One week from launch, no statement? (edit: We had an update/statement but it's uuuh...)

People dump on the cash shop, but the main issue is “cash shop prioritized over things like missing game content(crafting) etc.”. Give me the full game and sell shiny shite to whales and chumps for all I care. But give me the game FIRST, because IDGAF about the cash shop.

Never forget, that most of the good things came from modders - things FS just straight out ripped and pasted into their game like THEY did it.

So according to that PCGamer article they forgot to add the one Aquilla option that allows you to buy the exact amount of coins you want. Yeah thats sounds way too convenient to me. They just happened to forget the one thing that would have made people’s perception of the cash shop totally different (from what I have read)?

I am super disappointed they have not updated us on the crafting system since that ‘sneak peak’ post in Announcements.
How much longer do we have to wait for crafting? Its absolutely ridiculous its not in the game right now as its THE ENDGAME which most players have reached

Yeah, only reason it’s not getting to me yet is I’m leveling 5 levels each character, so I have 3 on 20 and one on 25 for now.

Another absolute BANGER. This really is how it is done.

Come on, the fact they were willing to implement a community balance patch with it being tested and tweaked over a beta period was one of the more based things they’ve done. Let’s not hate on them for being receptive to community feedback. Also they said up front and very clearly that the changes were from the mod, so now you’re just lying to hate on FS more. How about we stick to the legitimate issues of DT rather than twisting past events to demonise them? There’s enough stuff that warrants critique without going that route anyway.

Anyway I’ll be curious to see what they say in the community update post they’ve said is coming this week. Hopefully they lay out a game plan we can get behind.

He’s very condescending. Thanks for posting this though, kind of shows the attitude we’re up against.

Imagine being so narrow minded and RNG brained that you cannot comprehend how you could incorporate these player sought features into your game without turning it into “COD”. I really do think he just bait posts. They really need to get rid of him as a CM, he’s an absolute disaster.

Yeah I’m not sure I like the disdain that @Fatshark_Hedge is displaying from that post. It doesn’t paint him in a good way. All we want is the ability to play with the weapons we want without a loot system that deprives us of our enjoyment.

Well. I already Learned how Dishonest You are in the other Topic.
So I am not Surprised that after telling People that anything Fatshark Says about Future Directions and Content would be useless Lies anyways and thus You dont need them to Say anything.
You at the same Time of Course Complain that they Dont Say anything and try to Incite Hatred over it…

Of course You then also Pretend the Typical Rubbish about the Game Dying.
Because Clearly 66% of the Reviews being Positive is Horrible and means Everyone Hates the Game lol.

Needless to Say. You also Parrot that Rubbish about Half the Playerbase being Lost.
Pretending that the 100k Peak was basicly the Playerbase. Even tough that only happened on Launch Day after a Long Serverdown to Install the Release Version and Carry over Player Profiles from the Beta.
Thus Creating a Timegated Peak from People wanting to Check in.

We had Slightly Dropping Numbers after Launch over the Workweek.
Then we had another High during the Weekend.
And now back into the Workweek we have Slightly Dropping Numbers again.
Back on the Weekend we will have another High.

To begin with. A “Peak” is not the Playernumbers.
It just means that this was the most Players logged in at the same time at some Point.
If Fatshark Wanted they could take the Servers Down for a few Hours in the Evening for Server Maintenance and Add a Timer there. And then Bring them back Online when the Timer Runs out thus Creating another Peak that would likely be around 100k.
But none of this is Relevant for the actual Player Numbers.

I can’t even understand how the Lucius was intended to be usable without a sight option down the line. Does this mean they can at least fix the obstructed aim points on autoguns then?

That post is definitely not a good snapshot. I try and remind myself that in the end he is just a human like me and everyone has bad moments. If you screenshotted some of the things Ive posted without any context I am sure you’d all think Im a total Ahole (if you dont already lol).

Well I expect a higher standard for those representing the makers of my beloved Vermintide games.

It’s more that Hedge is their only communication right now and thus is representing Fatshark as a whole. If there was more formal communication( roadmap, blogposts, updates, Q&A, etc) Hedges statements and tone wouldn’t matter as much.

The game needed another year in development and a ton more beta testing. Sounds like bad leadership to me higher ups not listening/caring about players and what their dev colleagues are saying and only want to appease their new Chinese overlords.

So many things missing and bad decisions in this game it’s like they’ve recruited new managers that weren’t there for Vermintide 2. It’s so disappointing and confusing that I can only conclude someone is making very poor management decisions in dev stage.

I firmly place blame for this fiasco at the executives of Fatshark. Tech support will be crying out for help to the Dev team who are dead on their feet trying to fix the game whilst their cries for help fall on the deaf and incompetent ears of management. Plenty of people at Fatshark care and want to make an amazing game but unfortunately the people at the top don’t. The reason we haven’t had a message is because there’s no one there to give it, they’ll be enjoying their juicy Chinese cash bonus somewhere warm and sunny from Scandinavia.

Just my 2 cents but I think its a better idea for them to just keep their heads down and work on fixing the stuff.

Yea in an ideal world they would put out a response to address the issues and say they are working on it, But the sad fact that gamers are fickle and prone to anger/threats of violence. (Tons of examples all over the internet, quit trying to fight it and accept that the few bad apples have poisoned the well for the rest of us. If you want to change that then your gonna have to start one game community at a time.)

Devs are probably more than aware of what they put out, and sadly saying nothing until you have something to show is historically the better option for most companies.

I have read a lot of the positive reviews on steam also.
But if you take a closer look you´ll notice that they mostly still point out that the game is no in a launch and far from finished. And they do not like the MTX shop the way it is.

This all is just “this is they way it is this days”.
No wonder if most companys release games unfinished and “fix it later” if people buy the game not matter what. Only numbers count this days …

Likewise if you read many of the Negative Reviews they Point out that the Game is very Fun and that they are only Recommending against it right now due to it not being Finished Yet.
Thus instead Recommending to wait a bit for Fatshark to Fix the Worst issues.

And dont get me wrong.
But we dont talk about People considering this Game Perfect.
We are Talking about People considering this Game Satisfactory.

So People Pointing out that the Game still has Problems but still Recommending it as its Fun and Worth Buying.
Still means they are Satisfied with their Purchase and Recommend others to Purchase.

The Reason for that is actually a bit Different.
You See. People in that Field said Years ago already. That Providing a Game up to Modern Standards with the Budget you get from just the 30-60 Dollar Pricetag. Is next to Impossible.
But Increasing the Price is next to Impossible as well. Because if you try to Sell for 100 Dollars barely anyone will Buy it.

So Game Companies looked for ways to Increase the Money Turnout.
And well. One Method that has Worked out Greatly is to not Develop a Fully Fledged Game.
But rather Produce a Fun Game that is a Minimum Viable Product. And then depending on the Game being Succesful or not. Either Allocating further Funds from Sales Profits to Expand the Game or to Acquire Additional Funds from Ingame Monetization. (Or in many cases both)

So basicly. This works a bit like a Tryout for the Developer Side.
They will effectively create a Base Game that is Fun and Playable but not very Extensive.
And if that Game Attracts enough Customers they will then Start Adding and Expanding that Game.

Another Morally Questionable Move of Course.
But from a Business Viewpoint a Perfectly Viable Choice.

I don’t know what’s worse… Fatsharks performance and lack of communication or delusional fanboys like Sunleader?
