OE nerfs when?

It is 0% bonus distance 1 dodge limit. Those are usually used for swap oneshot swap weapons like handgun.
Weapons like BoP or Grifonfoot for example have 25% bonus and 100 dodges

With shield or raker bash It becomes AOE super stagger like FK ult.

I use this for my only ranged build with ultimate CD on elite kill

It’s weird how good they all are, but none of them make Drakefire Pistols any good. lol

I run APS with Flamethrower on Twitch+ Modded too, so you can always be hitting something, even in ridiculous density. Also makes sniping Packmasters in Horde a thing.

But it’s often plenty enough to keep you safe when ripping away at the enemy, monsters are a little trickier but still dodgeable.

Oh that’s interesting. I’ll have to give it a try. Funny I’ve used Grudgeraker and OE multiple times, but I guess RNG dictated I never once had both piston and grudgeraker at the same time when I land it with OE.

Which is something you’ll be doing with any other skeleton talents before you replenish your stocks with a new kill. Only difference is you can probably spam more spells by sacrificing your permanent skeletons as well, but that’s not why I’m playing a goddamn necromancer. If I wanted that I’d play BW instead.

No melee necro is stupidly effective. But yea, it is more meme build.

I like Piston with grudgeraker mainly becouse you have more control on it. It will not proc and go on CD when you hit single SV with heavy atack.

And very unpopular opinion.
Base minigun should not deal armor damage. Or atleast Linked chamber should loose its armor damage as downside.
It is so stupidly good against warpfire, stormvermins and ratlings that most of the time it’s not worth it shoot them with MWP or handgun. Only at pretty high distances, but at that distances they dont do anything anyway. If you dont build for Gromril ratling\warpfire oneshot breakpoint you will kill them at the same speed.
And Gromril shots are pointless, becouse it is only better against a lot of armored targets, and Torpedo is 10 times better in that situation. Or you can just use your bombs.

I played cata+ horde deed with APS and Drakefire pistols. Pretty damn good.

In Cata3 Deathwish tourney mod he was NERFED. Becouse he was too OP.
Bomb pooping was removed and trollhamer doesnt proc conservative shooter.
So he just trivialized the game even on hardest modded difficulty

Trollhammer Torpedo

  • Conservative Shooter trait cannot be triggered on trollhammer.
  • Grenadier trait cannot be triggered on trollhammer.
  • Reload Duration increased from 3s to 4s.
  • AoE damage against Armor and Super Armor decreased by 50% (from 1 to 0.5; impact damage unchanged).
  • Outer explosion radius damage against Infantry, Armor, and Super Armor decreased (stronger damage falloff from center).
  • Strength Coefficient of both the projectile and explosion decreased by 50% (from 1 to 0.5).

This is trollhammer nerf from Tourney balance. Pretty good i think. Right now trollhammer is pretty much a bomb.

BTW overall Tourney patch is frkn amazing. And it can go live no problem

hmm, i think for the general playerbase those changes altogether are somewhat heavy handed.

These alone would most likely be plenty good enough, conservative also not working would probably be a good card to keep in reserve if these 3 don’t hit the spot.

I like reload time too.

I watch onslaught a lot. And i have never seen IB with anything exept trollhammer even with all this nerfs. Becosue it is pretty much another ultimate.
ā€œStrength Coefficientā€ what is it BTW? Stagger?

Far as i can tell from google, its a part of the formula that determines the weapons final damage output.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/comments/800dth/verminscience_the_power_damage_equations/

As for all the IBĀ“s using it in onslaught…they are doing it despite it being so heavily re-balanced? ThatĀ“s a bit surprising honestly.

It doesnt even oneshot CW on C3
It shows how insanly OP trollhammer is right now. It is absurdly strong ultimate on 3 sec CD.
Even on C3DWONS it is ultimate.

I don’t think you understand nerf is very traditional, for example L4D melee.

Also traditional is people crying when their crutches got rightfully nerfed.

Yea, i remember how much cries it was after nerfs of obviously OP javelin and SoTT. And after huge nerfs Javelin is still top tier.

Top tier feels like an overstatement, its functional sure, hard not to be with free on demand reloads for special sniping, but, top tier? To me that kinda suggets its on par with the likes of hagbane waystalker or just a skillfully used longbow at large really.

I see it on cata and cata+ more offten then longbow. Becosue it has the same breakpoints as longbow, but requires no ammo an has good melee atack. With some headshots reload is not a problem actually.
BOP needs more time to reaload, has worse breakpoints, worse accuracy and dropoff, eats ammo like a mad, but it is still awesome weapon.
Hagbane is pretty much WS exclusive weapon, i never see other classes with it.
I cant say that weapon is good when it is only usable on single class with single build.
With same logic you can say that volley crossbow is top tier becouse Zealot with some build can spam it and melt everything.

