Now the power sword is nerf, i ask for :

It is your point of view, and with a nicely crafted sword, i can do the same for a shity blue flamethrower that i see annihilate waves n specials in every games T5.

I knew this would happen. I fething knew it.

You people are never going to be happy. "Nerf this, nerf that, these people are having too much fun, I need you to break their kneecaps for me, Fatshark, because I feel inadequate."
Stop advocating for so many nerfs in a co-op game. If you think one class’s options aren’t measuring up to another class’s options, then you should advocate for one class to be elevated to the level of another, not whinge and whine until the developer nerfs your teammates so you can feel like a big star.
This will continue until the end of time. First it was the Power Sword, now it’s the Flamethrower.
You’re going to direct your attention to the bolter next, I can guarantee that, and after that? Who knows?! The recon lasgun? The revolver? Oh, no, sorry, it’ll definitely be a class-specific one, and it’ll be a class you don’t play - the Grenadier Gauntlet, maybe? Plasma Gun?

Sorry for the rant, I’m just so fed up with this community already.

All people are looking for is a balanced experience without people hopping into difficulties they have absolutely reason to be in at their own skill level but only think that because they just blasted their way through the first few difficulties with a weapon that allows them to delete any and all targets that gets too close to them while also able to pull out a weapon which allows them to delete any and all targets that isn’t within punching distance.

As I already know I will be called out for ‘gatekeeping’, I am doing anything but. I am very much of the opinion that people shouldn’t try to toss themselves to the deep end out of pure pride, which is the case with too many people. People have this unbearable necessity to be able to do the hardest possible content, even if the said content is far, far above their own skill range, and even more want to avoid having to see the effort to reach a point where they can do this. This includes skipping having to learn basic mechanics of the game and mastering those mechanics if the options for a shortcut is available to them. This includes using tools that are clearly overpowered because without it, they are magically not “as skilled as before” as for some reason that weapon was just so vital to their ability to do that content, instead of outright admitting that maybe the content is too hard for them to actually do without the use of a cheap method to remove the said challenge barrier.

To quickly just summarise the whole thing. You have your preferred method of playing, as does everyone else. Mine is to have a balance experience with preferably all tools being roughly equally viable, with their own ups and downs, so it creates an interesting and varied set of options for the players to pick from, thus increasing the variety we see in the game. What I don’t enjoy is instant takes that are just outright superior to all the other weapons when you go through all the aspects of the weapon.

Just note that this topic was made out of spite, a result of the OP’s mandatory weapon choice being given a slap on the wrist, dropping it from godlike to merely demigodhood. He refuses adamantly to acknowledge the advantages of the weapon while lacking actual arguments that would justify the overwhelming advantages of the said weapon, instead resorting to the simple statement of “You don’t need to use it if you don’t like it”

So the next step now that it has gotten a slap on the wrist would be, in his mind, to completely kneejerk the weapon that has a distinct designed flaw in it that justifies its current power in the hands of a class that is meant to be up close and personal with the enemy. His reasoning obviously is completely sensible. People clearly only wanted to see the Power Sword brought down a notch because they hate fun, and as a result, no one should now have fun because his fun has been muddle a bit.

In other words, don’t take what he is saying seriously.

Other weapons in the game need a good looking at, and most of them need to be buffed, but the ‘problem’ weapons all have a flaw in them that is either glaringly obvious, or rather subtle that it requires proper experimenting with the weapon to figure out. To give a few you listed here, the Recon Lasgun without the Infernus trait is worthless against armoured targets, requiring you to potentially mag dump into a Mauler alone to down it. The Boltgun has a massive recoil, making it highly ineffective against the most dangerous target in the game, the shooters and gunners, as you can’t acquire targets fast enough to get through them all before you are either suppressed, or you run out of ammo in your mag and need to reload.

Odds are that FS literally looked at the data in their own end and saw that 99% of the Veterans use the Power Sword, realising that it really, really needed a look at. The Flamer on the other hand is I would wager around 50% ish use among the Zealot players since it depends heavily on your own build you are going for, and how much you trust the randoms to help you against the ranged threats, or you are doing pre-mades. I am mainly stating that based on my own observations. I see maybe every 5th Zealot I come across use the Flamer. I see every 100th Veteran not use the Power Sword if they have the level to have a shot at getting it from the store.

But thanks this absolutly confirm what i say :

Ho goooood what a lier you are, and you want to argument after that ? Seriouslyyyy maaan it’s not a trash talk US show wake up and read everything i already wrote befor being desobligent like that, omg omg omg :scream:

And then the autogun with you can kill ogryms in less than 1sec in maximum difficulty
And then the tactical axe maximum lmb burst in pure brainless gamplay
And then …

It’s absolutly what this post POINT.

