ve watched the video. What I mean is that just because no teammates came to help, it doesn’t justify labeling them as bad players or terrible teammates and then quitting the game. Walking out like that is nothing but cowardly behavior, and at the end of the day, it’s just an excuse to leave.
the ultimate insult of course is when the bot replacements are more of a help than the leavers.
weird how you ignored my response to then comment this. Hmm…
Just to play devil’s advocate here b/c Svyat020 is getting a bit dog piled on- there is some measure of responsibility when you play this game to get your team mates out of nets. It is a skill that needs to be developed as much as when to block or dodge an attack.
If players like in that video do not have that basic skill they are a bit out of their depth above Heresy.
Having said all that, here is my post from the OTHER leavers thread:
ok, but what do we see in 19 seconds?
part 1)
first dude with tank controls playing turret mode gets netted.
no strafing no movement apart from the last, failed attempt at roughly 60% of his health.
part 2)
4 seconds in people are near him yet “occupied”
that leaves 15 seconds for a “reaction”
part 3)
we see one guy commit to get the flamer down cause rezzing in a flame pit is costing both health not only the downed one.
another making a detour ending behind the flame curtain as well.
third dude i couldn’t say, but clandestium has a habit getting you into stuff on the other half circle corridor as well so there’s that.
so 15 seconds for him to get down, so what?
plenty time to get him back on his feet with one wound, big deal since the 10%difference then isn’t something this fella could capitalize in anyways.
part 4)
??
video ends before he was maybe picked up maybe not.
what’s with the obsession to risk your own ressources to prevent an “inconvenience” from a dude suffering his own misplay?
cause he then has one less wound?
and the other obvious possibility of the rest of the team being on the same (ill equipped) level making it even more a “how dare you” moment considering equal deficits in every team member ![]()
