Need something to hold me over until 40k darktide

I need a game that can hold me over for about 29 days until darktide launches. I’m after something that I don’t have to get too invested in as whatever game it is will be pushed aside when darktide comes out, I’d like any form of progression and something where story doesn’t matter, just fun dopamine trigerring game play for a few days. Any genre as long as the game play is fun. Thanks.Yes i know i should pre order to play it on nov 17 but im getting it on game pass cause i just put my money on world of warcraft dragon flight since its reeleasing the week where darktide launches so yeah. Also runefactory 5 is been doing the trick. Just beat cod MWII campaign now im just playing spec ops and multiplayer even though the spec ops is not that great. Dark and darker has been stratching the itch so far its like tarkov esque dark souls like and soloing is really hard no what matter what class you are and having a team is fun though cause its team composition.

Chaos gate demon hunters

It’s good but it’s a four-five day run, tops.

I’m assuming you’ve already played it, but I should mention Deep Rock Galactic just in case. Similar concept of 4-man squads fighting hordes of enemies, progression exists but is generally secondary to skill, easy to pick up for a 30-minute game.

Beyond that, your request is vague enough that literally any game in existence could fit the criteria, so I’m gonna take this opportunity to shill Grim Dawn; it’s basically what diablo 3 should have been. You should be able to get through it in a month, depending on how much you play. You can stretch the playtime easily based on how much of a completionist you are, whether you enjoy making new characters and builds, etc etc.

Payday 2. ($10) Deep Rock Galactic. ($30) Killing Floor 2. ($30) All fine FPS horde survival games with varying degrees of RPG progression. KF2 has the least going on besides shooting stuff, but it does that exceptionally well IMO. PD2 and DRG both have additional objective-based gameplay of its own flavor.

I’d say KF2 is the best for shooting and action. Payday 2 is the best for living the bank robber/HEAT fantasy, and DRG is probably the most chillaxed of the three and has some enjoyable low key exploration as well.

Solitaire.

Notice Me Senpai 3 (Oops! All Furries! Edition)

btw, only 16 days if you preorder. The beta comes back on what, the 17th?

I can very easily recommend Deep Rock Galactic. As of writing this, we’re on the last day of Season 2: Rival Escalation and on November 3rd, will move on to Season 3: Plaguefall. No better time to pick up the game than right when a new season starts!

While the skill required for DRG isn’t as demanding as Vermintide or other similar horde games, you can get some certified™ butt-clenching moments on Hazard 5 or Elite Deep Dives, especially if you play Scout. The build system is also deceptively deep for a game that markets itself on casual play, so don’t write it off on that alone. The community in general is also awesome.

Vermintide 2

Rocket League and OW2 are free to play…

Killing floor 2 is addictive and really fun. The only annoying thing in the game is the terrible server browser. It was really broken last time Ive checked. But the game itself is cool. There is some paywall to access some weapons, but if there is someone in the server with the dlc, everyone can use the weapons, so you don’t feel this too much.

I’ve been playing vermintide and rimworld. also the dark and darker playtest but that’s over now