Specials suck, like beyond the mutant and the dog they usually just walk up and join the stagger circus the elites fall to. Flamethrower has no answer for ranged trash, which is the actual threat scenarios of the game. The flamethrower will be sitting there holding their pudd for the majority of the round (and the actual challenge) so yeah go nuts killing the elites and whatever else mixed in that runs up to waste less time in a run slapping them around. That isn’t exactly making up for not killing scabs but it is something back.

Meanwhile power sword hit everything on screen for combat axe heavy damage, without losing 1 point of damage to an infinite number of enemies cleaved. Even Eviscerator cannot kill more than 1 groaner/pox walker with 1 swing without blessings. And it was not on Zealot, for some reason. This is where you should expect to find extremely powerful and versatile melee weapons first.

This is not how the game i designed and you have the most powerfull weapon of the game, the flamer, that only a shielded ogryn can counter.

Power hammer is amazing too, and having played a lot zealot too 2H chainsword is powerfull. Tryed it tonight with a pretty tactical axe and it’s over powered. So what, you want to play with a power sword ? Play as sharp shooter and in same time you can solve the ranged trash problem with your autogun.

if its nerfed i hope its not damage or armor pen as its, you know, a flame thrower. an overheat mechanic would work well, but I think a ‘pressure’ system would be better. where you can only shoot so much before the pump has to kick in and you have to wait.

i never much cared for the flamer as I’m more of a revolver guy, but I really don’t want to see the overheat mechanic from bardins drakegun where it kills you

Flamethrower is countered by itself, 25m does not include the 20-30 shooters in any given room. Play High Intensity once. I would expect it to run cleanup on the unfortunate souls in the fire, because we don’t have another shooter on the line pinning down and cleaning up scabs.

Trying to pub with FT is seriously relying on random teammates to save you from what is otherwise the most substantial threat in the game.

Also the thunderhammer is god awful, I have not seen any VT2 vet commend this weapon for anything. It is basically dysfunctional with its reliance on empowered attacks to do anything and the broken targeting with the heavy. It also has a giant ‘just kill me already’ hit lag lockout when you hit something so you’re guaranteed to take hits all game. It is not good, and there is no wiggle in the conversation here. It is trash at horde clear and miserable at picking elites.

And if tactical axe is ‘overpowered’ just what is power sword exactly? lol your scale is all out of whack, and completely incongruent with any reputable player’s opinion. Tactical axe is completely outclassed by the combat axe version besides crit psynergy on Zealot…not exactly selling me on your game knowledge here. Axes are useless without Brutal Momentum, which if we are actually on a balance tangent is another thing that is just plain goofy.

I wouldn’t necessarily agree that"strongest aka most damage" but if you want to compare DPS the “toothpick” vastly outperforms the thunder hammer in like 90% of situations.

That’s clearly Malice at most
And that axe build, while being very good, is still not nearly has strong as the now nerfed powersword, and yet you ask it to be netfed?

Nerf it to the ground.
It’s trash already, I don’t care if it gets nerfed since I won’t be using it.

Anyone who is decent at melee can clear trash mobs with melee in obviously close range, with most weapons. And that’s about the only thing flamethrower does well (for everything else there is boltgun and even braced autogun; no you don’t get good dps on flamethrower against crushers even when abusing ult armorpen).
On top of that, it uses ammo, has equip time basically only matched by boltgun, interferes with visual clarity, and denies allies of toughness regen/ult refresh at times.
So flamethrower is only OP for bad players who suck at melee. (it’s okay to suck at melee; just stay in malice or have 3 friends carry you - or fail together or whatever, it ain’t my problem)

So I ask for another round of nerf to crutch sword alongside flamethrower nerf. Crutchsword isn’t really that good but what it does is that it makes people who are bad at melee think they can get away with still being bad at melee on damnation. (which normally isn’t even that hard, but with the way certain objectives are changed at damnation - it makes doing certain objectives a chore if not impossible with 3 bad-at-melee teammates)

The people who roleplay with flamer don’t care about winning or losing anyway. Nerf it to the ground and they’ll still use it. Win-win for everyone.

FT biggest issue is that you can’t just pull it out and open up.
If you are close range and have a shot gun you see a special and you swap then shoot them and they fall onto the floor
If you got a braced auto gun you just swap and open up and they die.
Flame thrower you swap and by the time your ready to shoot you have been downed by mass gunfire.

You got to literally be behind cover to swap to it in a active gun fight unlike a fast swap weapon.
And if your in melee you can’t reload the thing till everything else is dead.

Then you also got no range pick off potential or chase down with it.

You also can’t easily deal with pox bursters hounds or mutants since it’s gonna take way to long to kill them and your slow when shooting So dodging then while shooting doesn’t work.

But still it’s kinda op against armoured specials that are mixed into big hordes.

