Yes negative reviews are also point out the game at a core is fun that is right.
Look at a lot of other posts. You see what people bothers the most.
For the MTX shop as an example most of people are ok with this, but not the includet mobile paractices that are includet.
Or this whole “make people as often a day log in and engaging as possible” and this whole meaningles RNG everywhere.
People are not happy with the game period.
I have done the math since release and the reviews on steam are misleading because they are also have the beta revies in there.
47% positive 53% negative as it is today (30.11 - 08.12) instead of 66% positiv.
Left a negative review but was fair about what i said and said i would change it to positive if they deserve it right now they dont so let us see what the future brings i guess.
I am seeing alot of Posts on things that Bother People.
But Frankly the thing with the Cosmetics Shop seems rather much like a Strawman to me.
I found alot of Topics and Posts of People Complaining about actually Relevant stuff. Like the Crafting System being Delayed. Or there being less Weapons than Promised. Or there being Balance Issues etc etc.
And these are Generally Fairly Honest Comments on things that bother People.
On the Comsetics Shop. 99% of the People Posting Complaints there. Are People that Refunded the Game or are basicly Screaming at everyone that they would not Buy Cosmetics anyways.
So their Opinion on the Cosmetics Shop seems to be Borne more of a Wish to find something to complain about rather than any real Issue they have.
And something very commonly happening there is People claiming “Oh no. I dont really care about them having a Comsetics Shop. BUT that Comsetics Shop is Bad for whatever reason”
And basicly that Reason will be whatever the Cosmetics Shop does regardless of what it is because ultimately these People dont want a Comsetics Shop and a Comsetics Shop they would Accept would basicly be Gutted to the Point of being entirely useless and could just as well not be there.
Uhm. I am Working. So I dont really care to Log in as Often as Possible.
I log in to have Fun.
If People have no Self Control and feel the Need to Log in 20 times a Day to Check if the Shop has New Pixels then uhm. Not to be Offensive.
But the Problem is not the Game. Its them.
I mean lets be Honest here.
They somehow need the Shop to be Refreshed.
And there is basicly only 3 Options here.
Refresh the Shop based on Time. Which is what they do.
Refresh the Shop based on the Player Playing. For example once per Mission.
Which would certainly Draw alot of Complaints as well.
Or make the Player Pay for Refreshing the Shop with a Cooldown Timer or Increasing Price etc.
Which again would basicly have the same Issue and draw even more Complaints really.
I Already Explained this before.
But you Basicly just went ahead and Ignored my Review because it was made before Release.
But Question.
Why Should I Update my Review which is Still Perfectly Representing my Opinion of the Game ?
Do You Update all of your Reviews of Games every few Weeks or every new Version because otherwise You dont feel it should be taken into Account anymore ??
How about we only Take Reviews from the Last 24 Hours `?
Then we are Suddenly around 60% Positive again.
But I am pretty sure the People which made a Negative Review before the last Hotfix and have not Changed their Mind would not Find that very Fair if we just Ignore their Review due to it being from the Previous Version.
After all. Why should they be Forced to Update their Review on Every Hotfix just to make Clear that their Opinion has not Changed ???
edit:
Added a missing word that changed the meaning of a sentence and would not have made sense in that context
First of all:
Everybody deserves his own POV at things, you and everybody else does. This is great because talking about points can help to make things better.
Seems like you cant or want to see how much all is tied together. And makes the game worse at so many points.
Same here, i talk about basic common tactics out of the mobile market. If you have fun standing around and wasting your time with waiting, i an glad for you, you can find fun in such a thing.
Making a review of a game that is not final (during the in beta) is hard because you dont know how it would be like at release. I think a review after release is more meaningfull (that is why numbers are more negativ since release).
This is why i look at the numbers after release.
And as this is getting in a personal discusion and more of topic i invite you to DM me to discuss furture.
Or simply open a new post how happy you are with the game and all they have done around the core-gameplay.
Update to the Original Post: it’s now at 65%. I thought 66% was the lowest it’d drop then stagnate around that score as reviews start drying up; but it looks like it’s going to keep dropping.
Not gonna lie, modifying the weapon attachment’s would be an unnecessarily useless feature for the current Loot / future crafting system, and it would make thing a lot more complex, which possibly could lead to more bugs/balance issues.
So this is just a nice to have, in my opinion.
His answer isn’t the best for multiple reasons, but still overall I agree with him.
Since this is Relevant to the Topic of how Fatshark Handles this its actually Belonging here.
And dont get me Wrong.
But opening such a Topic that would basicly just be a Challenge to Trolls would serve little Purpose beyond Provoking People.
So I dont think thats a worthwhile thing to do.
I Judge Games by me having Fun or Not Generally.
Thats what Games are for after all.
So to me Valid Critics is when People complain about things that they think make the Game less Fun.
Thats just my Opinion tough.
You are not Required to Abide by my Values or Judgement.
Just pls dont Expect others to Abide by yours either.
Except I dont and I am not.
This is something You Project on me.
I just Play the Game and have Fun.
