I’ve been lurking on the forums for a little over a year now, but made an account just to talk about this because of how hard it affects my and probably many others enjoyment of the game. Since the rework of the mission board Fatshark has stated that the High Intensity modifier is now baked into the Auric difficulty so it no longer needs to be displayed on the menu, except it really doesn’t feel like it in all honesty.
I’ve played a few matches since the update dropped and something is off, Auric now feels like normal Damnation pre update and I’ve talked to other players about this and they’ve noticed it too. I don’t know if this was an intentional reduction of difficulty they thought they could get away with or if something isn’t working correctly but it needs to be addressed quickly.
I shouldn’t have to explain why HISTG not working is bad for the game but I’m going to anyway. I don’t know how it is for everybody else but Auric HISTG is a very comfortable level of difficulty for me because I really don’t want to engage with Havoc’s annoying systems like the party finder and weekly rank systems just to play it (I’m also just probably not good enough to play it but that’s besides the point). My point is this difficulty is very important as it’s a good level of challenge for slightly above average players like me who are stuck in the middle of being bored on lower difficulties but also not wanting to play Havoc.
I’d like to know if anybody else feels like the difficulty of Auric missions isn’t the same as pre patch and I’d also like some Transparency from Fatshark on whether or not this decrease in difficulty is intentional or not, because if things are working as intended then this update may have killed the game for me. Or maybe this was a huge waste of time and Fatshark will ignore this like last time they accidentally made the game easier who knows.
PS: while we’re at it revert the “fix” that locked people out of using universal human cosmetics on Arbitrator, that is a completely horrible change that even if it was meant as a fix for something does nothing but make the game worse and anger players by removing options from people who paid for the cosmetics and also paid for the class.
Absolutely felt the same last night. I actually had to check with chat to make sure I didn’t accidentally QP into a lower difficulty because of the shi*ty new mission board.
Auric Damn QP and Maels was my home. I mean, I want to play havoc, but not with party finder (and realizing there’s less XP incentive than the former).
I barely had to dodge all game. I was even able to take this lovely screenshot using the windows snipping tool since I forgot my steam screenshot button. Most of my missions were only 2-3 players through most of the level due to the arbites update and it was still easy.
Don’t do this FS. Not like this. Not like this.
““The new auric base difficulty now starts at the old auric hi-intensity for all missions.
Note: a new auric + hi-intensity is in the works for a future release!””
yup I don’t believe either of these statements the new board is horrible gameplay wise and UI wise
I hope they will answer… but knowing them, we could get a silence radio for weeks.
Waiting until tomorrow and I ask the refund of Arbites.
Cannot play a game that would be without real difficulty.
Maybe someone can tell me that maelstrom are still great? Cause Histg was not my preferred missions… Maelstrom were.
But if they don’t communicate, I will consider that the situation will surely last several months and then better to wait that they fix it before buying a DLC.
@dannylew8299@psyk did either of you try the “new and improved” mortis trials yet? Probably need to try one to see where it stacks up with this new, hopefully busted spawn rate.
I’m not suggesting it will be good now. Just that they, allegedly, added an Auric difficulty and pumped the spawn logic. Wondering if anyone of us not digging the new regular auric have tried it to see where it stacks up.
After the leveling nonsense, auric disappointment, and cosmetic nonsense (out of solidarity), I’m holding off on that DLC. No sense in leveling an op new class if this is the Auric I’ll be taking it into.
Is the current Auric Shock Troop Gauntlet exactly the same as the old Hi-Intensity Shock Troop Gauntlet? Or have there been any changes to spawn density, the AI director, or other mechanics?
Also, does the upcoming new Auric difficulty have a higher base difficulty compared to the previous Auric missions?
I’m sorry, but there hasn’t been nearly enough explanation regarding the changes to the mission board and difficulty levels. Could you please provide a more detailed explanation?
I feel like I had the opposite. I ran a game where I had constant Mutant spawns. And I mean constant - as soon as I killed one I’d hear the next one screaming and coming after me. This carried on all game.
It wasn’t unduly difficult, but it felt not right. Something does feel off.
EDIT: Just to be clear, this wasn’t waves of Mutants. It was one at a time, the entire game.
Thats unfortunate, I’ve been casually leveling up arbities for the weekend but this difficulty was also my jam. Would love an in-depth dev response to the changes if this is the case.
Dont understand why this is a problem because you play Dune. A Funcom great job the character look like they have a broom up the ass. animations that slide into the unknown. Probably the most antipathetic character level design too. Dead game in max 3 m. as intended.
Don’t see what is your problem. But you may not have played it. It would explain.
Because character talents tree are great and there is an absolute freedom
You can mix all classes, use building tiles and cosmetics of all factions .
My only concern is about pvp. I want pvp on ground. But actually it is is ornithopters vs ornithopters.
But they communicated yesterday to address the concerns of players (see a company that communicates and the game is just 21 days old).
