Off-Topic Fridays: What's Your Favorite Season and Why?

Hello and Happy Friday! This week’s question courtesy of @CopperBack1 is:

What’s your favourite season and why?

I used to really love winter, but I appreciate the sun a lot more now. I’m not going to say summer is the best because it’s pretty sticky in England and aircon is a rarity. Spring is nicer imo, seeing everything come back to life, and the days growing longer

Summer here in the Southeast US is hot and sticky and miserable. Bugs like gnats everywhere and the sun is never not in your eyes. Earlier this year we had a new record set for longest hot day streak, damn the global warming.

I’m more of a winter fan. I’m a night person and it lets me bundle up in clothes to feel safer without making me sweat like a hog. Would that we got more snow as well, there was maybe one day of a whole blanket of snowfall this year and it so magical, so quiet. Also damn the global warming.

I was in TN last Halloween and couldn’t believe how hot and humid it was even at that time of year! The peak summer months must be extreme!

Was in the hundreds several days in a row in my area, aye. It took until late September this year to finally start getting cool weather over here.

As a general Season: Fall

They all have their pros but fall tends to be the perfect temperature, coming off of heat to cold is better than springs cold to warm IMO and if you have the right kind of trees…

Honorable mentions to Rainy / Snowy days when your not working with a warm cup o coffee.

I don’t have a favorite to be honest.
There’s always something to do regardless of what calendar says.

  1. Too hot.
  2. Too wet.
  3. Too cold.
  4. Too moderate.

Bonus Friday joke for ya:

  • Got any plans for Autumn?
  • I’ll be drinking.
  • It’s the same plan you’ve had for Summer…
  • What am I supposed to talk about with a man who doesn’t understand difference between cheery Summer drinking and depressing Autumn boozing?!

Autumn. It’s pretty outside, there’s typically some good rain, it’s neither too cold nor too hot. Juuust right.

Spring and Winter.

Summer is too hot, and Autumn is great, but not as much as winter or Spring.

Winter, snow brings me joy.

Im a Summer child. I like the warm embrace of the suns rays on my face and a cool beer or cider to go with it. Bliss!

Autumn. I always found it fascinating to have so many changes to observe in nature in that time of year, and I don’t mind the often frequent occurrence of rain where I live.

As a chef summer is basically a hate crime. Anyone who enjoys being boiling hot and sweating ‘because its summer ‘needs putting on some kind of watch list. Autumn is best. cold enough for a nice bowl of soup and some crusty bread, not so cold I get in a mood defrosting the car. The only irritation in Autumn is that pumpkin spice isn’t a thing, they’re called Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger and Cloves and they don’t go in/on every edible thing in sight. Grow up.

I used to enjoy Winter more too…when it actually used to Snow here. Now it is just ‘dead’ Trees.

I still enjoy cold Weather more because it is more comfortable to walk around fully clothed and theres no damn Mosquitos around.

But Winter and Christmas really lost their charm when it doesn’t really Snow anymore. February 2022 it snowed for around two Weeks at least. But else it is just like maybe one Week of Snow at best in total.
