New Condition: Elite Resistance feedback

“We need to do something to keep the PC players busy over the summer, but we don’t want to release actual content right now. What have we got?”

“Well, Jari has been working on a new mission modifier, we could rush that out real quick?”

AWFUL. Even the base concept for the modifier sucks in my opinion. Back to the drawing board. I really, really hope that this boring, badly designed modifier didn’t actually take any development time.

I find it particularly irritating that more badly designed features are being slowly fed into a game that is still far from being in a good place. I’d prefer time be spent where its needed, not on things like this modifier.

I was hoping for this too, what a letdown

I think it would be fine the way it is, if the boost was stronger. But as it stands, it feels like the enemies get a moderate buff, just to have their spawn rate so heavily decreased that it immediately evens the boon out.

At this rate enemies would have to be thrice as strong to pose a threat. The problem: At current, while enemies are stronger in Elite Resistance, they don’t have any more stagger resistance it seems. Or at least feels like.
So you can just stunlock the fewer enemies to death effortlessly.

And that would also suck.
Enemies would be massive bullet sponges and they would punish too hard for making a single mistake.

I would just like to see this with high intensity and judge it from there. No one is interested in regular Damnation Shock Troop Gauntlet either, but at least this mode is a genuine change of pace compared to most conditions.

Not including a high intensity version of it, at least not once I’ve seen yet, is a bit of a mistake I think. It would essentially be adding a 6th difficulty to the game, which has been requested quite a bit. The people most interested in these kinds of modifiers are already so familiar with the game and the mechanics that any non-high intensity modifier is going to be relatively trivial to them.

That all said, I too was hoping for something similar to V2’s Vanguard mode. Maybe in the future?

there are so many qol things and straight up mechanics and ideas that couldve been borrowed. some deed modifiers woulda been dope here. harder better is nice n all but def there are better modifiers. i think people will respond better to higher tempo/pace things. send in the next wave, seek n destroy, twins, etc. all better and more fun for the general i think. could be wrong.

honestly, years of V2 should tell u guys at fatshark that atleast give us something like onslaught. deathwish on its own on a low intensity modifier is pretty doo doo

Yep, I expected a map full of elite enemies. Instead it’s ultra-low intensity, except the enemies have grossly inflated HP and stagger resistance. They should rename the mode to “bullet sponge” mode.

It’s boring and easy. Replace it with Assault!

What I can see is that it’s unbalanced and boring, in addition of lowering the odds for high intensity gauntlet to show up on the mission board. That’s another missed shot from Fatshark. They are literally giving the opposite of what the community is asking

another problem i see IS the hp pools. darktide is a game that u can reach breakpoints on weapons that’s kind of lottery to even obtain. thats whatever, its been months fine… we got some decent weapons now to hit some breakpoints. now u got some higher hp numbers for specials, nvm the elites, which is very annoying. your oneshot is no longer there disablers. your 2 shot body shots aren’t there anymore either. thats jus kinda annoying

not everyone cares about breakpoints i know. thats fine. im jus saying, took a while to reach some of these breakpoints. would be nice to tune difficulty without taking the bullet sponge philosophy

This bug could be affecting how this new modifier RNG rolls and making it easier ig, seems to be making the entire game easier currently…

Hi Int could also help with this elite resistance condition…

But at the end of the day this game is just straight up missing its Tier 6 difficulty.

The difference in difficulty between the easiest T5 stuff and the hardest T5 stuff is ridiculously vast and it’s just infuriating the would be T6 players who have only a portion of T5 that’s any real consistent challenge anymore.

  1. The difficulty bracket of T5 is too big.

  2. Pls hurry with T6 fatshark.

plz elaborate

Man I HATE this new modifier so much it might make me quit playing this game

Question about this modifier, I played it twice on diff three and both time I had loot and and wound as I would in a diff 4 game. I wonder if anyone else have had this thing or am I just seeing thing?

im hoping for the love of god they dont just afk leave it up for weeks like they do with dogs. we need like a temporary emergency fix to keep hi int shocks up until they figure something out w/ the map

@gab.rognon idk when i tried it it was on 5

It’s literally the Aliens Fire Team Elite difficulty treatment: Enemies become bullet sponges and deal more damage, but nothing significant in the long run.

The new modifier is alright. You’re not too comfortable as your weapons aren’t precisely made to meet break-points.
Elites are Very hard to deal with on Damnation.

Its a refreshing change of pace, and if it was closer to normal intensity or a high intensity version, as a bolt gun user, we’d run the f%$k out of ammo very quickly.
