Though we could use a thread discussing the itemisation and crafting overhaul
Personally
Pros:
locks are gone, we will be free to use what ever combination of perks and unlocked blessings we so choose
rng is significantly reduced to reasonable levels, the only rng is now the weapon’s base stats
expertise system, grants us points we can use to increase a weapon’s base stats
blessing unlocking is now straightforward, use a weapon tree get xp towards unlocking blessings for that weapon tree, no more several layered rolling rng hell.
Cons:
we’re losing our already unlocked blessings, unlocked blessings are being converted into weapon’s tree milestone progress meaning we could be losing our already unlocked t4 blessings we spent dozens to hundreds of hours of grinding and rolling for to unlock
Screwing over your veteran players forced to put up with the current awful placeholder system for 2 years is silly.
sire melk shop completely loses all purpose
we can tune weapons into absolute monsters, balance further becomes a magical idea
I think one of the things we need to keep in mind very strongly, as this discussion goes on, is that we also don’t have a full picture yet of what itemization looks like.
We have no idea if Melk is staying the same. They were talking about how crafting is just one part of itemization, the devlog that got dropped says “An Intro to Itemization,” they were really pushing “multiple” devlogs.
We need to make sure we’re not judging just a part of the machine as the whole, here, and discuss it in that context. Yes, the potential exists that this is all we get and nothing else is touched, but considering how they’re communicating, I doubt it.
Not to immediately divert off of your thread here, @Badwin , I just think it’s important enough to highlight before the discussion really moves forward here.
