I wouldn’t take it too seriously, forum commentary was light hearted with the *admission and is more intended to trigger a response and pivot on a dime… the dot dot dots and emoji -.^ should express the serious seas of the comment with the jab at what most people hate click bait thumbnails..subscribe to me, beat the algorithm ect… though we understand why they are used, similar to FOMO vendors and forum triggering commentary.
I’m not terribly interested in this topic though your plasma video was spot on.
Hopefully last edit:
I watched your 2month old “Darktides Havoc mode was a MISTAKE” I very much agree with it…how you now want to balance around it is probably in between.
Also you " M.E.G.A.- How I would change Ex Stance to make it GREAT AGAIN!" Good general knowledge to crazy powerful buff suggestions, parts I agree but general no’s, though going through several idea iterations myself understand.
I think they should bring the infinite ammo from mortis for the exc stance
That’s a good buff.
Honestly veteran’s tree is more so boring than anything else. Despite having skilltree with 3 path’s he really just remains petty bog standard in what you can do with them with the only perks he really has are deal % more damage really it’s just sort of the colour of projectile you fire that changes. really only the keystones is where the class gets somewhat actual meaningful choices. Also it’s hilarious that the ‘marksman’ tree still benefits automatic weapons the most by far.
The whole thing needs a rework not to make veteran stronger just to make the class have some modicum of variety.
Yah they have some of the most powerful passives, flexible tree, survivalist aura and shout…but the keystones are so weird. WS is more sniper with auto crit and marksman more full auto…and it’s really hard to fix without overlapping the others or to make a true keystone feature that’s game changing… WS does this the “best” as is.
I just had an aneurysm from my mistake of reading the takes in the comment section of Mr. E’s response video. I can immediately tell that most of them are Players who shouldn’t be playing anything above Regular Damnation/Auric Heresy at the highest but are managing to complete Havoc by using Duelling Swords and such as crutches.
“We only have a few useful Weapons!” No, you’re just piggybacking into Havoc with powercrept crutches and blaming the Game when non-Meta Weapons can’t carry you through a Game Mode that’s clearly too difficult for you. You can always play on Regular or even Auric if you don’t want to rely on crutches, which by the way are NOT needed to complete Havoc at all if you have the recommended skill for it.
No hate to Mr. E from myself, of course. Just expressing my disgust at how so many people could be so lacking in vision. People are too scared of their crutches getting taken away to see the bigger picture, so they say goofy stuff like “Everything should be buffed to Duelling Sword’s level!” instead of realising that Duelling Sword and others of its ilk are the ones creating many of the problems that we see in Darktide. Havoc shouldn’t be for everyone because that’s antithetical to Havoc’s intended purpose.
Havoc should, maybe, have been for all players… but they made choices that made it not for everybody.
It would be totally stupid to try to adapt it for all players. You will just ruin the game for the ones that love such impossible difficulties, the ones where a mistake means the wipe of the entire team. And you will ruin also the game for the ones that enjoy regular board or even auric.
Mortis trial, that I don’t like, is a good move. It is a game mode that speak to a big part of the possible players. in fact to every players that would start the game. My concern is more that it comes pretty late in the game life, but it will be a good feature for a casual or players that just want a little fun or guys that try this game.
They have designed a mod for the ones that want what I see as frustrating difficulty. Now, they should keep it as is.
I know that they won’t nerf a lot of things… but seriously if they buff everything to the DS level, the game is dead.
Why should the absolute hardest difficulty in the game — which, to be very very clear is not Havoc, it is the absolute highest tier of Havocs — be “for everybody.” Cata isn’t for everyone. How can there be a difficulty suitable for everybody that also satisfies the highest-skilled players? It just doesn’t make sense.
A bit of an aside, but Havoc has been designed to be accessible to a much much wider group than the top percentile of players.
Back to my main point: this is my issue with pushing for balance around Havoc and anyone making a case for buffing weapons to be “Havoc-viable.” Every weapon can be Havoc-viable if you’re skilled enough. And yea for some of the weapons, you’d have to be uniquely skilled indeed. But that’s how the hardest difficulty (High Havoc) should be.
