New cheat mod on nexus

Yep, you could see it happening from a mile away.

i do not want you playing the game at that point. if you’re intentionally refusing to interact with the game normally and insisting you need mods to be hugely annoying to everyone else they should take it as an argument to kill the mod off because it’s encoruaging people to play badly.

You need to read more.
I never sound the mod alters any sounds It’s exactly displaying what’s already there, this is not in dispute.
It’s displaying what’s already there PERFECTLY, unobstructed by anything, other mobs, sound engine processing etc., that’s the whole point.

Completely false. NOTHING to do with any sound engine-post processing. You can VERY EASILY see this for yourself in the psykanium.
I honestly can’t tell if you’re lying and arguing in bad faith or just don’t know what you’re talking about now.
Once you tested it in the psykanium, you (well not you) can look at the code yourself. It doesn’t do anything to or with sound , it just hooks into the constant stream of pure, unfiltered 100% Colombian uncut sound event triggers to updates, direction and distance.
E.g. trapper FOOTSTEP “play_netgunner_footsteps” is one of those used
to trigger a radar update with a 0.5s throttling per sound type and other little special consideration which really are there to prevent flood and performance drops etc.
e.g. trapper stuff

What you see on the radar is vastly superior to what you’d naturally hear even with a great, properly configured sound setup, this is objectively demonstrable.

So, just to clarify, are you assuming that I’m blasting music over my mic for everyone to hear? Because that’s not the case. The music is only heard on my end—it doesn’t affect anyone else’s experience. But it’s interesting that you think this makes me ‘unworthy’ to play. I suppose by your standards, only those who play your way—no music, full audio, adhering to your preferences—are fit to enjoy Darktide.

In your world, those of us who enjoy loud music or need accessibility tools like Spidey Sense are somehow ‘playing badly.’ You’re advocating for a universe where only the elite, the ‘perfect’ players, can be part of this game.

Funny though, this is a Warhammer 40k universe, where Noise Marines exist—literal warriors who channel deafening sound as a weapon. Looks like you’re the one who isn’t being faithful to the spirit of 40k.

You often whine about the community being toxic and then say this? lol

And? All you’re saying is that it hooks into sound triggers—big deal. Some people, myself included, with great audio setups and quality headphones, can track specialists’ movements just fine in the vanilla game. I’m not talking about magic; it’s called good hardware and paying attention. If you can’t pick up on those sound cues yourself, maybe it’s not the mod that’s the problem. Maybe it’s your equipment—or your ears.

The mod simply takes what’s already there and makes it more accessible for people who can’t afford top-tier audio gear or who have actual hearing impairments. But it sounds like your issue is that anyone else but the ‘privileged’ who can afford high-end setups shouldn’t have access to the same kind of information. You’d rather keep them in the dark—literally. So, what you’re really upset about is that Spidey Sense lets people who don’t have perfect hearing or the best gear actually keep up.

But hey, I get it—you just want to gatekeep the experience for those with the ‘right’ kind of audio setup, right?

More goalpost shifting?
You were the one making silly claims like:

Now it’s your D*ck Cheney “And” moment? Before it wan I was an ableist, now it’s “and”? Now it’s "privileged " elitism LOL

What!? What happened to your blasting music? Where did I say I had trouble picking up the cues ? Despite my ear issues, you ableist, I can hear the cues.
What else you got, keep '~em comin.

“I can hear mobs just fine” but also “more radar plz”

You’re clearly seething, spiraling further into unhinged madness. It’s almost entertaining to watch.

You conveniently forgot I mentioned earlier that I only discovered Spidey Sense because of the bugged trapper audio while playing without music, and later realized it allowed me to enjoy music while still keeping up with the game. But go ahead, keep up the intellectual dishonesty—it’s the only move left for a debased gatekeeper when they’re backed into a corner.

At this point, you’re not debating. You’re just scrambling to hold onto a narrative that’s slipping out of your grasp. So keep ‘em coming—I’m sure there’s more projection where that came from.

lol yeah…1 of us is.

Ah, brother, don’t give in to Khorne’s rage and bloodlust. Reject the Ruinous Powers while you still can. There’s still time to walk the path of the Emperor—stay cool, reject the madness.

Didn’t really give my opinion about the mod in my post, but sure, I can give it now. It is good for those who need it, but it still gives an advantage to those who don’t need it but still uses it. So I’d say it is cheat-adjacent.

Still feels like a bad move for those without friends or don’t feel like using Discord (the new group tool is nice, but I never really see people use, at least not whenever I check it), but I guess we don’t need to bother with them since we have friends to play with.

Having two different servers still feels like a way to make this problem into a reality faster, but who knows, it might be fine.. you could call it a opt-out from crossplay with consoles at least.

