You know what else clears everything that isn’t a crusher? Braced autogun, it will do better damage when abusing ult and keep mutant from getting to you. And it doesn’t screw with visibility.
Best of all, braced autogun is far quicker to equip (the hardest-hitting mark also staggers bulwark when they unblock to melee, mauler gets sent to the ground and dies at around 1400dps, more with two relevant perks but I prefer maniac/flak damage).
Top pick for you? Not good enough.
What part of “suppress a whole room including 3 reapers at once and also melt everything in less than a clip” you don’t understand? Can you melt that 6 zerks at once when they running at you mixed in with the trash and the crushers? Braced autoguns are good on zealot, but damn flamer can deal with some true insanity. I’d even say it’s better against crusher than autogun since it clears all the trash around and behind them, so you can deal with them without a sudden zerk jumping out from its belly.
If you have one zealot with flamer already than yeah bring auto gun, otherwise having a flamer in the group is always better than not having one.
What part of braced autogun does it do you not understand? Actually shoot reapers for once(braced autogun doesn’t need to be in flamer range; and you probably just get pushed out of flamer range by reapers anyway).
“clip” - neither uses clip.
Flamers don’t become good just because you rely on it due to not being able to deal with multiple ragers.
For one, braced autogun(the highest damaging one, with decent rolls) can eliminate ~2-3(on damnation btw, even with potato aim) of those reliably starting from outside flamer range. Then there is option to reload while dodge/sliding backwards or just use eviscerator - ult - eviscerator.
When you have braced autogun you can shoot/kill crusher from outside flamer range.
Having more real guns is always going to be better than having even one clown pretending to be SOB. Because you’re part of the cause of those “true insanity”(like massive elite blob within close range) due to not having range.
You must be bad with flamer if you write something like this.
Seesh, even you writing something like this smells of bad faith.
There are a lot of closed situations, even on open maps. Otherwise, they are usually the majority. Thankfully flamer melts all the dangerous elites swarming out from the side rooms, or from behind the big enemies that you can’t see. Worst case scenario you have to dodge backward once.
Keep reading, rest of that part isn’t hard to understand.
You’re bad by default when you rely on flamer. The reality is if reaper wasn’t shooting at you, you could have used melee on them, and if they were shooting at you - your dodges suck.
Bad faith is just you pretending flamer is good while ignoring literally everything bad about it.
It’s hilarious you only mention dodging backward once because even you knew the dodge is one of the worst.
Finally, while you’re still struggling at coming up with a retort, there is the fact that zealot already has on-demand close range crowd control in the form of stumm grenade(pretty sure it has longer range than flamer too). Between melee and grenade there is very little room for flamer; and whatever you want to pretend it’s effective at - you can do it with other guns without sacrificing range.
I’m pretty sure even boltgun has better dodges(4 effective with 50% or above mobility); the best of flamer mobility(2 dodges, -27.5% dodge distance) is near the worst of boltgun mobility(3 effective, -30% dodge distance).
You should try the flamer, you would be impressed. I rather flame the 3 reapers that are shooting me than to run and melee one of them while getting shot to pieces by everything else. 2 dodge is pleanty of time for the suppression to kick in.
You can also use it to close in on sticky situations making flamers down-side lesser. You def don’t need to use it in close range when you have a flamer.
Damn, really? You are going pretty low. Chill out.
PS: At least try to read back what you wrote before posting it. Your post constantly getting added to is jarring. It might even help a bit with the attitude.
You should try literally any viable gun, you would be more impressed.
You can block other two reaper’s shots using the reaper you were attacking. (you’re not playing as another ogryn)
2 dodges and terrible dodge distance…
If I use stumm grenade I’m definitely not going to need flamethower since I can just melee everything. No matter how terrible you are, you at least can hit enemies that are stunned, right?
I’m reaching as low as your level, you should thank me for attempting to reach out to you.
P.S. - I don’t need to add anything, I’m just teaching you how to be less of a burden to teammates on higher difficulties here.
Where is it incoherent ? Each game i play in t5 with flamthrower in my team they annihilae waves and specials/elites.
On more time :
Nerf flamthrower cause :
You deal damges in vast area,
Pass through armors,
Burn, stun,
Big mag,
Lot of ammo,
NO overheat !
