I made a build specifically for this pennance with all the peril reduction possible and it’s factually impossible to get unless you tell your team to just afk on a big wave (I tried not to).
The requirement is obsene and doesn’t even have anything to do with what Scier’s Gaze is good for (killing elites). Instead you’re just trying to kill as many horde enemies as possible before your peril caps or you run out of enemies. Which is what’s been my issue. I run out of enemies. ***** nerf this garbage. What’s even the point.
Take scriers gaze and any of force sword (my choise is deismos) with bless for quell peril on weakspot hit). Wait for horde. Activate scriers gaze. Do swing swing baby. Profit.
Take scriers gaze and recon lasgan… U know the drill, right? Also. In my experiments scriers gaze do not count nodes with - peril generation, its like consistens of numbers of genereting peril no matter what talents u got.
As others said above the issue here is your own skill.
You’ll get it in the first wave on any hi int/HISTG or auric damnation game simply by using a columnus mk 5 and taking a few crit + peril reduction talents and firing off into a horde at head height.
I wish people would bother to ask for help instead before yapping and screaming to the devs about nerfs. 99% of the time it’s the player’s inability.
Out of curiosity. Were you using a staff with Scrier’s gaze? Please don’t tell me you were using a staff.
You know which Penance REALLY needs a lower requirement? The 500 Blades of Faith Elite/Specialist kills for Zealot… it took me nearly 30 matches to achieve it.
Seriously, it’s EXTREMELY high compared to the other Blitz Penances… those ones all took me less than 10 matches to achieve.
That would mean an average of 16.67 kills per mission, which is pretty low, considering that you start with 10 knifes and that you can 1-2 shot most specials and elites.
Out of the zealot penances, i think this one also took me the longest, but nowhere near 30 matches.
The blades reach a few more 1 shot breakpoints on heresy, than on damnation.
Probably a lot more on difficulties below that.
Maybe that would be the way to go, if you struggle getting your knife kills on damnation.
That said, i agree that the requirement could be slightly lower. But at the same time, i also do not mind some penances taking a bit longer to complete, as long as it is not the ones that make you do stupid things (which this one does not).
All depends on your point of view, I guess. If someone loathed the crit / blades of faith playstyle, making them play 30 matches of something they don’t enjoy is… a lot. A whole lot.
Ogryn and psyker pennances are whatever. Vet and zealot are сancer.
Marksman one forcing you to crab walk almost for the whole run a few times.
Weapons specialist pennance is also annoying, only crit headshots for elites and specials and during the buff after swap, like bring more conditions it should be Tuesday and full moon.
For loner you need to find shooters while being out of coherency wich is almost impossible cause there will be another zealot with 99% chance (probably wielding knife) and after that you need to backstab also.
This is definitely the easiest penance out of ones associated with specific nodes.
I just ran into a horde with Slaughterer illisi, after having activated Scryer’s Gaze.
Not sure what‘s your point here.
Nobody is being made to play 30 matches with anything.
If you have to kill enemies for a penance, but you barely kill any enemies, that is not the penance‘s fault.
Any penance will take you lots of matches, if you do not do what the penance requires you to do.
Yes, the requirement for this specific penance could be lowered a bit.
But there would still be someone who maybe gets 5 knife kills per mission and that person will still complain, even if the requirements are reduced by 80%
You can not blame the penance‘s requirements for how long it takes you to complete it, when your per mission performance is low.
This blitz penance requires decent aim, if you want to complete it quickly.
If you do not consistently hit your headshots with the knifes, it will take you a while.
If you do consistently hit your headshots and maybe even use a loadout that boosts your knifes enough to get a few extra breakpoints, it will not take all that long.
You can also use the knifes to finish enemies off, if you know your melee weapon‘s damage output, or if you use health bars.
If you don’t understand the point I was making, which is fairly obviously that grindy penances that force a certain build or playstyle for a long period of time, is a bad idea, then I don’t think I can help you.
I certainly can’t help you when your response to grindy + thing you don’t like doing, is to use a lot of words to say “Skill Issue.”
