In fairness, for the people who aren’t playing Aurics and Havoc, Plasma guns aren’t really an issue.
Plasma guns can feel stupendously broken at those higher difficulties where a dozen elites may spawn literally on top of each other and the PG can just insta-wipe them while triggering a ton of CDR for Shout, without using a ton of magazine capacity.
At the “normal” difficulty levels, even Damnation, the PG doesn’t feel spectacularly overpowered, because players just aren’t presented with the raw volume of enemies or resource limitations.
Different weapons and abilities scale differently with difficulty. Aurics and Havoc are “harder than hard” modes, they’re really not what the game should be balanced around, and they’re not what the bulk of the playerbase plays.
If I had a talent for doing so, I too would make thumbnails that pull people in, but I dont. As a consequence, I must just be me. Tis a sad dull existence but it is what it is.
Don’t pretend it’s just a matter of catchiness and not dishonest when you specifically phrase it DARKTIDE WEAPONS NEED BUFFS, NOT NERFS lmao. Nobody is asking you to put a conclusive title, just stop pretending that’s not dishonest clickbait.
If you like making clickbait titles and it works out for you, by all means man. Just don’t cope about it. To each how he made his bed, you know.
Titles/thumbnails should reflect the main thrust of a video’s point. And different videos can be about different, even conflicting, things (based on an almost endless number of factors). What’s dishonest about it?
Wait I just realized I quoted the same thing twice, meant to do this
just saying man, flip and flop. Either that or the titles are wrong.
It’s not that I’m terribly invested but underinformed oversensationalist youtubers do tick me off. See also: Tanner. I just wanna call it out where it’s done, especially if there’s a pretense that it’s not being done.
There’s other youtubers capable of completely doing none of the youtube/tabloid baiting strats and they happen to be far more informed. Reginald is an example, can only recommend
I don’t agree with his stance in the buffs video, and I haven’t watched the plasma gun nerf video, but I don’t see the problem with the titles if that’s the actual content the videos are about and he’s making arguments in support of the titles.
Titles aside, I also don’t see the problem with holding these two opinions simultaneously…he wants buffs so he can play with more weapons at his current skill level in Havoc…but he also thinks the plasma gun should be nerfed. Doesn’t sound crazy to me (although I disagree with his stance on Havoc).
Saying weapons is quite generalised, saying PG is specific. No need to split hairs down to the atom. Sometimes we gotta generalise to get a point across otherwise titles would be much longer.
“All weapons need buffs except the PlasmaGun, Dueling Sword, Bolter, Bolt Pistol, Force GreatSword and Relic Blade.”
no sht, i also think the plasma nerfer cult is stupid
and don’t kid yourself, i’m fine if they do nerf it eventually, i barely touched the thing, its useless to me
i’m with you on this one, these people should have gone easier with you on that, as far as thumbnails and titles go yours are the less clickbaity around
and yes that would make perfectly sense as a sentence in german.
silly but not “an den haaren herbei gezogen”
sidenote for the buff/nerf discussion checks notes thursday steam charts 5800 players.
on the decline from the moment the update was released, dont you
(generally adressed, not “you” specifically )
think we’ve shaken off the tourists anyways and the “schönwetterspieler” jumped to the latest hot again?
so whats gonna happen if we clench our cheeks, get every class de-power crept and have around 3k people knowing their sht in higher diffs again?
game’s been around for 2 1/2 years with lesser people in between, lights are still on?
does it really have to feel like a metaphore for that painted world thingy in dark souls 3 where everyone wished for the rot to be burned away just to make “it end”?
power creep so far let to headless havoc when difficulty is mistaken for “oh-fk-fk-fk” moments outta your control…
i often times dont feel “punished” for failing a higher match, i feel “verarscht” and that’ll lead to frustration sooner or later no matter how many atom bombs your character carries.
trim down the values of each “talent”, rebalance weapons to be the deciding factor based on their abilities, not what red button orbital strike or hulk mode your char carries in his pocket to push every 10 seconds enables you to do.
talents can be meaningful but when they replace the gun/melee in your hand as a problem solver, somethings off in my opinion.
physical player skill > excel spreadsheet value and maybe people’d be more inclined to play havoc and meaningful.
Feels dishonest to say the alternative to a sweeping statement is hyperspecification. Maybe just don’t say “darktide needs buffs, not nerfs”? Why not a title like “Havoc needs to get balanced”? That’s just an example. See how you don’t have to make controversial sweeping statements to get an idea across?
The reason he chose that title is clickbaitiness and intentional inflammatory sweeping generalization. And I can only repeat myself: if you do that on youtube you deserve the lobotomites in your comment section after. That’s who you market to with that kinda thing, and that’s why people make fun of your videos without watching them.
“Judging a book by its cover” is a thing often said by people who dont understand the importance of how you advertise your content. You designed that cover yourself, why can’t I go by what it tells me? Your problem.
Thank you I really like that thing… that’s a gem of a video.
I don’t really like that other thing … that’s happened because of my little comments… but it’s also quite entertaining.
Strangely enough the thumbnail in question was quite accurate thus so was the presumption of his opinion at the time. I’m not really interesting Havoc either and haven’t seen any patch note improvements that would of made me interested since launch so I don’t really see why an opinion would change except maybe it grew on him…but the list of havoc mistakes was long.
Since I’m judging by thumbnails / titles this must be turning point “Darktide’s Havoc Mode Update is.. not what I expected”..nope… “Fatshark heard us! Derank changes are coming to darktide”?
I really don’t see anything wrong with his click baits it’s just part of the media… the reactions are a lil over the top but so are our over analysis… and this silly thread is titled after him… pulling a FS and not responding is probably the best policy.
