No mods que

What? Than what is your issue with the Scoreboard mod if other people use it?

If someone was upset about mods giving an advantage, the two most problematic ones I can think of are Healthbars and Perspectives (3rd Person). I’m fairly ambivalent towards both.

Healthbars shows you who to prioritize, can alert you elites / specials mixed into horde, and can give you visibility to enemies behind line of sight blockers like fire. Perspectivea gives you more info in melee and lets you see targets in/over horde clumps bc of raised camera.

I used to use Healthbars before but have since disabled it. I think it’s useful for beginners but can let you fill the kill feed with cherry picks once you’re competent. Perspectives is undeniably cool as it lets you finally see your character in action but was the mod that made me feel “That… Kinda feels like cheating.” I often struggle to gauge distance of enemies behind me with their teleport happy ways and Perspectives gets to not have that problem. That realization made me actually turn off Healthbars too.

I don’t think either are game breaking and I don’t mind when I’m queued with them but have decided I don’t like using them myself. The want for an even playing field is understandable but only if you’re competing. Ultimately, we’re not competing because Darktide is a co-op game. And if people come at you unprovoked about scoreboard numbers or performance, they’re just being assholes.

it has a very big impact on how they play , there builds you just know when your grouped with people whose gameplay is shaped by that tool , i fully support people having the choice and being able to play the way they want. id just like to not be involved with it is all.

I love the irony lol

The biggest irony is, what the mod actually does.

The scoreboard has zero impact on how I play, my squad members, the situation and how awake and up for it I am certainly does… I play support roles mainly so I’m never going to snaffle much in the way of orange numbers, but I do like to see the lay of land when the mission is over to see if it agree’s on how I saw my team-mates performance, and my own.

None of it is commented on in chat or on voice… Its just for my noseyness and hope the useless people see their scores and wonder why and learn.

Please do elaborate. Are you worried about meta-builds?

I guess knife zealots with loner rubs him the wrong way.

I suspect they’re talking about the old ‘circle chaser’ problem from V2.

glad to hear it. unfortunately i dont think ive even seen you in a group yet.

im not saying it makes people evil or that everyone is bad for doing it. all im saying is it negatives affects my time in game enough that id like the option to avoid it. not trying to take it away from anyone or alter it , i just want an opt out is all.

not really , its moment to moment gameplay the priorities performance of people using the scoreboard.
its a really big subject we’ve gone over many times in the last year. it measures performance not capacity and scores you against the team both are contrary to good teamplay.

and people only manage what is measured. look what happened to policing and teaching when scoreboards were introduced there its been a disaster. same thing happens here, people play to the scorecard, not the game

You do realize that if two skilled people were playing with the same strong/meta build and trying their best, and one had the scoreboard mod and one didn’t, that it would be impossible to tell who was running the scoreboard and who wasn’t. Don’t even pretend that you could somehow look at another player and “tell.” That’s a ridiculous assertion.

Theoretically, if you reported the guy who harassed you with the scoreboard mod, he could get banned.

Also i just encountered this guy:

You were right about derailing… You were so right.

Out of curiosity - what difficultly was that on?

Auric damnation

Also to be more on topic: the solution isnt to have separate queues…its to report the people who misuse the mod(s)

Alternatively you can just use this mod: EnlightenedGameEnjoyer at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community

edit: woops, looks like i misunderstood OP; i thought his issue was scoreboard toxicity

The “S” word did its job, as usual

I think we can agree the real issue is toxic individuals. It would be nice to be able to blacklist players, which I know has been suggested before.

Lumping every mod user together is a bit hurtful to the many people who quietly enjoy mods or are able to be more cooperative with them.
