There is plenty of mods which have questionable influence on the gameplay and player advantage.

I would say even mods which increase of your field of view give you an unfair advantage over the game challenge. I run few games with custom fov, and your awareness of your flanks is far superior than with the default max fov values.

I find the classic healthbar mod useful when testing stuff in Havoc, as the psy-lab is insufficient and doesn’t even allow you to spawn Havoc level dummies. However, using it long term is actually a determent as it heavily increases visual clutter and can obscure your vision in high density situations, especially if you enable hp bars on too many enemy types.

Yea there are other Mods that give more “advantages” than this mod too. For example, like the SpideySense and Weapon FOV, or Perspective mod (gives u 3rd Person view). I think at the end of the day is that, you choose how you play, if you don’t want to use these Mods, then don’t use it

Also, if you play Darktide on an Ultrawide Monitor or 4K monitor, you will have a huge “advantage” over ppl that play on 1080p monitors. With Ultrawide, you can see enemies on the left and right and give u more distance to cover.

Fatshark doesn’t intend to police modding much, outside ouright cheating, I don’t think they would step in. Showing enemies through walls as above additions, just might cross the line.

I agree using these mods is practically cheating

but only if fatshark didn’t threw a blob of 10 scab ragers, 5 maulers and 3 crushers at the same time, then no one would need these mods

But this will never stop/change until Fatshark returns the blacklist/sanction system of mods.

For now, people either use mods or they don’t, that’s it.
This will never change unless Fatshark decides it should.
So just don’t bother even thinking about, literal waste of your time and energy, instead download some extra D.Va rule 34 content and have some fun.

They need to implement some of the QoL Mods into the base Game and then ban Mods.
Its ridicilous how many Cheat Mods there are or that you can just directly use Cheats.
Week ago or so someone did even right on the Forum post his Wallhack and albeit very rare i did run into two people straight up using Aim Assist

Not sure why you’re triggered at me expending so little energy to point out the obvious?
Not saying anything is silent acceptance, FS OFC doesn’t care and will never care in DT, they may care in the next game and again, silence means “all’s cool”.
But the cheaters and their simps get their panties in a bunch when they’re rightfully called out, so clearly they care.

There’s enough apathy in the world, and IRL stuff is trickier, but online? It takes so little effort to call “Gamers” out for their general BS, in this case the abuse of mods so why not call them out on their BS?

They abuse the generous (lazy/non-existent) modding policy to go well beyond QoL or even borderline stuff straight into cheat territory, which makes them big giant lamewads by any standards, when they complain , gaslight and QQ about being called out it’s lamewads cubed.

TLDR the point is not to let them think their BS is anything but, silence is acceptance and normalization.

I want to use some mods. Like qol mods. More of this i want that qol mods be in the base game.

For a long time i use healthbar mod. Its easier task to prioritaze direction of main dmg.

But i uninstalled it because when u play nearly 2500 hours in darktide - u dont need to know how much health target have.

The problem is - we dont have visual difference healthy enemies or wounded. Even when u killin them u can be fooled (that they still live) by animation of death (regular mobs).

Its irritate me much.

But, the game itself provide more than enough information about enemies and directions. So i go for “clearer” gameplay.

Also bugs exists. Silent crishers, trappers, poxhound that jump on u instantly etc…

So the conclusion is: the situation is not that simple due to many reasons. Personally me want “vanilla”.

I think a lot of mods border on traditional cheating and quite a few and well with in the realm of traditional cheating. It makes the game way easier.

But it’s a PvE game and the developer doesn’t seem to care. So until they do it’s fair game I guess.

I personally use score board and cackling trapper and no dodge jump. I have used loads of others in the past but as my friends are console players I want to be on a reasonable
Level playing field.

So far shark if you are listening. Have a stance - either you care or you don’t ( you should) .
