Iām alergic to both dogs (very) and cats (a bit) but it didnāt stop me from having two - Cats of course.

Yeah they all have less but not 0. I just donāt see myself cleaning it enough. According to the doctor if I were to live with one (except hairless) I could develop asthma. And Asthma aināt worth it (much to the dismay of my partner).
Were looking at something like this plus allergy reducing food and a cat that has less allergens but still a lot of work and a lot of cleaning.
Or you knowā¦ just get one of these (litter trained like cats but can be walked like dogs):

Huh. I donāt really know what the upkeep is for Cats. Iāve never had one, only had dogs growing up, such as: a Pitbull, A Labrador/German Shepard Mix, also a Boxer too. By the way be careful with Pitbulls and Boxers. If theyāre not trained properly or have appropriate venues to expel their energy then they can get destructive. Those types of dogs need to be stimulated.
Anyways, cats, right, I always thought cats kind of clean themselves. So itās my first time hearing that you need to clean emā.
Depends on breed, but usually - yeah. And itās more like āafter themā not them per se. For example British cat I used to haveā¦ If she wasnāt combed at least once a week, after a month you could brush-out a brand new (if a bit dusty) cat or two out of her. I swear, there was some sort of Warp portal under her fur dedicated to Sixth Chaos Godā¦ Fur for the Fur throne, Let the Fur flow and all that.
After she went to a better place, it took 6 months of regular washing, ductaping, dusting and cleaning for my clothes to stop resembling fur coats.

Yeah I can feel that pain. Luckily the dogs I used to have had short coats. So it wasnāt too much trouble. Hereās an example of what itās like to clean a boxer:
