New weapons? Poses?

I know they probably are going to take ages for new weapons for most of the classes if not mainly veteran but what weapons would you guys think they would add?

Honestly I’m hoping they add the power fist, outside of that tho I know they’re basically an extra but I really wish they added more poses with different weapons alongside actually displaying them with the skin you have for them, it’s not a big thing but still something I’d personally like to see. Maybe as events rewards alongside game currency like they did for the current skulls event.

I hope to add machine guns and laser machine guns to the veterans. When the machine guns fire, the movement speed will be significantly reduced, but it can have the effect of suppressing the enemy group

You’re definitely not alone in hoping for new weapons in Darktide, and the Power Fist is a highly requested item! The community has been quite vocal about desired additions.

Based on official statements, community speculation, and leaks, here’s a rundown of what weapons are likely to be added, and some that are highly desired:

Highly Anticipated / Likely Additions:

  • Power Fist (Veteran, maybe Ogryn): This is consistently one of the most requested weapons. It’s lore-appropriate for Veterans and some versions could even fit the Ogryn. It was also seen in early concept art.
  • Meltagun (Veteran and/or Zealot): A short-range, high-damage weapon that would fit both the Veteran’s ranged arsenal and the Zealot’s aggressive, close-quarters playstyle. It’s been mentioned in leaks and community wishlists for a long time.
  • Long-Las / Hotshot Lasgun (Veteran): These are specialized lasguns. The Long-Las would offer a true sniper option for the Veteran, while a Hotshot Lasgun (Hellgun) would be a more powerful, possibly energy-intensive, rapid-fire lasgun.
  • More Psyker Staves/Melee: The Psyker still has a somewhat limited selection of staves compared to other classes’ ranged options. Players are hoping for more diverse force staves (e.g., beam, coruscation) and potentially one-handed force axes or spears, or even a two-handed force sword.
  • Grenade Launcher (Veteran): A multi-shot explosive weapon would be a natural fit for the Veteran’s ranged utility.
  • Heavy Stubber (Veteran): While the Ogryn has several Heavy Stubber variants, a more “portable” version for the Veteran (perhaps less focus on bracing) has been suggested.

Other Requested Weapons (Community Driven):

  • Ogryn Specifics:
    • Power Fist (XXXXL / Plasteel Knuckles): A truly massive power fist for the Ogryn.
    • Brute Shield & Bullgryn Maul: More shield and maul variations, potentially with different special actions.
    • Heavy Rock Saw / Las Cutter: Industrial tools repurposed for combat.
    • Multi-Las / Lascannon / Autocannon: More heavy ranged options for the Ogryn.
    • Flail / 2H Hammer / 2H Axe: More two-handed melee options to expand their brawler role.
    • Harpoon Launcher: A unique ranged weapon for impaling and pulling enemies.
  • Zealot Specifics:
    • 2H Chainaxe / Chain Glaive: Expanding on the already popular chain weapons with larger, more impactful versions.
    • Power Sword & Suppression Shield: A combination weapon for added defense and offense.
    • Power Halberd: A reach weapon with a power field.
    • Exterminator (Hand Flamer) / Inferno Pistol: Smaller, more mobile flamers or a powerful melta-pistol.
  • Veteran Specifics:
    • Plasma Pistol / Bolt Pistol: Classic 40k sidearms that could offer different tactical options.
    • Cavalry Spear / Hunting Lance: Reach melee weapons, perhaps with charging bonuses.
  • Psyker Specifics:
    • Psychic Tome: A unique “weapon” that allows for casting advanced techniques, or even just beating heretics with a book!

Regarding your desire for more poses and displaying skins on weapons:

This is a common request in many games with cosmetic systems. While Fatshark has been working on various overhauls (like the itemization system and talent trees), cosmetic features like unique weapon poses or full cat language translator app weapon skin display in poses are generally lower priority than core gameplay and content. However, your idea of them as event rewards alongside currency is a good one, as it provides an incentive and feels less like a missed opportunity. It’s a small detail, but it adds a lot to player customization and immersion.

The developers have stated that they are committed to adding “new missions, new enemies, new weapons, new conditions, and new features” throughout the year, so there’s always hope for more of what you’re looking for!
