Ogryn; dodge range

I have noticed that ogryn is really unable to dodge for example when bounced on by a hound. This should be fixed asap, makes it really painful to play as him. Getting disabled all the time. Really makes the game loop annoying. Less disablers would be appreciated. He should not be netted by the trapper, as he is so huge.

Secondly, when he dodges he should be able to push enemies away as he is so big. This will make him I think much more mobile in contrast to what he is now. And would make up for that size at least a bit.

Honestly my problem is with trapperā€¦ when they launch the net behind a wall, or a crusher and that I am busy killing heretic and that I cannot, at all, see them.
Ogryn is fine. You get also this on other classes when you pick slow weapons. You have same dodge.
You can get pretty good dodge with a cleaver. So Ogryn are not better or worse than others.
Also Ogryn has the best staminaā€¦ this means that he can push more often than others without even needing to invest in stamina.

Ogryn is fine, his dodge is already huge, dodging hounds is easy

Ogryn has the highest base dodge, hampered by negative dodge distance on all his melees, and more importantly, THE LACK OF GRACE PERIOD.

Humans have a lingering dodge that extends the window by 0.5s, ogryn has not, making him more suspectible to disablers.

It is the price you have to pay for being a huge unstoppable force of nature.

Been easier to push hounds for me, I donā€™t try to dodge them anymore. I donā€™t like when dogs pounce without going into the setup for itā€¦ going from stagger state immediately to pounce is jarring and irritating in equal measure. Feels unfair.

Dancing between Crusher and mauler overheads sucks though, especially when thereā€™s a trapper in the mix I canā€™t see because shooting through solid mass is their MO. Iā€™m impressed the audio issues that were persistent for so long seem far less obnoxious now, I can hear bursters pretty clearly and almost always know when a trapperā€™s around at least.

Donā€™t try to dodge dogs, especially on Biggie. Push them you can push them 2x farther than you think you can, as if a force user.

Part of the issue may be the changed stagger thresholds ~5 months ago, this screws over oggies the most. Ogryn relies a lot on bullying, so if they canā€™t bully itā€™s gonna suck, and this is with Slam.

I think youā€™re mistaken, and that it isnā€™t broken.

Why do you think a 10ft Ogryn weighing over a ton should be able to ā€œdodgeā€ a fast hound in the first place? Any nod towards dodging is definitely a gameplay easing.

Whether they should be able to wrestle free is another point, however.

I (and others) have said this ages ago, have some innate 60-90s get out of net/dog jail free card.

Ogryn literally cant dodge trappers on Gamepass servers. Dogs are maybe a 50/50. Its completely unplayable. I say this as someone with over 2000 hours played in this game.

You can push dogs; thereā€™s no means to deal with trappers other than killing them as Ogryn, which is often impossible in mixed hordes on Maelstrom.

wait, isnt it known gamepass servers have delay? isnā€™t it a problem with gamepass then?

idk i play on pc, its perfect, ogryns can dodge just as any other class canā€¦ maybe complain on the gamepass forums? (or maybe donā€™t play games super leaning on reflexes with a platform known for server delays)

Errrā€¦ afaik there are only AWS servers, and we all play on them.
There are no ā€˜gamepassā€™ servers.

I think it could be a connection problem on client side, VPN, server locationā€¦
But not GP related.

Its actually shared with Psyker. Ogryn and Psyker have 0.2s dodge linger states to Veteran and Zealotā€™s 0.25s. This is why Anticipation (+0.1s dodge linger time and 1 effective dodge at all times) is one of the best talents in the game.

Nope his stamina efficiency is really awful. I am talking about thr dodge distance, he is a big target therefore he should be able to cover just a bit more. To be able to pounce from the range.

Well sure if that option is available; I would gladly take it. I mean if its an option. That would be epic.

Agreed especially with the slam multitude of times have had that happen.

Are you doing the dodge slides? Dodging left, right, backwards, followed immediately by a quick crouch to enhance your dodge distance? ( It does use up a second effective dodge count). As some mentioned weapons change this, as well as the mobile stat on your weapon.

Ogryin can doge perfectly, you just need to get used to it since he is less mobile than human character. Also donā€™t bother dodging dogs, just push them and kill them.

You can dodge trappers fine, the biggest danger is making sure you have enough free space to do so. I do it all the time, but it takes consistent practice and awareness! When I get trapped itā€™s generally my fault.

For dogs, definitely just push as itā€™s wayy more reliable and makes it easier to follow up and kill them besides. Since they changed the netcode or smth ages ago itā€™s been really, really easy to do so ā€“ the range is absurd (and I love it pls never change).

Given that Ogryns get enormous stamina pools and generous dodge counts on their weapons ā€“ 4 on Branx compared to 3 on TH :drooling_face: ā€“ I donā€™t think they need even more dodge distance/i-frames. Iā€™d rather set them apart from da humies in other ways like damage reduction and big stat pools!