And i forgot, you can straf
It’s really OP weapon, dont tell me hooo you cant annihilate full ranged trash lol, you want a nuke weapon ? We couldnt annihilat ranged trash with PS too and it has been nerfed
While mobility is important, at some point you reach the threshold, where raw dps outvalues mobility. Infinite cleave on PS easily did that, because huge damage across a wide arc - as it turns out - is also really great cc and can thereby compensate for mobility.
That’s because you can carry a ranged weapon in addition to crutchsword.
Flamer should be nerfed but it has nothing to do with the reasons you listed. (it’s bad crutch, similar to power sword except it costs ammo and replaced ranged weapon; it needs to be nerfed to the ground so people stop trying to use it)
The sheer idiocy people can reach never ceases to amaze me. Scares me too thinking that some of these idiots are allowed to vote.
The flamer is great against hordes. As. It. Was. Designed. Not an oversight like infinite cleave, its literally working exactly as designed. It locks down the horde and takes care of the small fry. Meanwhile the other players are free to pick off the nasty stuff without having to worry about Random Mob1066 slipping through and taking out the guy with the lowest health.
Want a good example of a flamers weakpints?
Get a private game going on Malice or higher and try to clear a room with a horde plus a few shooters on the fringes by yourself. You wonr make it. Those shooters will tear you apart while you’re trying to burn down the horde.
Personally I LIKE seeing zealots with flamers. Watching one hack a path to our 3 downed guys, burn through a horde that he left smoldering, stun lock the hostiles keeping guard over all three of us, then breaking us out tends to leave an impression. A good one.
Ho my god ho my god ho my god, the flamer is not OP cause i cant kill all ranges in a room, you couldnt with the PS too my friends, could you be serious ?
And dont ask me to play in malice i only do T5
Sorry, but you’re still dressing up basic Horde chaff clear as something great. Any of my melee weapons can do what you just described.
Stacks of Reapers isn’t exactly impressive to begin with. You can kill these guys with 3-5 critical strikes from a Dagger with lacerate and watch them bleed out. You can land a few criticals with your axe and kill them. You can unload your Bolter mag and kill them (and do that from +30m to boot).
You don’t need to suppress them, attacking them with melee staggers them. Of all the things in this game currently, the bumbling, slow, easy to target Reaper is what I fear the least.
And no: The Flamer is not even close to the best weapon. From an overarching view it’s also absolutely terrible for your full kit. It’s a flashy melee weapon with ammo that tricks you into thinking it’s a decent ranged pick. It is not. It’s a noobtrap.
You’re wielding two different melee weapons. You may not think it, but whatever loadout you are running right now is extremely sub-optimal because you have no ranged tool.
Not being able to clutch at all ranges while everyone else is down will not save you.
“But my team” → Your team is unreliable because it is a bunch of randoms. We all experienced it, if we post here we are probably the crowd of players to carry the rest.
When push comes to shove, you will have Horde + Specials + Sniper / Bomber on your butt. You can dodge the Bomber easily, it will even help you kill the chaff. But you cannot deal with the sniper if he is too far away. If you had any ranged gun, even the silly headhunter autogun, you could quick swap to it, kill the sniper, go back to your melee weapon and clear the melee trash.
Instead with your Flamer out you will be too slow to dodge the sniper, eat lead, get stunned right into the creep wave and they will end your clutch attempt.
That is why the Flamer is bad. It’s a secondary melee weapon for a class that already has strong melee capability on any weapon. What you need is a ranged option to round up your kit. What you need is anything giving you ranged killing power. Say a Bolter or a Lasgun.
Infinite cleaves on headshot (well it’s not really infinite, just very high) is a reward for skill. You land the headshot, you get the buff. Good game design rewards skilled plays and punishes bad plays.
And the Powersword is alright. I personally never even saw the need to nerf it because as you rightly pointed it out, it was but a mere fallback option for a sluggish character to get “out of jail” when surrounded by trash.
I fully agree. Flamer is not a good option.
To add another option here when dealing with many enemies: The Zealot Rush. When you execute it, all the small fry falls over and all the big guys get staggered. It’s free of charge, has no ammunition requirement and with a certain talent and crit probability, the Zealot’s “ultimate” can be refreshed in as low as 6 seconds.
if people were honest with their posts for one day in their lives, we would have a perfect game as everyone is focused on the real issues and try to make things fun and Bug/crash free.
But no, they demand nerfs for other classes instead, and when it’s time to review their own main class they would protect their main class and false flag.
It’s like their life demands on how powerful their main class is, and feel a sense of accomplishment when they manage to shut down anything that is threat to their Main class OP’ness.