Probably just lower the amount of stacks it can apply to maulers, maniacs, armoured maniacs, reapers and bulwarks so it can still do its job of destroying trash mobs but not take down every dangerous special in the area.

Why even post if you’re just going to throw around condescending borderline incoherent flame bait? If you don’t like the changes that’s whatever, but what purpose does acting like this serve?

You clearly don’t like the changes to power sword, but what sort of responses are you even looking for here?

Yes, let’s nerf a horde clear weapon because it drum roll clears hordes amazingly well.

This is what happens when people are never taught to think big and see things from a top down view. They view all things isolated from an individual, singular perspective and miss the grand scheme.

Except for Powersword’s infinite cleave there is literally no weapon or gun that performs well in all scenarios. The grand idea of this game’s loadout system is to combine your melee slot and ranged slot combined with talents and curios on such a manner, that you end up wielding a well-rounded kit. But no item does it on it’s own.

The flamer is the ranged weapon with the shortest range in the entire game. Beyond 10 meter you cannot hit anything. As such it’s already a niche pick, because even single-target melee weapons such as the axe can be decently used for Horde clear in skilled hands. You essentially trade your only option to deal with Scab Bombers, Snipers and other ranged chaff in - For some improved Horde Clear with mini-stun on specials. That’s about it. That’s not to mention that getting the flamer out makes you a sitting duck. It’s slow to swap to, slow to reload and slow to initiate firing because you first have to brace it. It is already in it’s current version for better or worse a total niche pick with very limited utility.

Imagine wanting such a situational thing nerfed further. You people are beyond help.

TBH I’m just shocked there’s still this much anger about the slap on the wrist power sword got. Like does anyone think it actually isn’t still good? Serious question.

Haven’t personally used flamer much because I don’t want to rely on PUGs to deal with gunners and snipers, and having a ranged weapon I can pull out IMMEDIATELY to deal with a threat out of melee range feels extremely impactful to me (shotgun and MK VIII braced autogun my beloved). Maybe it’s overtuned, dunno, will need to run it on high diff with a coordinated team to really know. Happy to talk about things that need to be tuned down but the spirit of this thread is uhhhh, not helpful.

It’s pretty simple you just test the weapons and force your self to deal with the down sides in heresy then judge it.

I said all the negatives and if they do nerf it they got to make sure it can still do the job of quick mass horde clear even if it doesn’t kill any specials it need to kill the trash or the downsides are far to bad.

I tried powersword and it’s problem is it’s stuck on sharp shooter who has no CC feats and bad mobility and it’s a tooth pick when it’s uncharged.

Actually, people are afraid to complain about it, When I post a video of myself killing a DemonHost solo with Zealot Blood build, proving that zealots are OP.
Zealot mains weirdos start attacking me and mass false flagging to abusing the automated system to hide my post.
It’s like they don’t want the public to know how OP zealots are. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are using sock puppet accounts to abuse it.

https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/zealot-are-too-powerful-that-it-can-solo-kills-demonhost-easily/70124/31

Do you just find random clips on youtube to support this weird narrative you got going on?

You posted that clip of someone named Imaginebrata using an axe on zealot, claim its op, claim its damnation, which i doubt it is.
Nothing about that clip says its damnation, not the actual game play, not the title of the video, and nothing in the description of the video either, so am i to assume that this is your game play since you know what difficulty this is played on?

Then you post a second clip from another youtuber in response to being asked about the difficulty played in the first clip, which is a clip that focuses more on the strength of the brutal momentum blessing than anything else.

And then you got this third clip from a third youtube channel, which is apparently you, which contains a player soloing a daemonhost. So whats the deal here?

Post a screenshot of your character selection screen please.

It clears everything that isn’t a crusher (yes you can even dodge around bulwarks or flame them when they swing at you). It melts away stacks of reapers with the whole gunner team while also suppressing them. Apart from a few maps that are super open, it’s the best weapon pick for zealots, not for clearing hordes, but to clear elites and gun teams, usually whole rooms of them. Heck even on open maps it’s a top pick for high intensity.

It might not deal with a sniper or bomber, but there are 3 more peeps in your party to do that. Even in the situations where I had to ult and melee the sniper myself, I didn’t think about maybe not taking flamer next time. I was mad at the sharpshooter/psyker/grenade ogryn for not paying attention, and in those situations, flamer is far superior at carrying those lost children that wandered into damnation for some reason.

There is an infinite cleave blessing for some weapons on a headshot, you don’t even have to charge it up. Powersword also has one of the if not the worst mobility compered to other weapons in the SS’s arsenal. It’s also on the veteran that has 0 synergy with melee. Mind you it’s still totally fine after the nerf, especially if you have the blessing that gives infinite cleave on headshot.
