I can tell you from experience it’s because devs - as generally analytically oriented people - are rarely emotionally empathetic enough to understand how important it is. They rarely understand the importance of reputation and the oportunities to monetize it. People are generally okay to pay money for and will jump in defence of stuff they like. It’s actually pretty simple
That spits in the face of the existing community.
BRUH how can you always, without missing, have the worst take whatever the situation? People were EXPECTING the stuff they were promised and more content, and what do we get? NO CONTENT for the next “FEW MONTHS” and they will be “focusing on the feedback”
Well thank you very much, but if you can’t see this as an insulting nothing burger just admit it that you’re a Fatshark employee already.
Only 4 launch classes and no new maps for months to appease people who can’t figure out how to try different builds (it’s easy actually) kills the game for me.
I agree with what you are saying 100%, but this is not the core philosophy of the games.
Us the community likes to think so, but FS explicitly said VT was meant to be played 80-100 hrs. That’s what they were designing for, and that was (unfortunately) the core philosophy of vermintide from the developers perspective.
I was way over 1k hrs when I quit VT2, but I was hoping that FS had learned what OUR core philosophy was from the past two games. Apparently not.
And? So what? What would that ruin exactly? Because right now this idiotic system makes that if I want to complete my weeklies I need to check the damn holodeck just like the damn shop. If I’m missing grimoirs and the only grimoir missions are T1 and T5 then oh well I better have all the time in the world to check it later yeah? Enough with the inane non arguments shielding this horrible system.
I get needing to take time to rework core systems, but I like playing dress up with my 40k dolls so the no new content for months thing is rough.
I agree - the Left 4 Dead mindset doesn’t work with Darktide or VT2. Don’t get me wrong that’s a fun game but people do like crafting, progression (even if it’s just cosmetic), and “working” towards something new.
The artists are working on xbox? The level designers are working on xbox? Come on. This is an overly simple explanation. They have a huge backlog of premium cosmetics and somebody’s over there making more. And that’s their job. But “Crafting” and “Xbox” are two unacceptably short non-answers.
If anything it´s bad for poeple actually enjoying the game, because FS tries to cater poeple crying all day long, y know?!
You just don´t get it… so many poeple complained that they want communication. Just today i already said, if they say something without a big patch in the backhand, it´ll just last in the next complaints if not another shitstorm.
And what happens? Mimimi… get some fresh air and let them do their job.
Thanks for this, @FatsharkCatfish. The situation is still disapointing, but it’s good to see you guys will be trying to fix the game that we all want to love.
Quick question: are we still expecting a community update this week, or is this letter in stead of it?
I’m pretty sure a lot of people would like to hear what you have in mind regarding the crafting system and progression loop, even if it’s just a vague idea, and some description of what’s coming next (as in, what are the first changes that we can expect to see, ideally with some timescale attached).
@Darth_Angeal damn what is ur issue with everyone, you literally are only here to flame anyone that complains
THAT took 2 weeks to write and approve?!
Why is this happening two months after launch? Do you honestly expect players to stick around while the dev team figures out how to dev? Embarrassing.
Exactly. We do need improvements but a big problem with Darktide is it can get repetitive, we need new content as well. Its hard because they want to make sure one part is done. But new content is as vital as the fixes. Its barebones at the moment.
It was originally much longer, so they had to work two weeks to shorten it down. They know the rejects can’t go through several pages of stuff like cosmetics and apologies!
tbh it was probably because the Xbox Series X|S launch delay will have needed a discussion and mutual agreement with Microsoft due to the game being a timed “Xbox Console Exclusive” available day 1 on Game Pass. There will have been a contract in place with an expected release window.
Edit to add: Also it looks like retailers are already selling pre-orders for the Xbox Series X|S and they’re only selected retailers as well, so it might have also needed discussion and agreement from those retail partners too.
I’m a casual PC Gamer, but I love the IP as much as you do.
Looking forwards to it .
Cheers

Definitely. The crafting and progression have been complained about for too long. I dont even remember when you made your crafting thread but i hope they gave it a look.
Good to have some official confirmation that getting the game in working order is taking precedence over additional content/console releases, if nothing else. Please keep us as actively informed as you’re capable of on what’s being worked on going forward: The silent waiting, however necessary it may have been on your end, has not been a great experience.