This Spidey Sense hate is really out of touch. I didn’t use it for 800 hours but after all I got tired of the issue of silent specialists which hasn’t been fixed since Patch 14-15. And Fatshark still don’t know how to deal with this issue as they have difficulties reproducing it (so please, record silent specialists and post console logs in the appropriate thread for it). Also some locations just completely mute the game sound for some reason. So currently you either put up with the game cheating against you by sending silent specialists or use Spidey Sense which is obviously inferior to properly working sound cues as it’s harder to precisely locate a specialist location based on visual indicators and you have to pay attention to the indicators which is not easy in some situations. I don’t use Healthbars mod but I can understand why others do as the game just lacks damage model on elite enemies and bosses so it’s impossible to tell a full hp crusher from a damaged one. Also some debuffs on enemies like brittleness/skullcrusher/soften them up have no visual indication so people for whom this information is crucial are forced to use Debuff Indicator mod. And many other mods are used because some aspects of the game are just badly designed like no indications of charges on ammo box, no dodge counter so it’s difficult to tell when your dodges have reset (literally 0 sense why stamina is shown but this thing is not as dodges are the same resource as ammo and stamina), misaligned ironsights on many weapons and also you can’t see the suppression effect on your aim without Crosshair Remap, for example. Combo Tracker would be useful for new players who are still learning the game and weapons’ movesets because I often see people who just use the simplest weapons as they have issues with learning complex combos and just give up on it. I think we really a big QoL update with some mods intergrated into the game especially when Fatshark keep in touch with modders and they are eager to help devs with some issues.

While I do find joy in mastering a weapon through practice, having the ability to toggle a combo tracker widget in the Meat Grinder would be really convenient!

It’s simple. There is a mod that alows me to save more build compositions that doesn’t influence my ability in missions. Then there are other mods which do.

You know what, guys?.. your discussion made me wanting to test spidey sense.

Let’s say it… yes it looks like a serious big help… and yes, it is at the border of the cheat.
Yes it detects enemies and the direction where it is, a long time before you can even see them.

Must say the mod is well done and also pleasant to use. You can remove a lot of options and let only what you really need, like trappers by example. It also detects elite and specials that the game missed to play the sound.

My own tolerance for mods is:

  • that they don’t inject data to the server (cause here you can truly cheat… this is speed hack, damage immunity but also shirtless mod when others can see them)
  • that it doesn’t hurt other players.

So, considering that, for me the mod is fine. But let’s not play with words. Yes the mod can be qualified as cheat.
Now, does it breaks the limits? I don’t think so. It hurts nobody, it doesn’t permit you to do something with your character that you could not without it.

Are you saying it can specifically ping on enemies that aren’t triggering sound cues? If so, I wonder if this could help with the reproduction efforts.

Also, this sums up well the perspective that has managed to ruffle some feathers here imo. Comes close to the OG cheating paradigm in video games — it’s for fun

It likely could help. The Spidey Sense mod works by detecting in-game event triggers—such as enemy movements or actions—even when the audio doesn’t play due to bugs. There’s a known issue in Darktide where sound cues are supposed to activate, but the actual audio sometimes fails to play, likely due to the game’s sound priority logic.

Since the mod visualizes these event triggers, it still picks up on the relevant cues, even if the audio doesn’t follow. This means you could use the mod to help isolate instances where the event has triggered, but the sound isn’t playing, which could be invaluable in troubleshooting audio bugs.

This is hilarious to me but it’s all clear now

The only possible conclusion is that Fatshark QA and playtesters don’t play on Auric, that explains a lot

yes

And sometimes it doesn’t see at all an enemy. I have seen special in front of me not detected.
So, game sounds + spidey sense permits you to be aware of (maybe?) all enemies.

Look at the unique downloads, no way there are so many people with hearing problems.

Even when or should i say if Fatshark will fix audio completely, poeple will still be using mods that provides any additional info. Noone will say “oooh i don’t need it anymore”, people don’t like to throw out the crutches.

This is the way.

I don’t think you are supposed to know. This brings that chaotic randomnes and stress in fights.

In V1 there is no HP bars for bosses (good), and while with time you can learn how long it will take to kill a boss and how much HP there is left approximately, it’s still a completely different feeling when you can’t be 100% sure it’s safe to risk and be aggressive, this where adrenaline is coming from.

When you are right only cause of gut feeling it’s much more rewarding than cause of game UI. You have that enlightenment moment “damn i’m that good”

For sure it would be cool if some enemies with 50% HP will start limping or sound more exhausted, like mutie’s RRROOOOOAAAAAAAHHH will be more heavy breathing.

But not having info about enemies makes some situations to be more adrenaline pumping.