I dont know and it was a bad decision he was strong before the buffs/rework. He dealt tons of damage, it wa only the clunkiness. There was never a need for straight up buffing him.

This change alone was enough to fix him

Before that if you reach 100% ult or shoot even once - you loose all 5 stacks, and you need to charge all 5 again
They buffed his entire 20 line too.

For example old 20-2 ā€œBardin no longer loses stacks of pressure while firing or when the bar is filledā€ So on release that was a talent. Now it is base.

Old 20-3: It was only 10% atack speed. You got 4 stacks instead of 5, and if you fire once you loose all of them. Now you loose only one. And you keep them at full ultimate.

So basically you need 10 times less reloading then on release.
And they buffed his HP
And they buffed his minigun

But OE defenders keep acting like bomb was only buff and ā€œif you nerf it he will be worse then on releaseā€
It sounds (and is) insulting but i think anyone who has problems with current OE without bomb talents and trollhammer is just a noob or liar.

See this is not quite right.

Longbow kills everything, everything on cata that is not a mauler or a chaos warrior with a headshot with no investments or buffs. If you add in some…its either 20% or 30% power vs then you can also 1shot assasssins on a bodyshot. Javelins meanwhile, need 40% power vs armor to onetap stormvermin on a headshot. Which does also help with ratlings and gunners but also does makes it necessary to use EP to hit the 30% breakpoint needed to kill goat-banners…

So a skillfully used longbow? Much less investments and better damage. And this only gets more pronounced if you start going ā€œupā€ since javs no longer can hit the breakpoints even with such heavy investments…but its also less mentally taxing to just randomly chunk a spear out with little aim so people use javs for comfort.

A fair view, but i could reverse this and say that all classes using a weapon because they got no other ā€œcomfortable/goodā€ options is no proof of said weapon being absolutely good. Only that they lack options.

A situation iĀ“d argue is the actual case since thereĀ“s only 5 ranged elf weapons in total that are ā€œfree useā€. And out of those, waystalker has monopoly on two, being swift and hagbane. This due to ammo, damage and usage constraints.

That leaves longbow, moonbow and javs. 3 different choices. Which all basically fill the same niche. Slower, single target shooting.

  • Longbow needs people to focus and aim properly so it loses the comfort run.
  • Moonbow goes into forced lockdown after 4 shots and needs about as much investments as javs. Plus the light can get quite glaring when aiming.
  • Javs needs investments but got on-demand reload and the melee mode. Also, very stylish.

To me its no wonder javs get used a bit more even if they in fact are not really good. And i have not seen a single waystalker use either of the above 3 in ages now. Its all hagbanes in recent memory plus like two odd swiftbows.

Yes, weapon with limited ammo that only good at sniping is better at sniping then weapon with unlimited ammo and good secondary melee atack. It is called a balance. Otherwise long bow has no point to exist in the game like it was before javelin nerf.

And dont forget about insane stagger value of Javelin bodyshots. Staggering CW and throwing Maulers and zerkers on butts is really helpful.
I very rarely almost never see players who can snipe elites with longbow in the middle of the fight. I saw exactly one guy who did this.
Elite breakpoints almost always are about killing ambient elites to farm green circles. Special breakpoints worth far more.

Moonfire is actually good too. You oneshot every special with charged+light combo, has no ammo, no damage or bullet drop, autoreload, good boss damage, its a pinpoint laser. Really good at tense mods like cata+ horde+elite deed when you dont have time to reload or aim

I saw jav WS. With some power vs and double arrow talent you can oneshot bodyshot almost everything in the game. Hagbane is the best green circles farm machine, of course they use it more offten.

Just imagine Javeline on other heroes. I am pretty sure it will be one of the top choises on anyone just becouse of infinite ammo.

More options then most non ranged classes.
Victor has BOP and crossbow
Kruber has Repeator and Handgun
IB has torpedo and Handgun

Yes, you can take other weapons like you can take Hagbane on SoTT.

When you go ā€œupā€ - thats where you take Javelin. (and Staff for soTT) Becouse ammo sustain of longbow becomes problematic even as HM with +40% ammo. And unlimited ammo of Javelin starts to shine.
And more stress = worse aim = worse ammo sustain.
Shade kinda can deal with it with blood arrow, but you need to spend talent on it.