You don’t get it. What I mean is that they could have designed it as just an other game mode for any player. But it was not their choice.
Making it easier will just create problems as the current design fits the need of a part of the players. And I don’t say it is wrong. I say that the way this game mode was created make it restricted to a tiny part of the players.
Of course, if you really want to involve yourself with the game mode you will find your place and will progress. But I feel that the situation is correct and that Fatshark should not try to make Havoc more affordable.
Havoc has its lower Tiers for that sort of thing, but those are mostly used for grinding out the “Complete X Havoc Missions” Penances. I wasn’t referring to those when speaking of “Havoc”, though. I’m talking chiefly Havoc 20 and above, because THOSE absolutely shouldn’t be for everyone.
Yeah. Mortis Trials is a nice, casual and appropriately “arcadey” Mode. Regular Missions, on the other hand, are inappropriately “arcadey” because of Enemy/Player Balancing getting destroyed by Patch #13 and subsequent powercreep.
Yeah. PLEASE don’t do this, Fatshark. Enemies are already being spammed to a disgusting degree to compensate for the powercreep, please don’t make it worse. My PC won’t be happy.
Imagine making clickbait thumbnails + titles and then being surprised people don’t put up with that garbage lol. Think a bit more deeply about what you want to achieve with your vids. If you just want clicks for revenue then don’t be surprised people look down on it and don’t engage with the practice.
If you actually want discussion then make the thumbnail and title representative of the contents. I’d never buy a technical book that states “STEEL IS A THING OF THE PAST! YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS NEW STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING META”, rather i’d just look away and think “wow, tabloid trash huh?” and tell my coworkers about that guy who said steel isn’t relevant anymore.
its not clickbait, its a condensed version of what i will go on to say in the video. If i could fit everything i want to say in the thumbnail, i would run a twitter account instead of a youtube channel.
Many youtube videos use some form of clickbait title/thumbnail to pull people in. Thats the name of the game if you want viewers. It seems to have worked quite well here, as people are engaging both on and off site.
I respect those that don’t and focus on the message instead. It results in less interest, but more quality discourse because the only people engaging are those who actually think about these things and like to engage with the discussion.
If that’s not the main goal of making a video discussing weapon balance then let’s be honest, it’s just clout chasing and I don’t care for it. Fair enough if that’s the goal because it does bring in viewers. Just can’t complain when people treat it as such
The amount of “no” replies i got for saying the plamsa should be nerfed was quite alarming, but then we have to remember than many players are in their first 100 hours or permastuck malice. My community was pretty much evenly split whether they prefer nerfing ds vs buffing everything else, and that was a 2.4k sample size. I think the same poll on players in havoc would be like 80-20.
Thats fair, but I understand that pulling people in to fuel engagement and also starting the discussion in the first place is also important. So long as the clickbait isnt totally unrepresentative of the content e.g. if I see a fail compilation video with a nice pair of jugs, I expect that video to be in the compilation. I know Iv been pulled in, but I also expect some form of honesty. I dont think @Mister_E 's video is all that clickbaity. He promised jugs, I saw jugs.
I feel like the issue here is, people dont like the jugs they saw.
My complain wasnt that he (guy you quoted) called it clickbait, it was that he said i was flipflopping my opinions. I DID change my opinion, but only after fs addressed the concerns i expressed. My thumbnails and titles have always reflected the spirit of what i will go on to explain in the video. Havoc was a MISTAKE= I explain why introducing this game mode in its current state is bad for darktide.
This is either a flipflop or your thumbnails and titles are clickbait and don’t align with the contents. I’ll believe what you’re saying though and assume the titles are just misleading and you didn’t flipflop opinions, but then how can you blame people for not watching content with misleading and intentionally inflammatory titles? If you want to talk to people who like that, stick to your youtube comments, where you yourself are summarizing it nicely:
I would put it less nicely: those are the people that attracts, enjoy
Exactly, the thumbnail and title are the promise of jugs, the video itself is some 28 minutes of me stream-of-consciousness explaining the pros and cons of said jugs.
