Hello. I would like to discuss mechanics. I can admit that a dog can knock down an ogryn (Which is very reasonable - given the colossal difference in weight). But the fact that a dog can hold an ogryn is not logical. Ogryn only needs to squeeze the dog’s head into his fist to turn it into bloody mince. And the ogrin lies like a virgin on her wedding night and does nothing. Will this mechanic change somehow for ogryns? You give the ogryn the opportunity to knock over the crusher. But not being able to throw the dog off. How is that??? Where is the logic, friends?
Lots of words to say skill issues. And the Ogryn have a Keystone that let them shrug off the dog after a while already
It’s a game.
The game mechanics should work similar to all players (and classes) so that the game is fair.
As I play more for immersion then for challenge I am with OP. Seeing the big guys pinned by the dogs looks weird. Same when they are thrown around by muties.
Nope - differences in classes make games like this interesting. I mainly play veteran yet I wouldn’t find it unfair if ogryns had a native ability to get rid of dogs, not dependant on the last skill in The skill tree. They still would be disabled by trappers.
of course, if you play in heresy mode. But, if you play on curse or higher, this skill is useless when there is a horde of shotgunners, a pack of dogs and trap masters. So don’t be smart
But 4 prison dwellers genociding thousands of enemies including seasoned guard veterans and chaos spawns/nurgle beasts not realy immersive anyway.
I find the atmosphere of DT outstanding - but yes their’ll always be gamey mechanics that break immersion. Yet I’m for reducing them where it’s feasible.
My personal all time favourite 40k game would put me into the shoes of a Death Korps platoon leader preparing and executing trench raids into different enemy field fortification against different enemies of Imperium. But this will never come to live - so right now Darktide is the best I have ^^
Krieg cosmetic Helbore Vet with a squad leader build?
We’re already storming fortifications in Darktide so you’re kinda there already.
Get three friends and force them to buy the Krieg set and you can roleplay your platoon leader!
I was thinking “giving them money to buy Krieg cosmetics” but your approach is obviously way more 40k ^^
And I’m Helboring a lot of heretics - and since a few days bayonetting them as well
That is why I said DT is the next best thing. Gameplaywise this imaginary game in my head is more along the lines of Ready or not/Rainbow six raven shield/Red Orchestra 2/Gates of Hell…
“differences in classes make games like this interesting.”
Yes, hence the word “similar”.
But if you make one class too powerful then you negate the relevance of the other classes.
Having one class ignoring one special enemy is too powerful, its not the same thing as veteran preforming better in range or the zealot preforming better in melee, or psyker not needing resources.
Its gonna make the majority of people just play Ogryns because they are the better choice objectivly.
Its a game with space lasers, not a mil sim.