Why Should I stand around somewhere wasting my Time waiting ???
The Intervalls between Shop Refreshes are Big enough that I can do 2-3 Missions before I Check the Shop again.
Me Checking every few Missions is Completely enough.
Why should I wait for something ???
Would you Rather the Shop just has a Set Stock of Items that never Refreshes ?
Or maybe You would like the Shop to only Refresh after the Player did a Mission ?
Again Mate.
If You claim that System is Bad. Then Offer a Better one.
But of course if you do. In all likelihood the Majority would Hate that System too.
Making a System everyone likes is pretty Difficult You know.
And any System not just giving you everything right away can be claimed to be wasting someones Time.
They could also make the Shop only Refresh once per Day or Week.
But seriously. I hate the Limited Acquisitions Shop that Refreshes only Once per Day much more. lol
Sorry. But as I said. That would mean that you Claim I dont like the Game anymore just because I dont Update my Review.
Thats not just exceedingly Ignorant its outright False.
Its also Hypocritical. Because again. If we only take the Reviews of the last 24 Hours we are back to Positive.
What are you on about? We’ve had multiple threads of people praising the game, most of us are mature enough not to get involved in topics that we’re not interested in. By all means, cease from this thread and go create your own topic where you praise Fatshark and shower them with complements. I assure you, all of us, in this thread, will be the better for it.
I mean, it’s currently over-rated, literally, by the fact that Steam includes reviews posted before the actual release date. Which I guess we could argue is a bit dodgy. If you only take reviews from launch date and onward, the real score is somewhere around 50%.
Ridiculous. Adding a scope to a weapon isn’t complex and it certainly shouldn’t effect balance. Many of the guns feel like garbage to use because of their iron sights which normally I’m a fan of, adding a scope or changing a reticle isn’t rocket surgery.
The charitable read for this is that he is referring to buying directly through steam and not through Aquillas. From what I understand this can be kind of a pain in the arse because you have to effectively price for and track appropriate price for every region as its not automatic and may even depend on cultural norms. Many people have complained about Darktide’s chosen regional prices for example.
They said in the PC gamer article that part of the motivation for going for an in game currency was that millions of little bits of DLC with real money is a pain.
or alternatively they may want to bypass steam entirely like some non-steam games, which I’m not sure how would be done but would definitely be a massive pain in the arse. but who knows.
You’re thinking too simplistic, it’s not as simple as changing one asset with another. Trying to enable this would probably mean they would need the chance of a lot of underlying systems if they aren’t design with this intention, like how weapons are generated, how they work/programmed, how they handle assets, how a crafting system for this would need to look like. “rocket surgery” this is typical for people to say, who don’t know how things work.
Hey @scythid go make a lightbulb, it’s not rocket surgery… (bad example but u get the point)
I understand that it would require some effort to integrate into the current systems, the game would be better off for it. Weapon modding has been fairly requested and it seems an odd choice for Fatshark to act snide and think that it wouldn’t be missed.
The anti-mob charitable read for this is that hedge thought he was referring to the pretty extensive weapon modification style of Call of Duty.
I’ve never considered being able to change your gun barrel or trigger or stock even remotely likely in Darktide, that’s a very very uncommon form of weapon modification in games.
But Hedge may have scanned through quickly and thought he was asking for that level of modification.
What I did think possible, was the ability to change the sights on the guns because A. the guns seem to have picatinny rails on them which isn’t the norm for 40k afaik, so they definitely made a conscious decision to add them. and B. Because the lasgun icons in the achievements lack their sights.
I don’t think sights changing rises to the level of COD customisation so Hedge may have been excluding that in his reply.
I don’t think its good to assume the maximum negative take is the correct one, especially when Hedge is not allowed to talk about the specifics of coming features.
Yeah, maybe down the line at least some sort of scope customization could come, but I wouldn’t count on it, my guess would be they will just add different scopes as weapon variations, like the same weapons with different names with MKII and stuff.
What an embarrassing post to make. Get a grip on yourself and go somewhere else if people are discussing things you do not like instead of pretending you have some kind of moral high ground to tell everyone else they’re wrong.
Nice job capitalizing words seemingly at random too. What a mess of a post to read.
Darktide doesn’t have enough content. Period. Even when you compare it to at-launch Vermintide 2.
This game needed another year of development to add more classes and fix the insane amount of crashes and bugs.
Only good thing is FatShark have shown their games improve a lot down the road. The bad this is the game will end up like VT2 with a couple of thousand players and slowly dying because people will have long since moved on before this game is good.
After about 140 hrs (incl. both betas) I have the Veteran, Ogryn and Zealot at 30 and have been playing them a lot at 30. Trying to convince myself to keep levelling my Psyker (9 currently), but the playstyle just doesn’t fit me. And that’s it. Game over. The Emperor’s Gift system sucks and is inconsistent. The gear Vendor sucks because all we can do is wait and hope we get what we want. Melk’s shop sucks for the same reasons and the weekly challenges are just about grinding. We got one fourth of a “crafting” system and even that is useless without the right weapons.
